Calling ALL Texans!

I was born a Texan. I then moved to Oklahoma at age 8, and back to Texas at age 25, just after my wedding..................I have two Texan born sons too! My dh has lived in Texas off and on for his entire life. We love it here! We've just moved from Haltom City, to Keller (temporarily) and our house is being built in Saginaw. Those are all suburbs of Fort Worth. As a child, I lived in Lufkin and Texarkana (Texas side of course!).

Wow! So many texas people! :wave2:
Anyways, I live in The Woodlands. Its around Houston somewhere....lol :rotfl:

Ya got another Texan here! I was born and raised in Houston! Love it here, I can't imagine living somwhere else. But I didn't want to come home for a while when I was in San Diego. Good thing I got on the plane, I was SOOOO glad to be home!

Wow! I counted up how many people on this thread I've met in person, and I've met 11 of you thanks to DIS meets :). Hi, m&m's mom, planogirl, shatzjsl, Mr.BsMom, mommystieg, Mad4Mickey, slimplaw, janette, Carl, 4greatboys, and nativetxn :wave2:. Has Kathy posted on here yet ? We're going to plan a DFW meet soon. I'll post something in a couple of weeks when I have more details.

That's cool about Round Rock, Hound. I never knew that. Thanks for the pictures.

Gymbomom - I'm not positive, but I think I've seen Chad say he is a 20 or 21 year old college student, so that may give you a clue as to when he graduated.

Krista - I know I keep checking to see if Nebsky (Jeff), (I guess Mr.BsMom have represented the family), and Webmaster Kathy have chimed in here. There is still time. :)
I had no idea your DH was in the seminary. I sure hope I never used curse words in front of him. ;)

A DIS meet is definitely in order Krista. Just let us time and place (LOVE the Mystery Dinner idea).

Oh don't worry about that, Coral. Our group (www.mosaicfw.org) tends to have a slightly different view of "bad" words than your typical church member might. He hears "bad" words regularly :teeth:. And just to clarify - his degree was in music, not preaching. Although he does a little bit of everything at church - voluntarily and not for pay. He's an electrical engineer by trade.

How's your DH doing these days??

Whhh!! I feel better. I seem to have great tasting feet - I want to eat them all the time! :)
Billy Bob all better. Unzip you ya, add some new veins, zip ya back up and off you go. Scar is pretty small too. Who would ever have thought you could have a 12 inch cut in your chest held together w/ glue? Beats stitches scars.
BTW, this is appropriate for this thread because he had surgery in TX. ;)

Born in Houston. Went to college in San Marcos. Now live in Spring. I've been lucky to visit some other states but will probably always live in Texas.

Mary

How have I missed this thread???

Another born-and-bred Texan here, 5th generation! Born near Lake Texoma, I've spent most of my life in and around Dallas, with forays to Austin and to deep East Texas (Marshall and Longview). There were a couple of short stints out of state, but we don't need to talk about those! :rotfl:

I've been in Flower Mound for the past 12 years, surrounded by LOTS of DISers. I was behind someone yesterday who had TWO Mickey toppers on their truck, and I was wondering if it was a DISer we just haven't met yet. :teeth:

MEET!!!! SOOONNNNN!!!!

I'm so glad I started this thread! We sure have a lot of Texans on the DIS, we should plan a meet sometime soon.

Happy San Jacinto Day!

Boldest and grandest, withstanting ev'ry test
O Empire wide and glorious, you stand supremely blest.

God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong,
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.

Sends out its radiance to nations near and far,
Emblem of Freedom! it set our hearts aglow,
With thoughts of San Jacinto and glorious Alamo.

Another native Texan here! Born in Houston at Herman Hospital. Have lived in Houston, Buna, Silsbee (mostly grew up there), Beaumont, Port Arthur, and now in Bay City (for the last 18 years).

Anyplace else is nice to visit, but wouldn't want to live there- Texas is home!
Bay City Wow what a small town, I mean small world! :earboy2:

:wave2: Hi, everyone. Another native Texan here. I grew up in Arlington and later graduated from TCU. Any other Horned Frogs out there? I now live in Fort Worth, on the west side.

I was born in Anaheim, CA
We first moved to TX in 83 & then left in 87. We moved back in 91.

The cities we lived in (chronologically) were:
Houston (no comment)
Plano
Grand Prairie
-moved away-
Rowlett (again, no comment)
Allen
McKinney

My folks have since moved to Keller.

While I'll always feel like a Californian & wish Texas would have In-N-Out Burger & better alcohol laws, I think I'll probably stay here for a while.

Houston... Been a Texan all my life and couldn't imagine being anywhere else!!!

How did I miss this topic? ;-)

How did I miss this??? Texan girl born and raised! Born in Huntsville, raised in Conroe, this year I moved to Austin to attend the best Universtiy, UT-Austin! Glad to see a few Longhorn grads on here!! Hook 'Em!

P.S. I LOVE Texas (and more specifically Austin :goodvibes ) and I will not be moving by choice any time soon!! :cool1: (though I wish August would cool off a little bit for us lifeguards :sunny: )

I'm another native Texan! :wave2: I was born and raised in Austin. I lived in Waco while my ex attended law school and I did my internship in Fort Worth (loved it!). I have been living in Houston for the last 6 years. I live inside the loop so I really live in Houston! :teeth:

My DBF is moving to Abilene next month. I think he is in for a culture shock. Anyone else from Abliene?

Chicago born & bred  , but I've been in TX since July 1, 1988. Kingwood, Austin, Houston, Spring, & The Woodlands for the past (almost) 9 years. Married a TX boy about 6 years ago & we're raising (evidently) two little TX boys currently, expecting DS#3 in September.

I was hoping to move to Magnolia this summer, but it looks like we're being forced to move to Oklahoma City area this September/October. So if anyone is familiar with The Woodlands area and Oklahoma, please PM me--I have questions!
