seeking some advice. i would like to use a tripod for my camera during the fireworks, soundsational and fantasmic.

is it acceptable practice at disneyland to use a tripod.

if i do use it i would probably set up out of the way of people. but know this is difficult as these are very popular events.

any advice will be helpful

I see people with tripods all the time. There's no rule on them and I'm 100% sure they won't care as long as it doesn't disrupt other peoples views

Yes, you can do it. I assume you are talking about for your video camera. I've taken my monopod in and used it in the parks before for my still camera.

You are going to have a real difficult time finding a good spot for fantasmic to both see well and use your tripod. Many of the best viewing areas are for sitting down only. If this is important to you, get there early. Some people start saving their spots 3 hours before the show, but you can wait until later than that, but don't expect to show up 30 minutes before showtime and get the spot you want.

Just as the pp said that you can bring a tripod in the parks. I do bring a tripod or monopod in the park so I can videotape the fireworks, F!, WoC and the parades.

But here is the only catch that DL will have with a tripod. You can bring a tripod into the park that can fit inside a backpack or small bag. They won't allow commercial tripods (media tripods) in the park. If you bring a personal tripod that can fit inside a bag, the CMs at the security gate will have no problem with it.

Shows like F! and WoC, the CMs will ask you to level the camera of the tripod towards your head height. They do this so the camera won't bother the other people behind you during the show. I had some CMs told me this for WoC when I got a railing. I didn't like it since I am a short guy and needed the extra height to get the show.

For F!, you might want to videotape the show with a tripod on the back side of the sitting area since you will not obstruct the show from your camera. I have never seen people that used a camera tripod for F!, but I do see people with their cameras in their hand and putting it up which is annoying.

thanks 4 the advice everyone. it is helpful.

i aim not to be in anyones way. i dont wont ruin anyones view, so if i cant get the shot, i will leave it.
