So just to double check it seems like the general consensus is that a new member can often successfully get their member # by calling DVC member accounting (i think I read that is option #2) approximately 10 days after the deed is recorded. Is that correct? I got an email this am that our sale had closed and Disney was notified. I checked the OC comptroller's website and see the deed was recorded on 2/9. However the email from the closing agency said it takes disney 12-14 BUSINESS days to complete the transfer. So before i start bugging anyone i just wanted to double check that it is typically sooner that you can obtain the info over the phone. Our contract has unbanked 2014 points that expire 3/31 so we are anxious to get our info so we might get lucky and actually be able to use them before they expire. Also is it typically 10 days or 10 business days after the deed is recorded?? Thanks in advance

I called member accounting and got my member number 11 days after the deed was recorded. It was 11 days, not business days.

It's option #3. The time can vary depending on the time of year. It can be anywhere from 10-14 days, maybe more. Start calling at 10 calendar days and call again each day until you're in the system.

I called 1 week after comptroller had it listed. I pressed 2, then 2 again. When I spoke to the MS person I used their name and tried to be as nice as possible, the first 2 tries I was just told to check my mail, but the 3rd try worked! She said I can help with that and asked for my contract number, she then checked and told me the contract was processed that morning and I would have to call back in 2 days to get more info. 2 days later on the second call, I was given my ID and all the info needed to set up online.

I started calling about a week after the deed was recorded/closing. At 10 days I got my membership and contract number, but my online access wasn't setup yet. I was able to book a reservation and buy my APs via phone though. Two days later I called in to get the online access setup just because I wanted to have it, not that I needed it anymore. I got my account linked and all is good. I still haven't gotten a letter or email from DVC yet about my membership. I'm excited that I was able to get it all setup and my reservations booked though.
