We just bought DVC at BLT after our stay at the Poly in March. I don't know why I didn't think to do a vow renewal . But have now decided we want to renew our vows due to some medical probs I may need surgery soon and we are not planning a Dis. trip until Nov. 2010..We are going to London and Kent at Christmas time to see my Husbands family and thought why don't we do it over there. I LOVE Kent we are staying in Tenterden and Love Tower Bridge We don't want to spend crazy money we just want to renew vows have our rings blessed with Kids and my neice and her friend who will be with us and maybe a few of dh family members and go out for a special meal any Ideas?????????? Our anniversary was May 8th we went to Boston for the night and DH gave me a new gorgeous Diamond Princess cut antique ring. I can't figue how to post them. Thanks Deb.

Hey Deb Welcome!! Congrats on your VR from a UK bride-to-be. 2010 is perfect, even though it's a year away, gives you plenty of tiem to plan!! Have you perhaps looked into the Escape side of the weddings (which I'm sure they do for VR's too)? The package is essentially the ceremony, cake, small drinks reception, flowers for you, button hole for DH, and then you can add on a private meal at any opf the restaurants. I've not been, but heard Victoria & Alberts at the GF is wonderful, as is the California Grill at Contemporary. Keep us posted on your plans!!!

We are trying to plan a VR in England either Kent or London we are going over dec 16-Jan 2. to see DH family. I could not justify spending 4000 on an escape VR when we just purchased BLT through DVC. We thought since we were going to Uk at Christmas lets do it there. If DH had his way we could do it at Arsenal and see a match at the same time.

Ahhh sorry, I mis-understood your post! :sad2: Oops! I'm not too sure on Kent & London venues, but I know there are some girls on here that live Essex/London way, so would have more advice. I know what you mean about Arsenal though, DF supports West Ham and would love to get married at Upton Park, but luckily he's given in on the Disney idea! Good luck!

Love your proposal!!!!!! My DH was happy going to Disney every 4 yrs then was pulled in when he saw both the kids in March when we stayed at the Poly, they had a magical vacation. I think he finally understood what I had been telling him about all of my Disney trips as a kid. Then the day after we went to view the DVC we had dinner at ohanas the music piped in the fireworks and a few pints and we had him sold on DVC! BLT yeah. Many more trips to Disney to come.

If you're going to be in Tenterden then you should definitely check out Chapel Down vineyard - this is where I would have looked first if I was getting married over here!

The restaurant does gorgeous food on their regular menu so I imagine that would be great at functions, and the surroundings are beautiful.

UPDATE: JUst checked their website and they have removed any mention of weddings, so perhaps they don't offer them anymore? Mind you, it is still great to visit for the wine tasting while you're in the area!

UPDATE 2: The restaurant has a new chef as of July last year, and has its own website which DOES mention the weddings! See here. Sadly, though, the prices seem to have become astronomical and they only do huge receptions now, no intimate vow renewals :(
