Anyone else interested in a Palo's Brunch on that Thursday?

Ginger - Were you also considering doing the Palo's Brunch on Thursday instead of Monday? I thought since Thursday was Halloween we were going to Lumieres for lunch after the T or T.

Dena - The excursion we want to do in Grand Cayman is the Shipwreck & Reef Snorkling and for Cozumel will probably be the Tulum & Beach Tour. I'm still considering XCaret though.

Jan - Did you notice if there was any differences in the write-ups on the Official Excursion list you received in the mail and what is on the DCL website? I know on the excursion list on the DIS the Tulum excursion doesn't mention the beach but on DCL it does. I was wondering on the excursions we're interested in if there were any changes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get that list in tomorrow's mail.

Emma - Wear what's comfortable!!! Enjoy. We'll be arriving in the old DCL bus. Ha Ha !!! :bounce:
Patty:earsgirl:

Well Patty I did say I wanted to dine at Palo's as many times as they would allow me to. Yes, you are correct, Thank You. I did make a mistake MONDAY is the day. I will go back and correct it.:D

PATTY: Sorry, but I did not study the book and the DIS print out that closely. I figured I would rely on the Disney info and if there was a discrepency chalk it up to changes made since the DIS list was posted.

We took the DCL bus twice and LOVED IT! The upholstery is fuzzy with a Cruise Logo pattern. The seats are COMFY. There are little TVs to watch a cruiseline video. One time the driver asked if anyone wanted to see the ad or would we rather watch a movie. We voted for the movie and watched 101 Dalmations.

Jan - Sorry, I was trying to be funny referring to the bus as being old. We did ride them on our first cruise and they were very comfy as you said. I do remember our bus to the ship wasn't in the best mechanical shape. My husband complained about how bad the shocks were but still was able to fall asleep during the cruiseline video. Wasn't it a beautiful sight when you first saw the ship? Patty :earsgirl::teeth:

PATTY: I did not know if you were trying to be funny, or if you had never been on the bus and did not know how nice they are. Our buses had good shocks I guess--we had a comfy, smooth ride.

I was so excited when I saw the ship for the first time. And to see it up close!! What a thrill :D :)

How many times has everyone cruised with Disney?

Jan :earsgirl:

JAN This will be our 4th cruise with Disney, 3x's on the Wonder and our 1st on the magic. We also have #5 in January on the Wonder and #6 next Halloween on the Magic. Everytime We drive up to the ship I am amazed and excited!! And everytime we step onto the ship into the Atrium it just takes my breath away.:D

Hi all!

I have been such an infrequent poster, but that all is about to change. We got through summer obligations and I am so excited to start some serious trip planning now.

I have a question for all you that received excursion info in the mail. Did you book through Disney? Just curious, we did not receive this info yet. When we called our TA this morning, she said that Disney sends them out to people whom book directly with DISNEY or a TA that book directly with Disney like Cruise Holiday, and we can get the same info on line. As a DIS board reader I know we could get the info online, but I would also like to get the hard copy too! We got a great rate via a discount company, but I am beginning to wonder if we are really booked on this ship!

I am also curious as to what excursion people will be doing. In Grand Cayman we plan to do Captain Marvin’s 10 AM tour with Masonpips family. Anyone else booked this yet?

For Key West, like GINGER we are looking into the Trolley tour too, or perhaps the Glass bottom boat.

No thought on Cozumel yet. We are all very fair skinned, so spending the day on the beach would be a little tough for us! We have 3 and 5 year olds, and this limits are excursion options if we keep them with us.

Question for those of you who have order Ray’s 2002 Halloween Cruise shirts. What colors and styles have you ordered? They all sound good to me!!!!

EMMA: We have a party of seven, so we also plan to take limo transportation to the port. Have you thought about getting a shirt from Ray? Getting out of the limo with that on would be truly arriving in style.

Yay! I wont be the only one! haha! I think I'll just be wearing my shorts or, as my friends like to call them, hotpants! I cant think why they call them that!

Debby - Your kids are adorable!

Emma - Hotpants is a term used for short shorts and was used back in the late 60's & early 70's. (When I was about your age)

Lynne - I booked thru AAA and haven't received any excursion info in the mail yet. I'm anxious to receive it but not panicking yet. I thought I read on the DIS you should receive the paperwork about 65 days before the cruise. I'll be going to my TA on Wednesday to make my final payment so if I don't received anything by then I definately mention it to her. I ordered a white tee shirt with spooky green writing. I did ask Ray what colors were most people ordering. He said purple and white mostly.

Jan - This will be our 2nd cruise. The first was the 4 day cruise on the Magic back in December 1999. When we were on the ship DCL made the official announcement that they were going to be doing a 7 day cruise. I told my DH our next cruise would be the 7 day, 4 wasn't enough. Now with all the activities I have planned on doing I'm thinking 7 isn't enough!
Patty:earsgirl:

Ok, I *think* I know what we're planning assuming we get APLAPLA rotation. We'll do AP the first night (show), try to do Palo's in Key West (great place to watch sunset?) and stick with the rotation from there on out. The only issue here is having brunch on Monday after dinner there Sunday - oh well! LOL

Our back up Palo's nights will be Tues or Wed - neither the Master Chef or Mexican nights thrill me menu-wise.

Now, knowing my luck we'll be given PLAPLAP (but I think this is typically "middle aged kids"?) and I don't like any of the options for Palo's!

LYNNE: Our Cruiser shirts are purple polos, as are Estelle and Phil's.

EMMA: HOT PANTS were usually bright colors--ie: hot colors and hot fashion and very much of a guy magnet, therefore, hot. So you are retro in your fashion choice and name.

