Cait: That sounds real neat what your doing for your fam that's joining you!!

As for the WISH logo. Just remember the WISH is part of Disboards. Dis official color is lime green and so that is the kinda official color of the WISH racing team. Since the jpeg is out there you really could put it on anything you want, but again most of the WISH racing team wears the "lime" Dis color for our shirts. Please use the copywrighted logos that were provided by Sunny who was the one who designed them. She would greatly appreciate it.

I am keeping track of the Half marathon bib numbers only, this is in case we hear about corral placements. The 5K is not set up with corrals, so no need to keep a list. I sent an email out asking about corrals and placements to trackshack and hope to hear back from them.

Are the shirts with the logo to run with or for the meet, or the expo....? or can I just have the logo in a lanyard? the thing is I use my beloved old running attire for races

Well, i did it!! I finished my 10 miles in 2:26:10. I will take that!
I think it was stupid on my part though, to whip out my new sneaks for the 10 miler.. lol. I mean, they are comfy, but around mile 5 i started feeling rubbing on my heels, but it wasn't excruciating pain or anything, not enough even to really bother me much..
But, when i took off my sneaks after, i have 2 blisters (one on each foot, in the same place) where my outside of my heels are - not gross - bloody blisters, just the start of them though.. so i know they will spring up today.. :(
I have these sneaks already, so i know they work for me, and i probably should have used them to break in during my smaller w/o's - 4 milers.
The only other thing i can think of - is i put my gel inserts from my old sneaks in to my new ones (which naturally the new sneaks are not as "streched" out as my old ones) and i think that may have contributed to it all - since my inserts tend to ride up the side of the shoe a lil' bit, they don't just lay totally flat on the bottom.. so i pulled them out for now, and see what happens. I just may end up buying a new pair of inserts for the new shoes next week.

Congratulations!!!! 10 miles in a tm can be challenging, how do you keep yourself motivated and not getting bored? great accomplishment, are you going for a 12 next week, honestly 10 is a good distance so let the adrenalin work the rest....

My Valentine's gift is a pair of brand new shoes!!!! can't wait to run in them, yesterday he took me to see Carmen at the Opera House My husband:love: is fantastic!!! he also got me 2 pairs of socks one says Hottie, hope you all have a great Love and Friendship day.

Well I ironed on my Lime Green Ears which on hot pink are not Lime anymore. I am probably going to have to go get a white shirt. It doesnt look bad just dark.

The Wish Racing team logo is a front and back of the shirt type of design.

Guess you could do it wherever you want.

Tracy

I didnt put the WISH logo on. I was going to use the ears Stacey made. So I just need to decide if I like it or not. Leaning towards not...so I will need to get a new shirt.

Wendi, sorry you are having shirt issues.. :( Did you use the iron on stuff for darker fabrics? They have different ones for colored shirts/ vs. white ones. Just a thought.

As for when i am arriving, we land about 8:30pm on Thursday night, so probably arrive at the Poly around 9:30.

Congrats to all those who got out and trained today!! You guys are kicking butt in the times!! Geeez! I am amazed!

I'll tell ya, i realize i am new to the whole LD training thing, but i am wiped out. All day i have just wanted to lay down and relax - and nap! With the exception of 2 hours going to my mom's and sitting here now, i am just pooped! LOL I feel like anything that requires any kind of physical effort is just OUT. LOL

PrincessRunner - i don't know - i like the TM, i am a numbers girl - i like to watch how far i am going/ how fast/ speed, etc.. I just plug in my MP3 and rock out. LOL

As for my training, today was my longest - i am following the MFM plan, and next Sat is 8 mi. then the following Sat. is 5 mi. So i guess i am on my taper now. I know that ending today how i felt at 10 mi. i am sure i can do the 13. and like you said, i know the adrenaline will keep me going. :)

We're having shirt issues...DD wore her shirt to "test run". she did a LR yesterday and called today to say her transfer bled. She skyped me and showed me the shirt back which looks sort of tied dye around the iron on.

uh oh on the iron on malfunctions - I hope mine works out. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds like lots of malfunctions with it. Any idea what kind of iron on stuff you used? Maybe then I can avoid that? What type material is the shirt?

