Calling all NYer's.....I have a touring question :)

We are headed to NYC at the end of August and I want to spend one day (it will be a Thursday) doing things I know DD will love. We plan to hit the FAO Schwarz store for some time, I personallly want to make th trek over to Dylan's Candy Bar, but we do want to do Central Park and perhaps the zoo there too. It appears from a map that FAO is right at the south entrance to Central Park and naturally, the zoo is on the other side.

Can anyone familiar with this area give me some scoop, tips, tell me I'm crazy, tell me it will work?

The Central Park Zoo is really not that far from FAO Schwarz. The zoo's not huge, but it's worth the visit.

Those are all very close to each other. However, I'd do it either FAO to the zoo to Dylan's, or the other way around, since you need to pass close by the zoo to get from one to the other.
