Seems like all places are starting to do this ?

You like it ?

I hate it, cause I wont eat as much :rotfl:

I noticed that when I was in California and it put a damper on things.

I would appreciate carb counts, that would help me with my nutritional issues. I usually look online before I go and eat or have a basic idea of what is a good idea and what isn't.

I haven't noticed that yet here. I don't think I like the idea cause when I go out to eat I am not really calorie counting :confused3

I like it..it really does help me make better choices. I'm trying to lose some weight, though, so that may have something to do with it.
if I didn't need to lose weight, it may just annoy me, LOL.

I like it! I have found that I am way off in how many calories certain foods have, so it helps me. :thumbsup2

I have not seen it here yet, however I spent some time in NYC last year and I thought it was a pretty good idea and have no issues with it.

I like it but I pretty much watch what I eat all the time. It's easier to head off trouble that way. I've always known that salads are not always the most figure friendly choice but it's crazy what the calorie/fat/sodium count of some of them are.

I haven't seen it where Im at but would like it. I'm all for giving full information and then letting people make their own decisions.

I learned the only thing on the menu under 1000 calories at the Hard Rock Cafe was a small caesar salad. My family got a gf for Friendly's, and since I have a child with a food allergy, I went online, and decided, based on the calories (and the allergy), that we'd use it for a special treat of ice cream. It's very hard to find entrees under 1000 calories at restaurants.

I love it. Sometimes I am in a bit of denial :rolleyes1 about the calories so having a reminder helps. Also it helps put it in perspective, like that dish looks good, but is it a days worth of calories good?

I am optimistic that it will inspire restaurants to have more healthy options as well.

I like it because it reminds me of all the junk they must put into the food at those chain places. How come I can make a very similar meal at home and manage to make it so much healthier? What on earth do they do to it????

I like it. It hasn't showed up around here except I saw calories on the menu at Bob Evans. It helps me make better choices since I calorie count to lose weight.

I hope that also but I do wonder how you are in denial Mama!! :rotfl:

It reminds me of those obese students who were trying to sue mcdonalds for making them fat. One of their defenses was that they didn't know fast food was fattening? I know I shouldn't be surprised but even without knowing the exact calorie count, I'm pretty sure a slice of cheesecake factory "lindas fudge cake" is not healthy eating.

I rarely read them as I try to eat a balance diet at home, and we don't eat out daily so no matter what I eat when I go out it won't throw a diet out of wack but I do like them for the fact that a previous poster said, more information is always good.

I have a love hate relationship with it. I like that it's on the menu but it definitely prevents me from getting the thing I usually want.

Hey Low-key!:goodvibes

Our county passed a law requiring calorie counts on the menus here about a year ago. What an eye opener! :scared1: I think overall I like it, because I've definitely found out that some of the "helathy" choices i made in the past were not healthy at all. On the other hand I no longer have the excuse that I didn't realize how many calories were in a dish....maybe I'll just go to the next county for dinner!

It's a law here in Vermont too. I was appalled at the calorie count of salads, especially my favorite Mexican Explosion (or something like that) at Chilis. It was like 1200 calories! Who knew?????

So I went ahead and ordered a steak dinner instead. It ended up being the same calorie count and was much more satisfying.

I did forego the dessert though. I find it easier to say no to dessert than trading carbs for lettuce.

Yeah, I like it. I hate it when I order grilled chicken expecting it to be a healthier option and it comes out so soaked in butter and oil that I know it's not as healthy as I assumed.

This way, at least I'm aware BEFORE I order!

I like the way Ruby Tuesdays does it. They have the calorie counts for their under 700 calorie (including sides) dishes, but the others they leave off. So if you're trying to eat healthy, you can see what it is. If you're not trying or don't care, then you can't see how bad it is for you! win-win!

A restaurant near us has started doing it. I naturally tend to go for healthier options, but it has been an eye opener!

The only problem is at the moment is I am trying to save money, but I do enjoy going out to eat with my friends. So I then not only have to factor in cost, but also calorie content vs deliciousness too! Makes for limiting meals!

It does not make me change what I am going to eat, it just makes me feel more guilty eating it. But that being said, I eat healhy most of the time when I go out to eat it is usually to enjoy a splurge. I bet it is super helpful for people who have to eat on the go a lot.
