We're looking for a new signature restaurant to try on our next trip. We've done them all except Jiko and Bistro De Paris. We're staying at the AKL in an upcoming trip and will try Jiko then, so our last to try is Bistro.

For the Bistro veterans - I understand that Bistro is a 'cut above' most of the other signature restaurants. They don't have a kids menu for starters. Is it wildly inappropriate to bring kids to an early dinner at Bistro? They've been to all of the other signatures with us and have behaved fine.

Thanks for the help!

1) I rarely see kids at Bistro.
2) The lack of a children's menu is not by accident.

We are a family of 7 and ate there last summer. The youngest at the time were 12 and 15 and the restaurant offered them kids meal options, which they were happy about. While there weren't many kids present it didn't seem to be a problem. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. The food is very good and I would suggest you go ahead and try it. Do not be intimidated. Enjoy!

Bistro is my favorite place to eat in WDW and we go every trip. While children are allowed, it's not a great place for them. You did not state the age of your children but I've never seen toddler aged children there. The meals are lengthy, the waiters are in tuxedos, the setting is intimate yet formal, the menu is sophisticated. People dress up here; you won't see jeans, capris, dress shorts, etc. on 99 percent of the diners.

DH and I will spend over $500 for a dinner there, with our wine, so we appreciate that we don't have to have it spoiled by loud children. I don't blame the children but this is a place where they will be bored very quickly. Dinner is not a quick pace as this place is designed to sit and enjoy the courses, not rush through them.

We recognize that it's WDW and there are a lot of children but there are a few places that are still more adult oriented; V&A, Bistro & JIKO. I'd like to think we still had those few places to go to sit, relax, drink a bottle of wine with great food, some of which is prepared tableside and be able to hear each other talk.

I think it depends on the age of the children.

I agree I have never seen any children there but I think if they are older children and they would not bore easily it could be fine.
