well i'm not actually engaged yet but i think it will be soon and as i would like to get married quite quickly i need to start thinking of saving up! would love a disney wedding and think it could work out cheaper than having one in the uk! it would be a small wedding(just close family- no more than 18 with us include) and so an escape wedding would be perfect! i was thinking of only adding a few additional extras to make it special but to keep to what is included in the package! has anyone done this and how much did you end up spending????

i think( well i bloody hope so) that the family would be sorting out their own accomodation and flights?

i was thinking around the £7,000 area- is this reasonable?

we are getting married in 7 weeks!

we are having a wishes wedding with 18 guests and ours is around £6000 but thats withough travel and dresses etc thats just the disney part

We are also having a wishes wedding with 12 guests. Our day is coming to roughly £8000 but that without the MK photoshoot and the photography as we are using an outside company. It would have cost less if we didn't have as many extra bits. That is also not including any of the travel.

im sure ive read somewhere that the escape wedding comes to about $4k for the very basic package - definitely wouldnt be able to do a wedding for £2k in the uk!!!

I know the cake upgrade is £50 (or $50??), but i've not seen a note on any pj's about what other upgrades cost.

Im in the same position as you and hope to get engaged soon and have a disney wedding, so I have a little tip: i'm making a list of things I read in all the pj's to remind myself to look into it when I can finally start planning (however far into the future)

I didnt realise the price you can get a wishes wedding for!!!

Hi,

I've cut and pasted from our expenditure spreadsheet all our extras and honeymoon costs to the basic $4500 package below. There will be 11 of us in total, and 12 for lunch as Randy is joining us as a guest.

Randy Chapman photography (6 hrs)
Officiant Kevin Knox
Marriage license
Stretch Hummer (5 hrs)
Corsage and button-hole for parents
1 extra bottle of bubbly
Grand Floridian Café
Yachtsmans Steakhouse/Le Cellier

Hair and make-up
Dress, petticoat, headpiece, alterations, storage
Veil
Jewellery
Shoes
Handbag
Suit hire
Steaming

Honeymoon
Parking (21 nights) and hotel overnight
Flights
Wk1 - 2 nights off property
WK2 - 5 nights Boardwalk, + 2 nights for Mom and Dad
Wk3 - 7 nights Caribbean Beach
Wk4 - 7 nights Port Orleans

Car Hire
Durango 21 nights with Alamo

All that lot comes to $16,000. If I take out the honeymoon costs it is just over$10,000 which includes $500+ for the stretch Hummer but not the cost of the Boardwalk. If I take out our wedding attire costs (hair and make up, dress, suit hire etc) the cost is around $7,000. I spent a lot of money on my dress!

The Durango is costing around $1,000 for the 3 weeks and is our treat to ourselves, but if we went for a smaller car the cost would be a lot less.

Hope that helps :goodvibes

OH MY GOD - £8k (roughly) for all that

Its just unbelievable how we get ripped off in the UK for just one day isnt it!

hey iv just got engaged so am still in the planning phase (from liverpool). i'v been looking outside of disney for the actual weddings . . u can get a gorge beach wedding with an archway. petals down the aisle, flowers, cake & fountain punch, photographer & 2 hour limo hire for around £1000. i was thinking of mayb doing this, getting an 8 room villa (around £500) for the guests and our 1st week, the grand floridian for one night (wedding night), 13 nights at pop century, all the attraction tickets and flights(for me and fiancee) and £1000 spending money, then a reception dinner at grand floridian all from around £5000. if you did really want the wedding in disney though the swan & dolphin is a much cheaper option - altho not as pretty as a beach wedding in my opinion. i was thinking of asking the guests (just close family) if they wouldnt mind paying for the flights . . . and this being our wedding present, they still get a holiday out of it, although i know already some older members of the family are worried because as of next year when UK residents travel to USA we have to go online 3 days before and give personal details which they will store for 15 years x x
