I am looking into buying a new bag. I would really like one that looks more like a purse than a traditional camera bag. I have one now, but it really isn't functional.

I have been looking at the Jill-E bags, but I would like to get everyones opinion here...THANKS!!!

What do you want to put into it. The DW is carrying a DSLR with the 18-55 lens and the 50-200. She just bought a bag that her sister (a pro photographer) uses when she wants to go light. Its a Neoprene bag and works real well and doesn't look like a camera bag.

It is a darker blue (it also comes in black) than depicted in the picture and has two small and two larger pockets with a movable velcro divider. It can make four compartments. It comes in two sizes. She has the medium.

Take a look at onabags.com, too. You may find something you like.

I have the Jill-E small camera bag. It's what I use at home to take my camera with me when I don't have to carry the bag. It holds everything I need, but on vacation I like to use a backpack because it's a lot more comfortable to carry. I have the Kata 3n1 that will be going with me to WDW next month.

Right now I have this one:

But it really isn't that functional for me when I put in my DSLR with either the 70-300 or the 50-200 (which I do have a little more room, but not what I would like), a wallet and a point and shoot. I use it to go to minor league hockey games so I definitely need a wallet and I always carry my point and shoot.

I am more of a person that likes longer straps on my purses or bags, so a cross body would be great for me.

I have the Jill-E large black leather bag and hate it. I carried it around Disney Land for 4 days and it was so heavy and unwieldy that I haven't used it since. It was the worst thing I have ever lugged around. I then moved on to a Wenger Swiss Gear backpack that was black with pink trim. I used that pack for 2 or 3 Disney trips and it was a little lighter but hard to get the camera out of the bag and it lacked room for non-camera gear like my wallet and sunglasses. Next I bought 2 bags - a Kata DR 466i backpack and a Think Tank Retrospective 5. I took them both on our Alaska cruise thinking I would carry around the Think Tank on board and take the Kata backpack on our excursions. I really liked the green fabric of the Think Tank but it doesn't hold my ipad and it is fairly heavy even without any camera gear. I love the Kata backpack and can't see shopping for another bag any time soon. It is lightweight, functional and pretty easy to get the camera out of the bottom gear pocket. I'm 5'4" and find the tapered shape and slim depth very easy to carry. I love all the pockets and my ipad fits in the laptop slot. It also comes with a great rain cover that I used on the Grizzly River Rapid ride in DL in October.
