Calling Halloween Cruisers!

Andrea, I suggest you keep your Disney party in a box & use it at your house. Maybe you could have a little Disney/Halloween party for your family or even just a special dinner with those decorations in your kitchen.

Karen, welcome!! I do believe that we plan to get together at the Radisson, but we have not finalized plans yet.

I think a meet at the terminal would be great!!

Patty, thanks for posting the dates/times for the World's Best Man-Made Wonders!!

Dan, I like the flag idea!

Masonpips- I'm wondering the same thing (if my ds will like the kids club so dh & I can check out the surial bath...) I'm going to reserve it anyways & hope for the best.

re: excursions
The only one I'm pretty sure about is swimming w/ the stingrays. That is almost a sure thing. Now I just have to decide whether we go w/ Capt. Marvin's or through Disney.

There sure was a lot of posting going on! I hope I got everything.

Salsa sounds wonderful! We have never been to Texas so anything sounds good! I think this year we will bring Jones Potato Chips, they are made right here in Mansfield!

Also we are bringing post cards of one of our prisons (we have 3)! The old prison is beautiful and has been featured in many movies (Shawshank Redemption, Tango and Cash, Air Force One to name a few!)

Here is a link

Hope you all enjoy!

Dan: Your idea about bringing some munchies from our areas sounds like a fun idea. Unfortunately Buffalo Wings w/Blue Cheese Dip and Beef on Weck won't travel well. I'll just have to bring more Sponge Candy. Ha Ha!!! Patty:earsgirl:

Has anyone checked this thread?
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=227868

It is about a restaurant that the MAGIC and WONDER pass as they leave the port. Wouldn't it be great if we were all on deck 10 in our green leis or Halloween Mickey shirts or regular clothes with flags or bubbles or whatever and someone was taking our picture and then posted it on this site for us to find and download when we got home?

For those of you wondering about your kids in the clubs don't stress it. When you check them in before your spa treatments tell the kids club counselors where you are going also don't take your beeper in the spa room with you lock it up in the locker. They'll handle any problems that come up. The surial bath is a brief 60 minute. If that is what you have planned be warned listen for that first knock cause on the second they walk in.

Debby please put us down for the T-or-T.

Jan Dave from Marietta has a map posted on his site with a list of local businesses of Cape Canaveral. Dave's Map

The Grill

I hope these sites work, I don't have time now to check them the baby is waking up. I will be back.

Well it is now an official event. As of five minutes ago Phil and I have a confirmed reservation at the Radisson for the 24th and 25th. That way Phil can get to visit Cape Canaveral before we sail off. This was a first for me since he usually handles reservations but he told me I could do this one and low and behold with only one small glitch I DID it. Now I am getting really excited.

Jan I want to know who gets to stay on shore and take the picture. I have an idea you might have trouble finding someone to take it and we can't be close enough for the picture to be recognizable (okay I can't spell). I think we might just be a small blot on the boat.
Anyway I plan to be somewhere at the Radisson on the 25th. Now someone can decide where we all should meet and what we should be wearing.
Got to sign off the dog has been yelping for a half hour while I struggled with the reservations. And I think her voice is getting desperate. Estelle

Maybe we could all meet by the pool Friday night...like 7:00.
Or has this been discussed already? Im on here so infrequently I may have missed that discussion!

If you check out the thread I listed before there are pictures and the ship is CLOSE. There are people who live near there like SHIRLEY at THE PERFECT GIFT who just might be prevailed upon to take a photo for us--I certainly do not expect any of us to stay behind or try to run and catch up with the ship.

Just a thought that a photo might be fun.

Maybe THE GRILL should be the Friday night dinner location. There would not be a Disney ship going out that night, but the location and food are supposed to be super. We still do not know if we would be there however, but you all can have a super time without us.

Sorry to butt in so to speak on your Halloween Cruise planning...but thought I would try to ask you all a favor! My DH and I are both AVID Halloween Fans and Disney Pin collectors. DCL always has such cool pins to commemorate the Halloween holiday. Would any of you fortunate enough to be cruising then be willing to pick up 2 or 3 of the pins? I'd of course be willing to send you a MO prior to your trip as well as pay for postage!

Please email me if you'd be willing to help another DCL addict...err, fan out!

stephanie@basowski.com

Thanks for letting me interrupt...we now resume to regular planning:p

Perhaps we need to have a designated pin purchaser for Stephanie so that she does not get overloaded and the rest of us know who to bug?

