Camera quest!

Continuing my ongoing effort to fritter away money on a new camera ...

I dropped by B&H earlier in the week and shared an intimate moment with a Pentax *istDL. We hit it off instantly! For the price (less than $600 with the kit lens, 18-55 mm included) and the size, shape, and feel of the thing, how can I go wrong?

The reviews have been generally excellent, and I think this could be The One.

But before I commit...I'm wondering what others out there think of this particular camera.

Played with the camera and for that price, there is no excuse for anybody for not buying a dSLR. It's not a stellar camera, but for it is the absolute best camera for that price.