DEBBIE: Great picture!! How did you do that??

Jan :earsgirl:

Actually thinking back, I can kinda see why they thought some of my shorts were too short there was 1 point on holiday where they were showing my bikini bottoms! But I got kinda worried when they said that the longest pair I own were hotpants!

Debbie-Aw bless! I love little kids, well when you can hand them back at the end of the day that is!

I got my DH to look at the info on the excursions on the DCL website. He agreed with me on the Shipwreck Snorkling so that's all set. He narrowed it down to 3 for Cozumel. Xcaret, Tulum and the Jeep Tour. The Jeep Tour does sound like a fun adventure. Is anyone here doing that one? Well, I'm so glad I've got the seed planted in his head. Hopefully by the end of the week we'll have it narrowed down to one.

Debby - What are Mason and Lauren dressing up as for T or T?
Patty :earsgirl:

What are ppl thinking of going as for halloween? Im having a rethink about what to go as. Hmm....

Well we're back!!
Seven days of mostly hot weather. We were in North Conway New Hampshire (more or less) in a rented condo. The temps. ranged from about 65 to 97. Thank goodness the last requirement on our list of things we had to have was air conditioning. We did have one short period of 51 degree weather. We drove the mini van up Mt. Washington. View was fantastic. The DD (22) was NOT a happy person. She was on the outside going up and had the LONG drop on her side. She and her Dad aren't real good with heights.
We got the final bill while we were away so will be paying today.
I think we would like to do lunch at Paolos, spelling is not one of my areas of ability. If the option is still there please count us in.
Emma arriving in a limo would be so cool.

I may be able to bring Hot Tamales and of course Peeps and an assortment of other Just Born candies. I don't think there are any nuts in them because none of the candies that they make have nuts in them.

We haven't done any thinking about the excursions. Phil wanted to concentrate on the New England trip before he started on the next trip.

I had 4 count them 4 Lobsters. Almost as good as Key Lime Pie.

Only 4 pages since we left. Good to be home.

Estelle

Debby your children are so cute.

This will be our 5 Disney Cruise. One on the Wonder for 3 days, our first. That's when Bill decided that cruising was the only way to vacation. The rest have been 7 nighters on the Magic.

Estelle you're a woman after my heart. I love lobsters even more than Key Lime Pie. Welcome Home! I placed your names on the Brunch at Palo's list. Please email or PM me your last name so I can make the ressies for you.

Lynne, I have purple and white tees made by Ray.

Off to the gym for me see you all later.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc got 2 more off.

Pappasitos (3x)
Childrens Museum
Galleria
FAO Schwartz
West Oaks Mall
3 Brisket git-to-gethers
lots of family
swimming pool almost every day
family pictures

Did I leave anything out? It was a great two weeks. And now to focus on October!!!!

Have already started picking up things like waterproof cameras and film as we are in Walmart. Try to do this over time rather than all at once. Need to find another bathing suit, I snagged mine in Houston.

Excursion fax day is getting closer.

A branch of our family is going to WDW for Labor Day. We are not going with them this time though. Saving money for Oct.

Deb, congrats on the new job and great pic of the kids! Very cute! Also, I am thinking we will have ALP. We did last time. I am still undecided about Palos. Possibly Key West night. We will try and get brunch and our surial early in the week. This will be DDs first time in the Club, and I want to make sure we get our stuff done before we learn whether she likes the clubs or not. :)

ehtpnt: I would not have been happy with the long drop side by me either. ANyone ever do the road to Hana??? ANd I may have to move in with you...JUST BORN CANDIES???HOT TAMALES???? OOOHHHH
Ooooh Lobster and Key Lime!!! Yankee Candles makes a great Key LIme candle. Yummy

Anyone know yet if they will be changing semi-formal night?

I think I saw it here...but I also loved that Disney Snob post. It was too funny.

Hope ya'll have a great start to your week!

Go Texans!!!!!

ESTELLE: Welcome back. The lobster sounds wonderful. When we drove into Yellowstone though the northeast entrance, I wished I had bought the button we saw in the gas station before we started up. It said "I survived Bear Tooth Mountain Pass" and the letters were all shaky. I was on the outside :( as was your DD and although I wanted to look out and see the view, I was actually leaning IN while I LOOKED! Tom and the DSs thought I was pretty funny. We were in a 30 foot motorhome. My weight could not make a difference whichever way I leaned. But it did feel safer to lean in. :)

KAREN: Glad you had such a good trip. :) I posted on DISNEY SNOB too. I liked what you said. For anyone interested, here is the link:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=191947&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

For our excursions, the top contenders are: Catamaran Sail and Snorkel as it is the one we did in Key West with the MAGIC in 1999 and LOVED IT! In Grand Cayman we are thinking of the Shipwreck Snorkeling and for Cozumel we are discussing going to Chankanaab Park or maybe Playa del Sol on our own. We have our own snorkeling equipment.

Jan :earsgirl:

Hi all! Trying to catch up!

JLSE50: I got the pic to show up of the kids by uploading it to shutterfly and then putting that link in my signature - it's a bit big so I'll probably remove it in a few days.

pallamb: Mason will be Buzz and Lauren will be Belle this year - costumes bought and in the cruise box.

Goofydisney: sounds like you hit ALL the hotspots in Houston - great job!

ehtpnt: 4 lobsters? YUMMY! Now I'm starving!

Ginger: awesome on your diet! I can tell in my clothes that I'm losing inches, but the darn scale won't budge - oh well have 60+ days to work on it!
