calling experts and locals: to Vero

I previoulsy asked for directions to Vero Beach and was given good advice. Thanks! Take 1-4 to SR 536 to SR-417 to SR 528 to 95 south

However, I have been looking at a map of Florida and was trying to figure out a quicker route to Vero from the Boardwalk Villas. Could some of you locals and experts tell me if I should try the following.

I-4 to 192
Take 192 East
to 95 south or to route 1 south

It seems to me that it would be better for me to keep heading south/east on 192 than to go uo tp SR528

Now, of course, I am looking at a map so this may be totally crazy. Also, I am not sure about traffic.

We will be heading to Vero on Friday August 10. We can leave the BW at anytime. What will be the best time of the day to leave? I was thinking 9 or 10 am might be good.

192 will be like Rt. 1...lots of stores, lots of lights, lots of stops.

We took the scenic route from VB to WDW two years ago.

We had time and wanted to view the coast for a while and get lunch and not take an expressway. Our route was something like this...

VB north on route 1 to Melbourne (pretty drive)
Then took 192 west all the way to WDW.
The segment from rt 1 through Melbourne to 95 was slow (but we were still looking for lunch)
From 95 to St. Cloud was fine. I think at that point most was 2 lane but they were doing construction to make some 4 lane.
192 in St. Could was stop and go traffic
But 192 in Kissimmee was Horrid.

I would not, repeat NOT, go through Kissimee on route 192.

I would not do this particular route again. If there was a way to cut out Kissimmee and Melbourne (this could be done taking 95 instead of 1) then it could be a decent route.

Of course you would be going in the other direction.
