If you were going to splurge a little for a 3 night stay, would you pick the WL, YC, or BW? I have not stayed at the YC or BW before. I will be traveling with wife, son (9), and friend of son (8). Weather looks to be swimmable. I'm a little concerned with the lack of fast food at YC and BW. Any thoughts?

Given the fact that you will have the 2 children along and their ages I would do WL. They will love it!

They have a nice snack bar, great pool and the theming of the resort is great. Their jaws will drop when they see the lobby.

Not that the BW and YC aren't kid friendly...They will just think the WL is "cool".

The restaurants are good and the snack bar usually has some pretty good offerings.

You've got the boat to MK and a lot of water sport activities to participate in.

Have fun

I've stayed at WL, BC and BW and have enjoyed all three. I think in terms of theming, WL is great (as I guess you would know since you've already stayed there). In terms of convenience, however, I would recommend either BW or BC/YC. Being within walking distance of 2 parks for such a short stay would really be an advantage, imo. Since they're not little kiddies, your ds and his friend would probably be pretty interested in spending time at Epcot and MGM, and there's lots of stuff to do around the Boardwalk that would be fun for them at night, as well. The greatest thing about BC/YC is the pool. The 8-9-year-old set would be the ideal age to take full advantage of the awesome facilities there. The BW pool is ok, though imo nothing too exciting (basically all they have is the big slide)... So, while I love the theming and overall feel of the WL, I would still opt for an Epcot resort because of the convenience factor on such a short trip. My favorite Epcot resort is definitely BC/YC, so if I were you, I'd go that route. BTW, I have a 7-year-old ds, and although he really enjoyed WL, he loved being in the Epcot area during our last trip! He said the slide at WL wasn't steep enough -- LOL!!! :)

Have a great trip,
Sarah

I haven't stayed at BW yet, but have stayed at WL and YC. We really enjoyed both resorts, but the YC is our favorite :D ! DH and I just stayed there in November for a long weekend. We LOVED the resort, and found the location to be very convenient.

Thanks for the help. We've narrowed the list to the EPCOT resorts, BC, YC, BWI. Any other opinions are welcomed.

I vote for BC. That's actually the only one we've stayed at out of all 3, but I prefer BC over YC because it's brighter and has a more casual feeling (although the valet guys are great at YC:)-I'm just talking physical appearance. BW is a little too busy for me. I like visiting there but would rather not stay there.

We stayed at BC on our honeymoon and loved it, plus we were VERY close to EPCOT that we could walk there in 5 minutes. The YC/BC pool is amazing, probably one of the best themed pools anywhere.

I've stayed at all three, and it's a tough call. I think I might lean towards the WL for your specific trip due to the ages of the boys you'll be taking to WDW. (Though the YC is one of my very favorite WDW resorts.) The WL is close to the Magic Kingdom, where I imagine you'll be spending the majority of your time. Also, the decor would probably appeal to the boys a lot--very woodsy. Also, having a snack bar is probably pretty important with boys that age (though there is a pizza window at the BW I believe). That said, the pool at the YC is the coolest pool on WDW property, so if that's important you might try the YC. Good luck choosing! :)

I have stayed at WL, BC, and YC. It's a hard choice - the WL and BC are my favorite resorts. The boat ride from WL to Magic Kingdom is really nice as well as the themeing and great pool. (favorite pool and best theme in WDW).

The Epcot resorts are walking distance to 4 other resorts, MGM, Epcot, Miniature Gold, and Boardwalk which makes it a great choice as well. StormAlong Bay is always a hit with the kids. Either way, try to get a water view room. Boardwalk view at the YC/BC or Lake View at the WL. The view from these rooms has always been the highlight of my trip, especially if you are able to get a full balcony. You will definitely not be dissapointed at either of these resorts! I felt the Beach Club is much more "kid friendly" than the Yacht Club.

Also the rooms at WL tend to be around $100 cheaper a night if money is a factor.
