Hi everyone! :wave2: Thought I'd jump in here-- I'm a 28 year old single female from Northeastern Ohio-- no kids, but I am a DVC member (I wonder if I'm the only non-married crazy person to buy into DVC???)

Just another vote for you not being crazy as another non-married, no kids person who bought into DVC two years ago! My first solo trip was this past December and then just again last month!

Has anyone else gone solo on their birthday? I don't plan a special meal (although I might hit Boma, if the mood strikes and the wait's not insane). I might simply hang out in Adventurer's Club at PI until it's time for me to pumpkin and drive back home.

Just catching up to this thread and wondering if you went ahead and did a solo birthday trip and got yourself a button? I did a solo birthday trip the week before your birthday and got the button and didn't feel silly at all, it was really nice since I was there by myself to have all the CMs wishing me a happy birthday! :)

Haha...I feel your pain. I'm 28, and since my mom passed away in December, I've spent a lot of time with my dad. We go to the same church, and for the longest time several people at church thought we were a couple LOL Anyway, if you guys would like to meet up at all when you're here, let me know...I live 10 miles away and love meeting new people.

I think it is funny considering that my daughter and I look so much alike, and she is still so young (she looks alot older though) I will PM you later with details about the trip.......I enjoy meeting new people as well..........If my job interview goes well in July I'll be moving to central Florida in August to be closer to my daughter.....maybe to your town!!!

How about a backstage, behind the scenes tour?

I bet she'd think it was really neat being able to go to some of the backstage parts of Disneyworld and see things many people never get to see. :) They offer a number of tours that allow children.

Or maybe a special dinner at one of the more "grown up" restaurants. I know when I was her age, I always loved when my parents took my brother and I to a nice restaurant and we got to dress up. :)

Another possibility is to set up something special through Gifts of a Lifetime. Maybe a park scavenger hunt?

Then there are always the just around the resort and parks things. :) Renting boats on Disney's lakes, horseback riding and carriage rides at Fort Wilderness. :)

Have a great trip! :)

We will have a great trip thanks to your suggestions! BTW the websites you suggested to me were great. Because she likes thrill rides so much, we are also looking into passes for US/IOA. Thanks Again!

This thread is such fun to read through! Finding out I'm not the only single, adult Disney freak (although I think I'm about the only one in Texas so far), and sharing tips from trips.

I would say, "Single Travelers Unite", but that seems contradictory, some how... ;)
Nope, buckeroo! Here's another Texan close by! :wave2:

Hey -- have you been to any of the DISmeets? We just had one and have another one planned coming up in July. :flower:

I just noticed this thread is almost up to page 30! Who knew it would go so far?

So I've been wondering- has anyone had any luck from the thread yet?

I ended up going out a day before the rest of my family (love business trips in Orlando on your birthday - don't you?). I wasn't going to get a pin, but when I had to show ID to use my credit card {buying my AP - Happy Birthday to me!}, the castmember gave me a pin and two use-anywhere Fast Passes! I put the pin right on and had a great time! I was treated like a princess: all evening - right down to free pie and a serenade on the loudspeaker at Aladdin's Flying Carpets! The birthday pin now ranks second in my book, only to the Magic Bracelets you receive on Extra Magic Hour nights! :cheer2:

disneyaggie - you're just up George Bush Tollway from me! I'm in Euless, just west of DFW!

I've only done one DISmeet - it was a cruise board one 2-3 years ago. Any details on the upcoming one would be much appreciated!

Whenever you want to be put on our "Party List" for DISmeets here in DFW, WebmasterKathy is the lady to tell! So is KristaTX.

Here's the information I have on the next one! Seems like fun! I have never done a Murder Mystery before. Hope to see you there! :flower:

I'm determined to have a good time, though because I'll be taking the bar exam the week before, and I'm sure I'll need a break!!

Good luck on the bar exams. As far as being the only non-married person to buy into DVC, well I am single and have a DVC ownership. As far as being crazy, well....I do my best! :)

My name is not Michael Bolton! I do have a red Swingline stapler and I've beaten my printer with a baseball bat though. You can call me Frank.

Hey gang! Not only do I love disney, but also I love all things muppet and pop culture. Im 26/f ,and being 6 feet tall I really am in some weird non dating material bracket. Did I mention I work in theater?

Just wondering what theater you mean? Did you see Beauty and the Beast at North Shore Music Theater? I worked on that one.
Hey! I thought I was the only 6ft tall single disney freak out there! I completely understand what you mean about dating difficulty...though I never really had a problem getting dates....finding a guy that loves disney & 6ft tall german blondes....now that's tough!lol
