Hey there Nutters!! I see Caroline checked in from her weekend away visiting her ''friend''

Hello to everyone I have not yet met,,I'm Carrie, married 20 years next week! 3 kids, 16 next month, 11 YO son.. 6 yo daughter. 16 chickens,2 cats, 1 bassett hound,, i work PT in a package store. (liquor store) i love it! its a lot of fun. I'll pop in more! I have a friend who i want to send over also. shes very sweet and alot of fun!

Any sign of Blue? or Natters? Jean the Bean comes home tomorrow!!

EEEKKK! We have a new pet in my house! Last night when I got out Tara's dinner dish, I found little "presents" in it. So both dishes got a good scrubbing, then I tore apart the entire under-stove cabinet and found plenty more of the presents! The kicker is that my mother had seen them in other dishes and thought they were bugs! Ick, ick, ICK!

So after the dishes and cabinet were washed and vacuumed and put back together, before I went to bed, I looked in it again. Found a few more little gifts, so I went and told Mum. She came down and we stood there, trying to hear something. Sure enough, there was some skittering going on, then I saw a little face poke out from between two of the stacks! Yes, I screamed like a schoolgirl and slammed the cabinet door. This morning, though, there doesn't appear to be any more leavings and I didn't hear her running the vacuum again, so maybe he left. I got rid of the chips that were in that cabinet, so there's nothing for him to eat now.

I'm a bit upset, though, that she's going to get traps tonight. I told her to get humane traps and she said she just wants it out of the house. So she's mad at me for not wanting to aid and abet mouse-icide.

Howdy, CARRIEANNIE!!! No sign of Blue or Natters BUT I can report that our Italian Jumping Bean has returned home to us!!!!!!!

We have one of those too Liz! I just got done washing all the utensils and the tray. We have named him mickey. but hes getting to be too much now, or there is more than one. i didnt want to do anything, but I might have to.
I have 2 cats too!!

Carrie - has it been a bit chilly where you are? I was thinking that maybe the cold here in CT made it seek shelter. My mother's coworker said the same thing. That plus the food we had stored under there...Maybe now that the food is gone and it's a little warmer outside...

Mum's still going to go buy a trap after work. I told her to just not tell me about the outcome.

So here's my story for the day. I dropped a basket behind a shelf this morning. I didn't feel like crawling around on the floor to retrieve it so I asked one of my kids to get it. She crawled back there and I heard the most 8 year old girl-ish SHRIEK I've ever heard. Fitting, seeing as how she's an 8 year old girl. Anyway, I was of course freaking out and I'm like "WHAT??? WHAT IS IT???!!!" She just kept looking at me with these big eyes shaking her head. She wouldn't tell me. So now I'm afraid to look back there because I have no idea what she's seeing!! I look and there was......

A half eaten dead crayfish surrounded by mouse droppings!!!!! My stomach just flipped when I saw it. GAG!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don't know if everyone knows the story of the crayfish, but they were part of a science unit. Mind you, this science unit concluded and the crayfish were out of my room in DECEMBER!!!!!! The next words out of my mouth...who wants to help Miss Lauren by doing a cleaning project? That's right, I made kids dispose of the thing. What can I say, I'm evil. So now I want to know how that dang thing got back there and where the mouse is!!! When the crayfish unit rolls around again next year I'm going to be so paranoid about escaped crayfish crawling around. Never a dull moment, I tell ya.

Howdy to everyone else! Things are still crazy around here. We have a big birthday bash for all three of our boys and their friends on Saturday. Sunday we visit with the in-laws, and then we have three days to get ready for the packers.

No sign of our new pet today. My mum got some of those traps that are like little houses and you don't see them when they're caught, but he hasn't (literally) taken the bait. I'm hoping that it was just the food in the cabinet, plus the freezing temps at night. Now it's warmer and the food is gone, so there's no incentive for him to come back. Keeping my fingers crossed.
