I've looked at a couple... I know Tamrac has a few that look nice, I think Lowepro and others do, too.

Avoid the Amvona one at all costs - I got one cheap off eBay and the belt strap broke after two days, dropping my camera to the ground! The design of the Tamrac one appears to be vastly more robust, but a little larger than I wanted, so I stuck with my old shoulder bag.

Now you tell me, I purchased the Amvona about a month back. It is nice but as you said the belt strap broke on only the second time using it(the strap).

Luckily this was during a football game and the bag landed on the grass, no damage.

used this with my pentax k100d last week and had my 50-200mm lens attatched and used one of the two side pockets to put my 10-17mm lens and the front pocket had enough space to carry extra batteries and additional SD cards. does have belt loops but i didnt use had a shoulder strap that i used

I recently purchased the Lowepro Topload Zoom 2 and love it. I was reluctant to buy yet another camera bag but it really has worked out well for me. I don’t use the optional holster strap, just the normal should strap and find that it is comfortable to carry. It holds my D70 and 18-200 lens and a flash so I think it should hold the 70-300 but you probably want to look at the measurements posted on Lowepro’s site.

I also have a Tamrac backpack but I only use it to transport my equipment on a trip. I then carry whatever I need for the day in the Lowepro Topload.

I'm bringing a Canon 10D, 24-105 and 50mm, small flash, extra batts and chargers, memory, wipes and the usual other small stuff. I'm thinking Lowepro Microtrekker 100?

A 10d with 24-105 fits (snugly) in Crumpler's $4 Million bag, easily in the $5M. There is room for batteries and CF cards in the front pouch. The 50mm would also fit but may be better in one of Crumpler's pouches, secured to the straps on the sides.

Btw, a really good lens pouch for the 50mm is Coleman's "Peak 1" soft case for lantern globes, about 3" diameter x 3-1/2" tall.

A 10d with 24-105 fits (snugly) in Crumpler's $4 Million bag, easily in the $5M. There is room for batteries and CF cards in the front pouch. The 50mm would also fit but may be better in one of Crumpler's pouches, secured to the straps on the sides.

Btw, a really good lens pouch for the 50mm is Coleman's "Peak 1" soft case for lantern globes, about 3" diameter x 3-1/2" tall.

I have the Crumpler $5mil bag and what you have will fit nicely. I personally prefer the messenger style rather than a backpack. It is very easy to change lenses while standing in line waiting for a ride, etc. I also like how easy it is to grab the camera out of the bag without having to stop, take the backpack off, etc.

(I carry a Nikon D80 with 18-200VR lens, 50mm 1.8, SB600 flash with Omni diffuser, Dust Aid sensor cleaner, extra batteries, polarizing filter, remote shutter release, cable shutter release, lens cloth, memory cards and I'm sure a few other odds and ends I can't think of at the moment.)

Anyone have experience with crumpler bags. I have been looking at the 5 , 6 and 7 million home. Can they be worn like a messenger bag or is it more a shoulder bag type. The 5 looks too small and the 7 looks too large. The 6 seems to be just right.
If you have any of these bags please comment on your likes and dislikes.
I am leaning toward a messenger type bag.

If you like messenger bags, you'll love these. I was very tempted, and had a good long look at these in the store, but when it's all said and done, with the amount of outdoor activites (ie. hiking/walking) I do, I went with the Tamrac Adventurer 9, which is "backpack style".

The backpack style for Disney as it will allow me to keep the bag "out of the way" while walking around the parks. I'll have the camera out most of the time and the only time I'll likely be switching lenses is at night. When at the restaurants the bag has to come off anyway so putting the camera away should not be a bother either.

Thanks for the sugestion but per above I think I like the backpack style better. Also while a great idea the lens pouch attached to the bag is not something I think i'll do. In my case I'm sure it would annoy me that something is outside the bag flopping around.

I have the 7 mil. I use it to transport all my gear, but I have a lighter walkaround bag I use on shoots, similar to the shootsac.

I don't like the Crumpler bags. I also walk around with the camera out for the most part (unless I'm told it has to be put away). So I just bought a neoprene case from Optech USA to sort of protect it from bumps and bruises. I also just bought a HUGE Lowepro Magnum AW to carry all my camera stuff and camcorder in when traveling (or storing) so I can keep it all in one place. (I got tired of having 3 different camera bags -- none of which could hold all of my stuff!) Then when I get to where I'm traveling, I simply take out the camera, a couple extra lenses, batteries, (whatever I think I may need for the day), if needed the camcorder, and aside from the camera which I wear constantly, stuff them all in a much smaller Lowepro camera bag or my purse & pockets. On my last trip to Vegas I managed to hold my 50mm Prime and 70-300VR in my purse. If I needed the camcorder I pulled out the VR and swapped it instead.
I debated buying a vest. (I may still do so for when I go to DL for more even weight distribution.) I just got the Kata H-14 GDC Holster Case which supposedly holds a D80, the 70-300VR and SB800 flash unit easily, so I'll have that as an alternative to stuffing in my purse and pockets. It should easily hold my camcorder while I carry the camera in the neoprene bag. I'm turning into a gadget freak so I need the space in the bags to accommodate them, and I don't want to lug a lot of big heavy stuff. I can handle small amounts of stuff, so breaking it up has made it easier for me. We women tend to have to lug around too much of our hubby's and kid's stuff too, so comfort and convenience is key.

I have the 5 million bag. I carry a Canon Rebel XTI, 75-300 lens, 11-18 lens and the kit lens. Also, 2 filters and various other small things.

It all fits nicely, and use it as a messenger type bag. The camera can only have the kit lens on it though when I need to close the bag. Not a big deal, but at times becomes a pain when I need to switch out lenses.

I love my Crumpler!

Lowepro Slingshot bags are the best of both worlds, IMO.. out of the way and easy to carry like a backpack, and just as easy as a messenger bag to access your gear.

The lens cases and bottle bag attach with a double velcro system, they are not going to fall off, ever!