You may want to check your iron on to make sure it is made for your machine if you use a laser on an ink jet transfer it will run. I made Annette a quilt with iron on pictures of our trips on a cotton poly blend sheet and it washes beautifully. It never runs.

I did an iron-on on a tech shirt 100% Polyester.
I used the Avery 3302 Stretchable Fabric Transfers for Ink Jet printers.

Printed out 3 different designs each one about 3-4 inches long.
Used an old White Tech shirt that I knew I would not be using again.
The shirt was washed as instructed. (washed a few times as it was old)
As per the instructions...
*No water in the iron (yep, empty it out!), steam off.
*I used a wood cutting board with a pillow case over it as it states to NOT use an ironing board, glass, granite, concrete, heat sensitive or heat-retaining surfaces.
*I ironed the pillowcase.
*Put iron on the setting right before the Cotton setting. On my iron this is the wool/silk setting and let it heat up.
*Trim the design as best as possible and as rounded as possible.
*Laid shirt on top of pillowcase and ironed it to remove any wrinkles.
*Placed transfer with printed side down. Beginning from the edge, place iron on transfer and use small circles slowly going over the entire transfer. I used small pieces, so only ironed each one about 60 secs.
*Remove Garmet from the heating area to allow it to cool faster. Should be cool to the touch.
*Carefully peeled the backing sheet away.
*Stretch the garmet in both directions to allow for a softer feel.

Turned out pretty good. Next I will try to wash it and see what happens.

It kinda looks a bit faded, not completely solid with the colors.
Tracy

I did wash the shirt and it came out fine, the print did not run.

Remember everyone to NOT use any kind of fabric softener or dryer sheet softeners on your TECH clothes. This is affect the way it wicks sweat and after awhile the wicking will not happen!!! Wash and hang dry!! They will dry pretty quickly - this goes for the socks that have wicking material.

Great job to everybody on their training so far this week-end. I, of all people, never thought I would say that I was jealous that I couldn't get out to do a 10 mile walk. I am making myself take 4 days off!! It is so hard with the race so close. I am nursing my shins along and reading everything I can on shin splints. If wishing and hoping (along with icing and stretching) make it so, I should be o.k. for the race. On Tuesday, I am going back to the rec center track for a slow walk to test out these old legs. Keep it up everybody!

I read in a magazine that walking or running backwards helps with shin splints. I think it was in last months runners world

Meg, hope your SS heal quickly, i know those can be very painful.... :(

I am no help on the shirt issue...

I think i am wearing my Champion tank instead of my WISH lime shirt! I can't believe it.. i thought i would for sure wear my WISH shirt, but i really really like running in this tank.. Too bad it's baby blue. LOL I will print out my name badge and attach it to my race bib though..

They don't have a problem with us attaching something like that to the bib do they? Or i could just pin it to my shirt. Either way.
I know it's not my WISH shirt, but i am sure i will be hanging with the "cool kids" anyway, lol. I will have my WISH/princess Bondiband on though! ;)

The last week and a half have not been good ones for my training. I spent Tuesday Feb. 3 - Wednesday Feb. 11 in the Emergency Coordination Center for a computer virus outbreak at work. I worked 12-16 hours every day through the week-end. We finally got the virus under control on Tuesday the 10th after cleaning 1200 machines and reimaging 350.

Needless to say, I got absolutely no exercise except for the walks to and from the bathroom. I am trying to get myself back on track for the rest of the training. I need to decide where I should jump back in. I think the 10 miler is out but we'll see.

My bib # is 5056 for the 1/2 and 240 for the 5K. DH can't print his waiver because I didn't have his birthday in when I signed him up.

Only thing about bibs is that it goes on the front and someplace where they can see the number!!(This is very important if you would like to see the photos that the company ASI takes of you along the course!!!!.
The bib should have your name on it as long as you signed up in time. If your name shows - people will cheer you by name!! That's it about bibs. So you could attach anything you want as long as it doesn't cover your number.
