Camera help needed, please!

Hi there,

This is probably going to sound dumb, but I could really use the help of someone who knows their way around a camera. I have a Kodak 5.5 Megapixel camera, it's one of those "easyshare" models. Anyway, the problem is that every picture I take at night seems to come out very dark, no matter what I do, or what setting I use!

It's frustrating, because I see people using cameras at WDW taking awesome shots of the castle at night, fireworks, etc., and I can't capture any of it! I went to the CP at Epcot the other night, and my pictures of the choir didn't even come out.

I find it hard to believe that I bought a camera (it's only a year old) that doesn't work at night, so what am I doing wrong? Any tips or suggestions appreciated.

But if it allows, set the ISO to highest (I believe 400) for this camera and keep the aperature near it's largest (don't zoom in) for indoor shows. There aren't many really good cameras to capture what you are looking for without going DSLR. Sorry Does it have a setting for fireworks? Night portait? this will not help with indoor shows however.

Lots of things can go wrong. If you post some examples, that would be really helpful so that we can provide better advice. As a start, you were likely using your flash but were too far away for the flash to do any good. Turn it off, set your camera to its highest iso and widest aperture (smallest f number) and try that.
