camcorders - thinking about getting one and know nothing

Hi

Dh & myself are thinking about getting a camcorder in the sales after xmas.

We are after something small, easy to use and with good battery life. but have no idea where to start.

An recommendations would be really helpful

we always buy a sony camcorder, but a few weeks ago before our florida holiday we went to argos and bought a panasonic hdd camcorder- best camcorder we have ever had and thats saying something! no tapes needed and only £229 brilliant for the money
you can even take some amazing photos with it- better than my new fuji s2000 camera.

I recently purchased the Sony SR10e. Its a high def hard disk camcorder. I am very pleased with the quality. I got it from Amazon for £400 but have seen it in a lot of high street stores for £649

its just what we are after We have actually decided to buy it now between ourselves for our christmas present So I've reserved one at argos.

The only problem will be who gets to open the present

honestly we find it is fantastic, infact just using it now to film charlie our grandson!!

we got this one too for our last holiday
just decided to down load now for the first time on the PC
not having much luck how do you do it ?
have the softwear done but can't seem to get our videos to play
