DH and I are finally going to V & A Otober 26th. We have been to WDW 30+ times but somehow never made it there. I am a little nervous since we hve never been. I really don't know much about the restaurant except for a few things here and there like price, dress code, the basics. Please help me chase the jitters away with your tips/suggestions. Looking forward to the replies! :goodvibes

Hi,

We've eaten at V&A several times, both in the dining room and at the chef's table. Let me say, if you love incredible food, beautiful wine and excellent service, you will love V&A!!!

The food is creative and the choices range from an excellent steak to foie gras and caviar. I'm sure you'll find things you like -- and you might even be tempted to try something a little exotic and different. The service is professional, but also very warm and friendly (not at all snooty!).

The ambience is so romantic as well with large well-spaced tables and a harpist playing. (And, don't forget to visit the restrooms -- they're lovely, too!).

Most of all, there is no reason to be nervous. In our experience, the staff is dedicated to making you feel totally pampered. They seem to take a delight in seeing the customers enjoying themselves -- and they don't care at all whether you know that much about food and wine. They're pleased to guide you through the menu, the wine choices, etc., without ever making you feel that you know less than they do.

As for tips -- we always get the wine pairings, DH and I always order different things for each course so we can taste and share both the food and the different wines that get paired with our choices, and we always order the Kona chocolate souffle as one of our desserts (it's like eating a chocolate cloud!). The kobe-style beef is also excellent. The wine pours are very generous, so pace yourself on the wine. The rolls are outstanding but stop after one -- you don't want to get too full on rolls and butter. The portions may look small, but don't worry, you'll be quite full by the end of the meal. The staff will never rush you. It's a very relaxed dining experience, so take your time and savor each taste.

We went to WDW several times without trying V&A and even cancelled our reservation one trip because we didn't feel like dressing up! (Imagine that!) The next trip we wisely kept our reservation and -- wow! It's now a must do every trip.

Relax, let the staff welcome you and pamper you while you and DH focus on each other and all the reasons you are DW and DH! You'll have a lovely time.

I would say it's more of an experience....to say this place is a restaurant would be an insult. The service was the best we had ever had anywhere.....it was like our maid and butler were put there just for me and my DH alone:goodvibes very cool!!!! If I could afford it, I would eat there during every trip!!
