Calling all NYC'ers

At this time of year and spending only 4 to 5 hours in the city, my feeling is you'd be better off skipping Ground Zero.

My DH and I talked and decided we will have more like 8 hours there. Boston is alot closer then we thought.

Plus he knew someone on the second plane and wants to pay his respects.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't remember right now, but someone else here will know, there is a place, I think it's one of the churches near Ground Zero that has a memorial set up. You might want to stop by there too. I know that when we have out of town guests that go see ground zero they are usually surprised that it is really just a construction site at this point. I know that sounds horrible, but it's true .

With 8 hours it will give you plenty of time to do all you want and not feel exhasted . It will give you time to let your little one have some much needed breaks.

I know that Church. It is right about two/three blocks from Ground Zero right on Chruch street. Can't remember the name of it, but it has the iron cross on display that they found in the rubble after 9/11.

Yes the E train will take you to 42nd street, look for the exits that say 7th Avenue.

If you have 8 hours that is more then enough time. I hope you enjoy your trip.

Thank you all so much. We are really getting excited as we will be surprising my family Christmas monring by knocking on thier door. I haven't been home for Christmas in a couple years!!! I am so excited...New York and Boston are just icing on the cake.
