DH and I bought a Kodak camera in December and a month ago, it flat out stopped working. After getting the run around from Kodak, they said that they will not fix it due to our negligence. Apparantly, there was corrosion, and corrosion isn't covered in the warranty. We didn't remember anything happening to the camera, but Kodak won't budge. It's a sucky situation. So, long story short, it looks like we will be shopping for a new camera. We are looking for one the is less than $150. It doesn't have to do anything spectacular, just take decent pictures. ;) What camera do you have, and what do you like about it?

My husband has a Fuji Finepix XP10 which I love. It takes great pictures and is also waterproof!! Takes video clips too.

I have a DSLR but for my pocket camera I have a Canon 890Elph IS and in many instances, I've taken shots with my Nikon DSLR and with my Elph and the pictures are almost identical. Depends on the situation but the Elph is great. I love it. I believe there are many more higher models now than the 890

I would check out the ELPH cameras on AMAZON and read some reviews.

Make sure you check the different colors. Sometimes you can save $50 or so if you're willing to take blue instead of grey. To me, I don't care about the color as long as it takes great pictures :)

Good luck camera shopping!

If there is a Best Buy near you, go there and the folks in the camera department will help you out. Most are very knowledgeable and they don't work for commission so there is no pressure to sell.

Personally, I have always owned Sony cameras.

I have one of the olympus stylus tough cameras. They are shockproof, water proof, etc.... I love this camera!! we originally bought it because we go on a lot of cruises and we hated having to switch from the waterproof disposable cameras to the regular camera and so forth. Also, on trips to theme parks, we would have to bag our non-waterproof camera to keep it dry on wet rides. This new camera is awesome. we can take it from the pool to the next place without any switching. It also takes great pictures. I'd reccomend it!

Sony's are great! I have had mine for over a year and love it! Before it we also had a sony and it lasted over 2 years but it was damaged due to me leaving it in my shirt then dropping it in the ocean  . Hope you find one that fits you!

I have a Nikon Coolpix S51 and I love it! You can change the settings depending on where you are (outdoors, museum, etc.) And I love that's its small.:cool1:
