Camera Problems

I think I need to clean the sensor on my dslr. I am getting a small spot on my pictures when I have a lot of sky in my landscape shots. I tried to go to the option on the menu on my camera (like it says in my owners manual) but the option isn't there. Does anyone have a Canon Rebel XT?

Sometimes all you need is to talk with the customer service people. They told me what to do. I think I go the problem cleared up.

did it involved cleaning your glasses? That makes the spots in the sky mostly clear up for me.

Nope, not the glasses. At least I know how to fix the problem.

Wasn't a spot on your glasses or a UFO.
Did you have a dirty sensor? (That was for Rex. He likes dirty talk)

Did they suggest mirror lock-up and a rocket blower blast?

I ask because I too have an unknown spot in the sky. I usually just give it a blast but if there's something less dramatic I'll try it.

I think it was a spot on the sensor. I don't have a rocket blaster (yet, it hasn't arrived), I just used one of those air bulb things that come with the brush. I removed the brush and just squeezed really hard on the bulb to try and get as much air pressure as possible. I got the camera into sensor clean mode and blew some air inside. I think it worked. I plan on bringing the rocket blaster and the other cleaning kit I bought on the cruise, just in case. I have heard dust on the sensor will cause spots to show up in the sky shots. Good luck.
