I am all signed up for GSC, hoping all the stars will align so I can go. In the meantime, I'm taking a well-timed running break. Well-timed, as this is what it looks like outside here during the daytime right now..

We get a haze here that makes the air quality awful. :( They canceled a local race because of it last week. I can only go so long on a treadmill, and only FOR so long before going crazy!, so no distance running for a while.

Yikes that looks miserable! Hope it clears out for you soon. Every few years we'll get nasty smoke from wildfires and it is awful.

I just got a response from SparkleSkirts that they will be producing a solid brown sparkletech this summer. I need it for my Cinderella in Rags 10K costume for Princess weekend and for my Fawn the Fairy Tink costume. I just can't imagine running in anything other than a sparkeltech (yes I'm spoiled) so this is the best news I've gotten all week! :woohoo:

Ran my local half today. It didn't start until 8:30 am (no idea what the race organizers were thinking!), so it was pretty warm and humid. Ran with a friend - normally we start together, and if someone pulls back the other will go ahead - but she was hurting pretty bad and I was a little worried about her, so I held back and stuck it out with her. Later on I heard there were 5 hospitalizations due to heat distress, which honestly doesn't surprise me. It was a great race and alot of fun - but a start time of 6:30-7 would of made a huge difference!

Oh terrible! I don't understand why races- any race! Doesn't start by 7 at latest. Especially in the summer! Ugh

If anyone wants to check the blog I have info on the discounted park tickets listed now. Not as good as rD but.... Discounts nonetheless!

Wow, I was just looking at their website. I saw one pinned on Pinterest. I may have to order one to give it a try. Glad to hear a good review before I decide!

I've been in two 5Ks so far and they both started at 8!

I can see an 8:00 start for a 5k even though I would prefer 7:00 but definitely not for a 1/2. Our local last weekend started at 9:00!!! They had a full that started at 7:00 but the 1/2 didn't start until 9:00. It was warm Saturday and I spent all day with negative thoughts about the heat and the race the next day. I finally snapped out of it when it was overcast and 59 degrees at race time. We were very lucky it stayed cloudy until we were finished. I'll take the o-dark-thirty start time anytime over sleeping in and racing in the heat. Especially since I'm a walker with only a little running.

A 5K doesn't seem far until it is 80 degrees in Sacramento at 8:00am!

She can book any room for you- but for now she only has a block in POP, POR or CR. Those are discounted. Anything else is rack rate right now- discounts may come out later though.

Does she have 2 bedroom villas at CR or just the standard rooms? TIA!

Gotcha now! Sorry! I complain when it's 68 when I'm out there :-). Like someone said earlier, 45 until the race is done, then 78 for the rest of the day. Not much to ask for is it?

I know, right? Sacramento is just a special kind of hot. It feels like the surface of the sun sometimes!

I'm about an hour from Sac, but they have more races than my own area. Is this your first runDisney race?

There are lots of races in Sac! I did the Capitol City Classic 5k a couple years ago. It was my first race when I started running :)

I did the Tinkerbell half at Disneyland last January and LOVED it. Going for the coast to coast medal in 2014 with the PHM and the Disneyland half :yay:

Yes they do! I just wish I didn't have to get up so early to eat there!

Awesome! This is my first one!
