Has anyone used the Calm app? if so, what are your thoughts?

I haven't tried it, but I think DS might have, and the ads I've seen look good.

Yeah, the ads are what gets my attention. I do wonder if searching a nice video of jellyfish as LuvOrlando mentioned will do the trick?

I used to, but it does cost (I think at the time it was $59.99 a year, which isn't trivial). The sleep stories did help me sleep. However, I canceled after they did some cross-promotion with Gwyneth Paltrow's pseudo-science quackery.
So now I find just regular podcasts on Spotify, which are free and more educational (if they don't get me sleeping).

I have the app but haven't tried it yet. Our company was offering it for free so I figured I would sign up and try it. Sounds like the sleep stories are helpful.

The sleep stories are the best. They always knock me out in minutes, but I have to pick a subject I'm not interested in.

Love it - purchased it for life ! I have horrible issues sleeping and this has helped me hands down - no more medication needed just this !!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Worth it for me !!

I tried it, it's good, but I removed the app eventually. Youtube has so much more though. Binaural beats, white noise, environmental noise, sleep stories, you name it. Even faded radio chatter.

Actually, checking now, a number of sleep stories on YouTube actually come from Calm too.

I have a question for those of you that use these apps or watch youtube videos etc. for this purpose. Do they have a way to time out or do they just go on all night? Thanks.

Our office paid for it for us -- something about employee wellbeing.

I listen to the sleep stories every night, and have been enjoying some of the ambient/background sounds while I'm working (ex. coffee shop, thunderstorm, etc.). I haven't used the mediation parts or what seems to be training, but will get there.

I really do like it, and I'm not sure I would've used it if the office didn't pay for it.

I don't have the Calm app, but when I have fallen asleep to a YouTube video (I close my iPad cover and just listen, because of the blue light) I just turn off the auto-play feature, so it will stop after the video and not go on to the next one.

Lately, I've been falling asleep to Audible, though, and that does have a sleep timer.
