Camera while on rides?

Hi everyone, before Xmas we purchased a canon 2ti which we are bringing to Disney with us next week. This is our first time having a bigger camera and our concern is what to do with it while going on rides. What do you all do?

If it was Splash Mountain , which is closed, ask for a plastic bag and wrap the camera in it. any ride that may splash the camera should be protected.

I usually try to take pictures while on the ride.... Unless a CM comes over the loud speaker and tells me not to.

I'd love to take pics while on the rides. I didn't think they'd allow you on the ride with camera's. Our local amusement park always told me to put my Olympus away so I assumed I'd have the same problem at Disney. I didn't want to leave the camera on the platform while on a ride.

Mine went with me on everything. As mentioned, have a plastic bag handy for water rides. The plastic bag comes in handy if it rains too.

Disney will allow cameras on all the rides. Universal on the other hand is very strict about not allowing cameras.

My camera bag (a backpack style bag) goes at my feat. I usually step into one of the straps.

If I want to shoot, the camera is around my neck. Otherwise it is in the bag.

I've done video on probably all of the rides. Some, such as Tower of Terror, not longer allow it. Video was easier than stills, because the camera adjusted to focus and darkness issues in Thunder Mountain, Rockin' Roller Coaster. etc.

The trickiest part is to hang on tight to the camera to keep it level above the safety restraint bar. Don't knock your teeth out as you bounce around - and don't try to use the viewfinder.

I've taken video or photo's on all of the rides that I've been on that were worth it (IE, Rockin' Rollercoaster is pretty pointless..). I took video of Expedition Everest back when we had our "sneak preview" passes and that turned out really well. They get mad on some rides as others have mentioned, they yelled at me on the loud speaker for taking video on StarTours..

Unless they specifically say "no photography", pictures on rides are OK ... but please remember no flash pictures on dark rides!!

and yes, a plastic bag on wet rides is a must!
