I wasn't sure where to put this post, so I chose here. Does anyone have a Kodak Easyshare digital camera? I need to get a new, affordable camera for our trip. Does this take good pics.? The camera I have now, a concord, takes horrible pics. most of the time. They come out blurry and the coloring is funny. I can't see through the view finder if it's bright outside or dark. Just wondering if the Kodak camera has the same problems. If anybody can post pics. taken with a kodak can you please post some. Thank you for your help.

I have a Kodak Easy Share Z740 and love the camera. It takes great pictures and pretty good videos too! It is also a 5 megapixel camera too so I can get so decent sized pictures if I go to WalMart and get them in "picture paper". I also have the printer dock, but can only print 4X6 pictures.

I also have the Z740 and absolutely love it. One thing that sold me on this one was the zoom. If you don't have an optical zoom that is 8X or greater (Z740 has a 10X), then any editing you do will affect pic clarity.

You did not indicate if you wanted a large zoom or not.

If you do, I would stick to one that has image stabilization. There are an ever growing number of options with this, so it seems silly to not get one with it. It really makes a world of difference. Even if you are not planning on long zoom pictures, the "IS" allows you to capture images at least two stops slower without any loss of quality.

I have the Canon S1 IS with it and I almost never have blurry images.

the only thing that can cause blurry pics is camera shake. there is a right and wrong way to hold and shot the camera. Look at your owners manual for the correct way to hold your camera

I also have the Kodak z(whatever) with the 10x optical zoom. Mine, which is an older model, also has a 4x digital zoom (the newer ones have a 5x digital). Amazingly, you can get pretty good pictures even when zoomed WAY in. I personally know that is not the case with some cameras. This one has a sufficiently fast shutter speed to get the shot. The only problem I have had is at large indoor events (think graduations). If the lighting is not good, I found I was getting blurry shots without the flash, or dark shots with it. This was easily solved by using the manual settings and overriding a few things.

In short, I love this camera!

AMEN.

Of course there are exceptions for defects and for extremely low megapixelage, but overall there's no such thing as a camera taking bad pictures.

A bad photographer can take dreadful photos with a $1,500 camera, and a good photographer can take gallery-quality photos with a disposable camera. Now as I said earlier, there can be exceptions. The advanced photographer may want to make changes in aperture and shutter speed that may not be possible with lower end cameras, but in general, I'll stand by my idea that it's mainly the person and not the camera that determines the quality of the image.
