Calypso Magic

I figured I start a thread on the duo (Lynley & Robbie). We had them on their first week on the Magic 11/29 - 12/6. They are currently on a 5 week contract. They were on the Wonder for a few weeks in August I believe. Our group (Robyn, Kim, Chris & I) loved them. I believe we watched them just about every night before our dinner and if they had a session around 10pm in the Promenade Lounge. We also saw them once by the Quiet Cove pool. They are very nice, and love to talk to you after their set. If you want a picture of them, they will stop singing and pose for you. Very crowd friendly. Their attitude along with those steel drums makes for a great cruise, vacation and memories. Anyone else get to see them yet?? Hope they will be regulars on the Magic for some time to come.

We just got off the Magic this morning(so sad), and we really enjoyed calypso magic. There were 3 couples of us that went to the Promonade Lounge every night to listen to them and we too followed them up to Quiet Cove. Their energy and ability to engage the audience was really refreshing for lounge music and it was wonderful having steel drums back on the Magic!!! Wish they were the permanent entertainment.

I loved them too! Just got off the Magic yesterday and I sat in the hot tub at the Quiet Cove on Pirate Night (SO relaxing, since everyone was at the party) and they were just wonderful.

I wish I got to see them. We were leaving the Magic on 11/29. Maybe they'll still be there next fall.

Awesome!!! We are expecting 7-14" of snow in CT. Should be here in a few hours. I think you will love Calypso Magic. Nice to stop by and listen to them for about an hour before dinner if you have 2nd seating. Tell them the CT group says hi.

We are having a great time and enjoying listening to Calypso Magic. I told them Saturday night that I had read about them on the DISBoards. They gave a special "shout out" to the DISers. And then again today we were there and they said something about those of you from Connecticut and made up a little song about it. I told them I had read here to say Hi to them from the CT group, so message delivered -- and thanks so much for posting here because we might not have thought to make the effort to just sit and listen - so I'm glad we did!

That's GREAT!!!... They are good with creating songs on the spot. It makes for a more personal vacation. Have a great time and enjoy every minute of it!!!!

Just gonna bump this back up to the top - we just disembarked today and so enjoyed listening to Calypso Magic and getting to know them. I think this is their last week onboard for now, but wow - they were definitely a highlight of our trip.

I am glad you enjoyed them. Now you can re-live the Disney magic through their daily blogs. Its fun to see life on the ship through another person's eyes.
