OK... I've made my reservations, bought the plane tickets, and made my ADRs. NOW WHAT??? I can't just sit around and wait until mid June and do NOTHING!!! Any advice???

Have you made your lists of 'must-do' activities and rides? This is always fun with my son.
Have a great trip!

How about deciding which counter services you want to hit. Or for even more research, view all the menus and decide what you want to order!

Start a shopping list for all the things to take with you. Don't forget to include some surprises.

How about walking on the treadmill while watching the Disney vacation DVD...this brings a little disney into my meager exercise routine.

You can make Touring Plans for each day and each park - I laminated mine last time. (My DH thought I was nuts.)

You can make Mousekeeping Envelopes

If you have kids, you can haunt Target, Michael's and the Dollar stores looking for Tinkerbell gifts to leave for the kids each morning.

If you have a rental car, you can keep checking the price to see if it has come down any.

Join Tour Guid Mike. He has some great advice and lots of things to occupy yourself with until June!

Good luck!! :hourglass

You can shop for airplane or car ride toys and activities.

Go to Home Depot and get some LIME GREEN Mickey ears and laminate them...make sure that you get enough for everyone in your party so you can display yourselves as proud Disers!!! :thumbsup2 Also get together a list of some things you can't be without @ WDW such as, sunscreen, bandaids,Advil, extra film, baggies, quarters for washers and dryers etc. Have fun! :thumbsup2

We also went to the $$ Store and bought about 3 pkgs(6 in each pkg) of Glow-in-the Dark bracelets/necklaces that we used at night and passed out to other little kids (with their parents permission) to spread some Disney Magic. It saved me money by buying them ahead of time and my DD9 had a great time passing them out to a few kids each night that she thought might like them, too. We also bought $$ Store Wedding Bubbles (12 per pack) and passed them out at the parks when we saw someone who might enjoy them. Tired and fussy toddlers while waiting in the long lines for rides or for dinner reservations. We had seen a thread on the Disboards last summer on how to spread the Disney Magic and these were a few ideas that we used during our visit and enjoyed doing !!! :thumbsup2

Buy ribbon, paint etc... to 'decorate' your luggage so it is easy to see on the turntable at baggage claim!
We tied neon green ribbons to ours, and boy does it make it easier to see, whether on the shuttle, baggage area, anywhere!

Read allll the books you can!!

HAVE FUN! :yay:

How do I "join Tour Guide Mike"?

I started scouring my favorite websites (DIS, AllEarsNet, etc.) for tips and pasted them to a Word file so I'd have them all in one place.

I also typed up my own packing list, referring to the Ultimate Packing List to make sure I have everything accounted for, and noted what I've purchased specifically for the trip, other things I have on hand already and what I still need to buy.

Heck, my trip isn't till 2008 and I can't do anything but visit the DIS boards.

* It's too early to make reservations
* Already have packing lists (for trip & what to take to parks)
* Made small daily itinerary on business cards for each day (what park to visit, where to eat, reservation times & confirmation #'s - when I get them) and will laminate closer to time
* Mousekeeping envelopes already made
* Budget has been updated, rechecked and looked at each day

Now I'm just waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

Guess I could start packing some things but then I guess that would be too much???
Can you say I'm an over-planner?

Make travel journals for any kids travelling with you. Also, autograph books, itinerary cards,t shirts... Check th :woohoo: e creative DIS section @ the community board.

Hello julsmom,

To join Tour Guide Mike, go to the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies page here on DIS. There is a link at the top of the page. I forget how much it costs, but we felt it was worth every penny! :thumbsup2

Happy Planning Everyone!

I made a countdown chain. Last year, we got the date in August as our official Ready-Set-Plan date. So we counted 121 days until the trip, and made this big huge long paper chain to count down the days!!! I miss it...

I love your idea!!! Not only our own kids happy they can make another child happy. Your a great mom to think of this. I am going to keep this idea in mind for when we go.

Yes a laminated sheet of plans is great!. I had a detailed list but did not laminate and when you carry it with you everyday, and go on water rides etc it gets really yucky, have copies because I could not find mine one day and I was freaking out because all of our ADR times and numbers were on this.

What a great idea!!! MUCH more fun than marking off the calendar. It will make is kind of seem like an Advent calendar for the kids. I'm making one tonight.... :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

This is great!!! Keep the ideas coming.... :cheer2:

For our last trip, DD & I made a countdown chain 1 month prior.

She knows were going in a couple of years and asked if we can make another chain. DH said that it was too early as he didn't want a chain of around 750 links going around the house.

Sounds like a plan to me. I can tape it to the ceiling and go around the house. It will haunt him in every room!!!