Jan :earsgirl:

thanks Jan! I didn't even think of getting multiple replies! DH and I were at WDW last year for MNSSHP, which was my first trip to WDW! Little did he know the monster he was creating! We did our first cruise in May, and I'm already booked for November....I'm sure Chicago will be getting quite chilly by then!

It's okay Jan I didn't know how close the ship was to the shore. So if we can find someone who would be willing to take the picture I think it would be a neat idea.
Just checked out the Grills menu. I could eat there for life with no trouble at all. Should be a fabulous meal.
We can certainly meet by the pool at 7 PM on Friday. By then we should have seen all there is to see at the Cape.
I think the idea of bringing some local food is great. I could be boring and bring Hershey bars. But we have a local/national candy company right here in Bethlehem. It is called Just Born and is known for Peeps. Maybe there will be Halloween Peeps. If not they also make a whole line of candies. Peeps would give the children on board a sugar high unlike any others. Estelle

About the Halloween pins sbasowski. As I recall on last years Magic Halloween cruise there was a limited amount of Halloween pins, you were only allowed to purchase 2 pins per stateroom.

Foods from our states, Maryland is know for it's Blue Hard Crabs. Don't get excited, I'm not going to bring any. We'll be arriving in Fla. on the 20th they would not be good by the time we all got together. Sorry!!!

Here's another good eatin place.

Rusty's nextdoor to The Grill. Do you think we can run back and forth cause I like a little from The Grill and alot from Rusty's.

I posted Kelly's in an earlier post but it's located in Key West.Kelly's

About what time will everyone be arriving at the Radisson on the 25th?

GINGER: The map page and Grill page worked just fine. Thanks for sharing! :D

STEPHANIE: Maybe I should be the designated pin purchaser since we live in Valparaiso, Indiana--neighbors. Where are you in Chicago-land? :)
AND--if they do the same thing this year and limit it to two pins per stateroom, we would have to see if anyone wanted one or none before we could promise to get any. ;)
OR--Stephanie--maybe you can change your reservation and come WITH US!! Then you can get your own pins and they would count more since you were actually on that cruise! :D

Do you think we could get a room on the ship for a gathering? Would that be a good time to share the food? A DIS party with our own snacks!! If we wanted beverages we ought to be able to arrange that with the ship. Room service is covered except for the tip--how would this be different? Anyone ever arrange a gathering--like a family reunion? What if we told them we are a family? Would that help?

Jan :earsgirl:
(Tom is playing golf)

Yea! Another Radisson guest!

We arrive at MCO at 4:28 p.m. on Friday. We'll get the car and hope to be at the Radisson around 6 or 6:30 so 7:00 at the pool would work for us or we could do dinner too.

Will traffic to the Cape be bad on a Friday evening? Remember, I live in Houston and it doesn't get much worse than this - LOL

Did we officially decide on green leis?

My cruise box is starting to fill up:
2 kids Pooh wheeled luggage (Disney online sale)
1 Princesses bathing suit + shoes (for DD)
Orange Duct tape for our luggage - easy identifier
2 Disney books (Unofficial Guide/Passporter)
snorkel/masks for kids (I have to find mine)
2 round ring floaties (Walmart - $.88 each)
1 raft floaties ($1.50)

Pretty good for a "just signed up" person!

DEBBIE: You are really on the ball!! Way to go. Getting ready is half the fun for me.

Howdy! Mickey Morgan's Magical Guide is like the online bible for the cruise.

http://hometown.aol.com/entropym/pages/index.htm

I printed it out for the last cruise, highlighted what pertained to us, took out the pages that didn't, and LIVED from it. It is awesome! It was especially helpful when it came to using Flounders Reef. (which we have since outgrown)

And I am finding the green leis. If I can find them, I may give them to those who are at the Radisson with us and let them pass them out on the ship. Considering we have a 3 yr old, I want to guarantee ya'll have them even if I can't get to the meet n' greet. But....I have to find them first. ;)

We meet the 9/29-ers around the pool at the Rad and then loved seeing everybody all over the ship!

We are so EXCITED about this cruise!

KAREN: Thanks for the info. I will check the site and book mark it. We like to not be heavily scheduled. Just to go with the flow since we are scheduled people the rest of the year. But it is fun to read the options now.

We have been on two MAGIC cruises--a four nighter and a 7 nighter and we have never been to a spa treatment, never been to Palo. We have enjoyed being together and enjoyed the main diningroom. Each time some tablemates were at Palo we got to know the people who were left at the table with us differently. That was special.

Do you have party stores in your area? I saw leis at one a while back. Maybe we will have to all look for them and keep track on the MASTER LIST who has how many.

And--how far north is "upnorth"?
