It seems we have quite a lot of Texas Dis'ers. :cool1:
Where in Texas do you live and how long have you been a "Texan"?

I live in Wharton (60 mile southwest of Houston). We moved here from Dallas 5 years ago. I have been a Texan my whole life (37 years).

I live in San Antonio :teeth: My family is from here (both my parents were born and raised here in SA) but my dad was in the military so I didn't grow up in SA. I am attending UTSA and living at home currently :cool1:

Garland:

Lived here all 20 years of my life. I will be in Denton by the end of the year and then I'm getting out of Texas if I can help it! :rotfl:

Just north of San Antonio - we've lived here a little over a year. I like it a lot so I hope we stay awhile.

I have lived in TX for a little over 20 years.
I grew up in NM and moved to Lubbock for college and Grad school (Go Red Raiders!).
After college I followed my 3 older siblings to Dallas and have been in Flower Mound (N. Dallas suburb) for 18 years.
I guess the bumper sticker "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could", applies to me. :)
I am sure I will be here the rest of my life (not even 40 yet).

Born in Amarillo, moved to Arkansas for 13 years, moved back to the Dallas area in 1986. Hope I never have to leave Texas!! I love it here.

We live in Friendswood, it is between Houston and Galveston. We have lived here for around 7 years, before that we lived in La Porte Texas, it is due east of Houston. My parents moved here in 1963, I was 3 at the time (I guess I just told my age! :earseek: ). My DH and his family moved to LP in 1968, he and I graduated from high school together.

As I just posted on brerrabbit's thread ... I love being a Texan! :goodvibes

I was born and raised in Texas for the last 33 years, live in the fourth oldest town in the state which is Daingerfield Tx, which is about 160 miles east of Dallas, would like to move to Orlando when I retire and work at Disney World!! :teeth:

Round Rock, just north of Austin. I moved to Austin from Williston Vermont with my Mom and Dad back in 1980 to attend the University of Texas. I later moved to Round Rock when I bought my first home in 1988.

I'm a Texan living in South Carolina. I grew up in a small town called Quinlan. It's in Hunt county, near Lake Tawakoni. My parents live in San Antonio, and my in-laws are in Godley (outside of Fort Worth, near Burleson where Kelly Clarkson is from).

I live in Ft Worth. I was born in Houston, but moved a LOT when I was a kid. We landed back in Texas in 1981. Can't imagine living anywhere else (ok, maybe in Aug/Sep, I can imagine living somewhere cooler... but other than that... :teeth: )

Just north of San Antonio... on the edge of the Texas Hill Country..

We've been here since 1992... it was 13 years this Valentine's day.. :flower:

If it's up to me - I'll stay here the rest of my life!! I LOVE living here..

I live in Frisco, Texas to the north of Dallas now but formerly lived in the Houston area. And even though I'm actually an Air Force brat, I consider myself a Houstonian since I lived there for so long.

Moved to Carrollton in 1996. Wish I still lived in Tulsa though.

We live in Cypress, Texas--25 miles NW of Houston. We moved here 3 years ago from Wisconsin. Everyone asks how we managed our first Texas summer?? Well, I was pregnant with twins. It was hot, but I think I was expecting worse, the way people talked about it. We decided that we needed to put in a pool by the end of the summer, the community pool was just not cutting it!! So, I guess that is how we handled it.

We have done a lot of exploring of Texas since we moved here. We actually did our first camping trip to the Hill country last weekend. It is so pretty in Austin and beyond! There is so much to see and do in this state! I love it! :sunny:

I grew up in Oklahoma and moved to Irving in 1995 when DH and I graduated from college in OKC. In 1999 we moved to Fort Worth so DH could go to seminary. I like Tarrant County MUCHO better than Dallas County. I couldn't wait to get out of there, and now I don't like going back except for an occasional outing. Unfortunately, DH still has to drive to work over in Carrollton :(.

I like TX because of the warm weather, and wouldn't want to move anywhere with real winters. But I do wish we had some mountains, hills, more evergreen trees, etc. I like how most people in Texas or from Texas originally are proud of the state.

Some of y'all are close enough that you need to come to our DFW meets :rolleyes1.
