Now he needs to research & design & Power Point presentation on one of the following.

* Suitable

* Simple

* Flexible

* Accessible

* Cost Effective

OR
-
Effective Communication in the Workplace - what are the appropriate physical technologies & interpersonal strategies that should be used to maximise effective communication for an organisation of your choice? Show an awareness of the need for the chosen technologies & strategies to be

* Suitable

* Simple

* Flexible

* Accessible

* Cost Effective

Can anybody help out with any information??

Anybody??????????????????????

I'm not sure I understand the questions

By records management systems do you mean how the company handles things like accounts receivable, account payables etc.?
And how the actual physical paperwork is handled?

Robin from what we can gather from the assignment sheet, it would seem that it is how the paper work is kept & what kind of filing system is used, it's efficiency, cost effectiveness etc.

Well I can tell you how our company does it if it will help you at all?

Record Mangement systems are typically used by businesses with lots of paperwork of importance that needs to be kept.

think of law offices, doctors, hospitals, engineering firms, governement agencies, etc.

sounds like he needs to pick a type of business, then go research some of the packages available, pick one for his type of business and justify why.

Do a google search or go to the library, there a many packages out there. I think that there are probaby a lot that are specific to a business, so suggest he pick a business first.

Wow thanks for that robsmom. We were the blind leading the blind, but know I feel I can offer him something to go on. He has to tell his teacher on Friday which one he is doing.

I'll do a google search & see what I come up with.

get you guys started.

Chronological, Numerical, Alphabetical, AlphaNumeric.

For a hands on type, have him go to the Library. It's the biggest filing system I know of!LOL

Good Luck with the Project!

Thanks Scratch:scratchin :scratchin :scratchin

Neither of us actually understands any of this, then there is the Power Point presenation to be done as well.

I've been to Google & found a good site from a lady who wroked in a US Healthcare firm. I kinda get the idea, but still not totally understanding it all.........Need to do some more reading & lots more learning, so I can help him.:scratchin :scratchin :scratchin

Hi Nutsy!

Wish I could help but my office is supposed to be paperless so there really is no physical filing system. All procedures and records are kept online and there is a system they follow but darned if I know what it is!

All of our communication is via e-mail....no paper memos, etc. The system is only as good as the computer systems that back it up. When the servers are down we have no access to any information.....both in e-mail and in procedures.

Best of luck to your son..and you....for his project! :D

HI Gail:wave:

From the website I found electonic filing is one of the ways.........paperless!

Blowed if I know just what all this means tho.........I need to do lots of reading & trying to understand.

Apparantly none of the kids actually understand this asssignment, but they have to know by Friday which of the two they are going to do their presentation on.:(

Mind you, he only got the sheet yesterday (Tuesday).

He can do the presentation on how a computer works!

It is the most cost effective way of communicating. IE, sending multiple e-mails to multiple persons at one time!

Don't you just love these projects!:rolleyes:

What a good idea Scratch, but I don't love these projects. They are a nightmare:eek:

I'll be so glad when he has finished school & all these projects that are over my head:D

Thanks so much for your help, you've put it into everyday language for us.

:D
