Hello:rainbow:
My DF and I would like to honeymoon for a week in WDW. We are thinking a split stay would be best and would like to rent points. We're thinking of staying at WL, AKL, BC. We are also foodies and like the deluxe dining so that we can eat at signature restaurants more frequently. Help us plan our honeymoon trip. Any suggestions, comments, advice. We would like a decent amount of time spent by the pool. Also we will probably buy hopper tickets. How would you plan this trip?:thanks:

We split our honeymoon stay among 4 resorts, but it was 12 days, so moving was a little less onerous. Disney will move all your stuff for you, so that part's easy. But I do recommend staying at least 2 nights in each place so you can settle in a bit and get a feel for it. We did a week on rented DVC points at Beach Club, another week on rented DVC points at AKL, with a weekend at Contemporary and our last night at the GF. I have alllll the details of our honeymoon here, including fun activities we planned and where we ate: http://disneytravelbabble.com/trip-reports/wedding/

I also have a ton of suggestions and advice for honeymooners in these two podcast episodes:

Split stays are great. I definitely second what was said above about giving yourself at least two nights at a resort to really take it in.

The trickier part of split stays is the ADR madness. If there are any ADRs you really want that are harder to come by (like Be Our Guest), try and line up that ADR as far out in the booking window for one of your split stays that you can.

With the resorts you're looking to stay at, it makes sense to try and line up the parks so you're visiting the parks closest to the resort you're currently staying at, but that is not 100% critical. Transportation to the parks from any resort is not so bad (unless you're like me and have the patience of a toddler when it comes to waiting for a bus). I would say though, for the signature dining at the resorts, try and line those up so you don't lose a ton of time resort hopping. We learned our lesson about trying to get from AKL to the Contemporary for a California Grill ADR one night (get a taxi or uber, it will be so much easier if you do this).

Plan more down time than you think you will need. You can always fill it in with something if you want to in the moment, but at least you won't feel like you're rushing around to make all your plans. Enjoy your Disneymoon! They are wonderful :)

Just a reminder that each stay will have its own dining plan and each dining plan's credits will expire on midnight of each checkout day so make sure you're using the credits properly, they aren't just pooled. Personally I would probably put the money you would spend on all those deluxe dining plans on a gift card and pay for your meals out of pocket, but then I don't always want an appetizer, entree and dessert at each meal
