The Triple Crown!
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 LOVE it! Almost enough to make me want to do it. :rotfl:

So what is the course like? Someone was saying a lot if the 5K for Tink is similar to the half. Is that the case here?
The Royal Family 5K has been run through and around EP in the past - here's a map:

The 5K goes through WS, while the half does not. Unfortunately.

Am I just too crazy?
Maybe, but I am, too! ;) I'm planning to do both Donald and the GSC at this point. The time between should be fine, I think.

I'll caution this, though: be sure you and your manager are on the same page. Waking times, sleeping times, bathroom schedule, eating, parks approach, etc. I learned the hard way that that stuff is really, really important. Be clear about your own needs so she can make an educated decision... and ask her to do the same so you can see if it's the right set-up for you, too.

Can I join in? This will be my first 1/2 marathon anywhere.

Started c2 5k in February and have ran 2 5ks since. My average pace is about 11:35. Training now for a 10k in October (and well, the half!) SO EXCITED.

Will be coming with my mom, and the both of us will be running the Cinderella 5k on Friday. Am I NUTS for wanting to do this? LOL We booked a room at BCV today

Anyway, so excited to be here. I have lots of questions and am looking for a running buddy for the 1/2 , too :)

:cheer2:

Welcome to the Dis! Good job on setting the goal, now go get it and DIG DEEP! Michele

Thanks, Michele!

Question for anyone: The breakfast after the 5k. It says "disney characters"..does anyone know if the princesses are usually there? (Specifically, Cindy?)

Thanks

Update from Facebook on Princess Gate 2014: Someone (not me!) heard from RunDisney that those who early registered for Princess and GSC using the backdoor link opened in error over the weekend will get e-mails early this week that their registrations are being cancelled and their money refunded. They will be welcome to re-register when it opens on the 6th or 11th (depending on if they are DVC/AP or not).

Caveat Emptor: This is not first hand, I still haven't heard back from my e-mail to RunDisney but it has been posted on several FB running boards.

Thanks for the update. RunD didn't respond to my email, either.

Just FYI, my attempt to locate the Princess Half on active.com this evening came up with a null search! Seems they've removed EVERYTHING having to do with the race  I just went on to see cost of gifty items like pins and such. Did anyone jot those down?

So why, oh why did my boss call me today and say that I have to go out of town next week and will be gone all week?? I usually work from home so I was all ready to be able to register on the 11th when registration opens (not eligible for early registration) and now I am going to have to sneak it in at the office? I will be sure to take lunch right at noon! :goodvibes

Random question...what does everyone carry their stuff in when they run? I have a SPIbelt, which I do like, but all it really holds is my phone. Once my runs start getting longer, I will need to carry more. Any thoughts?

I have an spi belt too (Nathan) and I like it...but wondering about that same thing!

I use a SPI belt and 12 oz handheld water bottle to get me through a 12 mile run that doesn't have resources. Anything longer and I have to stop by my car or home and replenish.

I have an I fitness belt. I like it kind of. But yes it too is small for my long runs which I like to carry my phone with just in case. I have been known to safety pin my Gu to my pants or shorts.

My husband has a belt that has elastic loops on it to hold his gu and has a very small pouch but nothing big enough for a phone, maybe keys and id/cash.

I use a spi belt and it will hold keys phone gu and hang a Nathan water bottle on the belt. I'm going to have to get a second water bottle for my longer runs this summer.

I too have a Spibelt. This weekend did an 8 mile run. In it I had 2 packs of Cliff shot blocks (1st experience with them, love the caffeinated black cherry) and tissues (my nose always runs) and chapstick. I carried my phone and a water bottle/holder in my hands.

Next long run, 9.5 miles I will only take 1 pkg of shot blocks, tissues, chapstick and phone all in my Spibelt. I will continue to carry the hand held water bottle.

Love these boards!! So very helpful!!

I usually have a handheld water bottle, but I am rethinking it. I read an article in Runner's World about how it is a big no no because it throws of your balance and affects your form.

Hi ladies!

First time posting in the thread now that I am caught up on it! Joined the facebook group the other day.

This will be my first rD event, and my 3rd (well, unless i decide to throw any more in my calendar before the end of the year:goodvibes) half. So excited.

As for accessories, I wear a Fuelbelt around my waist that I put my keys, id, and cash in. I have a small handheld Nathan water bottle (The one below to be exact). It only holds 10oz but I have found it to be perfect. It closes around your hand so that you don't have to actively grip it, and the pocket on the front is perfect for my gu and half of a luna bar. I don't drink a ton of water while running because it gives me side stitches but this is perfect for a "shot" of water whenever I need one. As it starts to run low, I simply refill it at a water station (during a race) or I do my long runs at a park with a 6 mile loop so I leave a bigger bottle in my car to refill from. It has worked perfectly and is probably the best accessory that I've bought yet. As for my phone, I have a sport armband but I'm starting to think about getting one of the belt attachments for my Fuelbelt because it really is just kind of annoying.

I use an arm band for my phone so I can listen to my music, and it has a pocket for my key. I carry a bottle of water, its annoying but I don't like the feeling of the belts :upsidedow They always tend to bunch up on me and just irritate me, so I carry a bottle :thumbsup2
