I really need some room decorating ideas. I am only the helper and I am assisting the school art teacher who admits she is a perfectionist. We have to pay for all our own supplies. I am more of the simple, paper and find it in the garage type person. Throw it together in 5 minutes. The only thing not allowed is stuff hanging from the ceilings due to the local fire code. So far I got 4 rolls of blue floral paper from the dollar store. A few paper lanterns, 2 windsocks, a huge blue parasol and 3 littler fans from epcot. A calendar from a local chinese restraunt. I will cover the number part up and just keep the top design. A few panda bears etc. What are you doing that is cheap and simple. I think I have a vase out in the garage. I want to do a koi pond with blue material and fake fish., frogs and lilly pads etc. Help, anyone?

Our church had several cute doorways. My mom went over to my brother's, got some bamboo out of his yard (we're still wondering how bamboo got into a small town in Alabama:) ), put that in her doorway, found some panda beanie babies, and put those in the branches.
Someone also took foam noodles, painted them dark colors, and used them as a doorway into another room (think Japanese gate in Epcot). It was too cute.:) Good luck on decorating.
