Calling all Princesses! (2014 Princess half marathon board)

I didn't get to run the Princess this year but now looking at 2014. Does anyone remember if the rooms had any kind of discounts during this week this year?

I got a discounted package from run Disney. They have discounted tickets as well if you prefer a room only reservation.

Registration is coming up!! I have heard that there are discounts or perks of some sort for DVC members and/or Disney Visa cardholders. Can someone clear this up for me? This is info I wish I had the last time I ran the princess! Oh well, any help is appreciated. Getting excited

My dd and I are doing a 10k on Saturday in South Fl. It is a women's only run. I saw pictures from the run last year. They had men in coconut bras and grass skirts at the water stops. They also have firemen at the finish line. This year they are having a "Magic Mike" water stop. I am not exactly sure what they will be doing there.....stripping? Maybe that will slow down some of the runners and I will place a little better than usual.

This sounds like an absolute blast! I cannot wait for my DD to run with me. I hope she loves it too!

Not sure about Princess. Don't think they have posted the details. For the January weekend it was $10 off for Disney Visa. I'm pretty sure it was the same discount for DVC. No discount for AP.

Thanks for all of the ideas on ways to carry my camera, etc. I am going to one of our local running stores tonight to pick up a race packet. I will check out the belts while I am there.

Thanks ladies!! I thought this was the case (pre-registration) but I was so worried that I wasn't going to be able to get in because I will have to wait for official registration. I will be definitely be at my computer on the 11th primed and ready.

My dd is 22 and she has been running longer than I have. She ran track in high school. It is fun to go to these events with her, I think we keep each other motivated. (And then once we start running she leaves me in the dust!) I think she and my dh are going to do the PHM with me.

Nothing here in San Antonio as most of it was up by Dallas about 5 hours north of us. Just LOTS of heat....already 90's...who thought it was wise I do the DL half in Sept just to get my C2C ? !

So, early registration for AP holders is June 6. I have an AP, but this will be my first time doing early registration. Anyone know how it works? Will they e-mail us a link or do you just go to the AP page on MyDisneyExperience? I like to be prepared! Thanks!!

Don't count on the email, though they do send them (I've yet to receive one...) - get into the AP portal by 12pm on 6/6 and do some refreshing until it shows up

I am wondering if you can answer a question for me. You mentioned earlier in this or the GSC thread something about the active.com fees for the Dopey challenge being high. I know as a DVC member I get a $10 discount, but I am wondering for those of us that have to call the passholder hotline to register due to having he RFID cards, will we avoid the active.com fees altogether? Because that might be a bigger discount really,

I'm afraid with <22 days to go, I've hit the wall in my half marathon training. This happens every time. I get tired of doing the distance 3x a week and unfortunately since there aren't many safe places to run where I live, I am tired of the place where I run. I also blame my visit here and post-Disney depression:

Sad (or not) to say I didn't even do the 7 mile run I asked about on here - when that morning came the insides of my eyelids looked much better!!

But, I really want a good qualifying time for PHM registration so that keeps me motivated!
