Camera while riding?

What does everyone do with cameras while riding the rides? We have a nice DSLR, so I certainly do not plan to leave in the stroller! For the rides with height requirements, we will be using rider swap, so that will be fine. But when we all 4 ride something, where do I store my camera??? Since it is larger, it won't fit in my pocket.

Nearly every "thrill" ride has a pouch of some sort where you can store your camera. Some pouches are larger than others, but a regular camera bag should fit pretty much everywhere.

There are only a few rides we ride (RnR, Star Tours, & Space Mountain off the top of my head) that I don't have the camera hanging around my neck. Some of my favorite shots have been from the front car position on Expedition Everest when we get to the end of the tracks or even when the doors open on ToT. I have a strap where it is cross ways across my chest but able for me to shoot with while remaining more secure, so technically it isn't just hanging there. I don't think I would keep it just bare in my hands without that strap, ya know? If you don't feel comfortable doing that, there is either a place in front of you or under your seat to stow your stuff. :thumbsup2

You can take it on all the rides, including the thrill rides.

Keep it out and keep snapping away (without flash). There are some great picture opportunities on the rides! If you have a fast lens, bring it for the dark rides.

There are only a couple rides where they don't want you taking any kinds of pics--Rock n Rollercoaster, Soarin.... I think maybe Star Tours, too. They provide pouches where you can store the camera. For RnR, I usually just put the camera in my bag and wrap the bag's strap around my leg and wrist. I've actually taken a tripod with me on RnR. (Not to use on the ride, obviously, but just because I was carrying one around that night.) It was fine.

Disney's a great place for photography. They are very photographer friendly, and the wide range of conditions is excellent for practicing. There's motion, low light, bright sunlight... opportunities for wide angle, telephoto... huge park icons, small details... and of course tons of color. Have fun.

I use a backpack in the parks, so I always tuck my camera (a dSLR) in there for rides. I've ridden most of the rides at Disney and have always found a place to tuck my bag. On Space Mountain and RNR I did stick my foot through one of the backpack straps to keep it more secure, but otherwise I just keep the bag between my legs.

Thank you!!! Such great tips. And those pics are beautiful and priceless. Thank you so much for sharing!!
