Calling all Nuts!!!

Apparently first class customers can do anything they want Jean - haven't you ever seen the wedding singer? I got on immediately started ordering doubles of the old rum and diet beverage and started making "friends" with my neighbors. By the time I got off the plane I was absolutely HILARIOUS!!!! Tim just shook his head and laughed at me - I did this last time too.

My weekend was amazing and despite our past problems we have decided to actually try to give a relationship a go. Leave it to me to immediately fall in love with a guy who lives in Florida. Now I'm going to have to fly down and visit him all the time. Boo Hoo! ;)

"You can't talk to Billy Idol like that!"

Ever have a sing-along on the plane? I'm suddenly reminded of how we had a sing-along on the school bus every day when I was in 3rd grade. First we sang "The Eye of the Tiger," then "Davy Crockett" (our bus driver's name was Dave).

Alright, people, let's kick it up a notch here. The last Nuts thread died because of this kind of behavior. Ready, set, post! I expect at least a page by the time I get home from work tomorrow.

Kar...I'm so jealous that you can go to Disneyland for the day! How fun! It wasn't very hot when we were there. I would have been complaining if it was 100! :rolleyes1

My memorable moment from the day....
So since I work in the ghetto with thugs as I was driving home from school a group of hoodlums threw rocks at my car. This came as no surprise to me. It really is the ghetto. I pulled over a little ways down and called the police. A woman came over to my car and told me she had called the police 20 minutes earlier and they still weren't there. So then I drove away. Not 5 minutes later my friend/other teacher at the school calls me saying "you won't believe what just happened to me!" I said "I bet I can guess, but tell me anyway." Yes, the thugs threw rocks at her car too but instead of calling the police she got out and tried to go all teacher on them and talk to them. lol. The kids chased her with rocks and several of them hit her. One in the head. Now if people are throwing rocks at you in the ghetto, you don't get out of your car. Come on now! I think she learned her lesson.

:scared1: Yikes, PJ, please STAY in your car or better still can't you take an alternate route. Is there allot of damage to your car? I hope your friend/teacher is ok, did she require stitches? Wow, that really is so scary. :scared:

Yes, we are having a bit of a HEAT WAVE!!! :headache: One more day really hot and then the temps will drop to the 70's again! :goodvibes

CHATTING I AM HERE CHATTING, as is LIZ!!! ::yes::

:hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2: :hyper2:

Okay, on Peej's orders, I'll talk about stuff...

My boyfriend was very tired on the phone tonight. I worry that it's my fault...

My mother took a vacation day from work. We found a place here in town that refinishes antiques; we have a little curio hutch that belonged to my great-grandmother that needs some work. We took that over and the guy was very impressed. He really wanted to buy it from us, but we said no, we want it fixed up!

Then we went and checked out these new construction townhomes down in Windsor. We both wish we could move tomorrow. Each bedroom has its own full bath and a walk-in closet that is literally another room. I could fit my entire bedroom and my computer in there, instead of the 2 rooms as I have now. Only problem...I'm going to be even farther away from Jason. I could tell he's not entirely happy about that. He tried to joke about me moving away from him, but I could tell he wasn't joking 100%.

Spent the afternoon pulling out more stuff for a tag sale. Mum's on a tear and wants to have it over Memorial Day weekend. Probably a good idea...

I also found out I don't have Mum's "Factor V Leiden" blood clotting gene. That's good. I didn't get her cute little nose or her gorgeous legs, but she also didn't give me her icky gene :teeth:

Okay, that's all I've got. Who's next?

Good Morning, Liz!! :wave2:

:woohoo: Squid, I am so glad your weekend was awesome!!! You deserve an awesome weekend!! :woohoo: I remember the pic you posted after your last flight to Disney...I think the one with you and Kate when the Chatters were there...that was HILARIOUS as well!!! :drinking1

Squiddy: Obviously I am completely out of the loop. Who is Tim?popcorn::

Liz: Your post made me laugh. I was teasing my mom the other day about not getting her genes. ALL of her many sisters are VERY buxom. My mom? Not so much. I tease her about passing those genes along.

Kar: HowdyDoody to you too.

Everybody else: What's new? I'm trying to remember my nut name. I think it was pecan. Remember I went to London and ordered "Puh Khan" pie and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy? Finally she figures it out and says "Ohhhh. You meant "Pee Can" pie.

Tim...hmmmm :scratchin...Tim...ummmm ...Tim...well :rolleyes1 - he's sort of someone very special to me right now. He lives in St. Pete is 6' tall with blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes. He's the reason I've been making last minute trips to Florida for the past 3 months. :lovestruc

Do you have a picture? If there's one thing I've learned, you deserve to be happy!

I've sort of changed a little since the divorce - lost some weight (I'm not talking about the dead weight I divorced), started smiling. Here's me now:

Isn't the change amazing? I started smiling a lot when my divorce was final...and I was shocked when I went to the doctor last year and they told me that I'd lost 15 pounds! I didn't even try!

Go Squiddy! Purty lady...

Thanks Liz! I've lost 50 in the span of 2 months.

Better performance with the posting today, freaks.

Thanks for humoring me. Excellent form. Carry on in this manner.

Squiddy...cute pic. :goodvibes Now do we get to see a picture of this Tim? :cool2:

Oh, the third grade. Always a good time.

Oh, no. It's not a big deal. Really. There's no damage to the car. My friend is fine. It's all good. Thanks for your concern! Today the security guard at the school did catch them throwing rocks at our buses as they were pulling in. He patrolled our parking lot during the day as well.

Then again, do we really want to emulate those who are ample? ;) And don't cross the line with that one.

So here's my story for the day. I dropped a basket behind a shelf this morning. I didn't feel like crawling around on the floor to retrieve it so I asked one of my kids to get it. She crawled back there and I heard the most 8 year old girl-ish SHRIEK I've ever heard. Fitting, seeing as how she's an 8 year old girl. Anyway, I was of course freaking out and I'm like "WHAT??? WHAT IS IT???!!!" She just kept looking at me with these big eyes shaking her head. She wouldn't tell me. So now I'm afraid to look back there because I have no idea what she's seeing!! I look and there was......

A half eaten dead crayfish surrounded by mouse droppings!!!!! :scared::scared::scared::scared: My stomach just flipped when I saw it. GAG!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I don't know if everyone knows the story of the crayfish, but they were part of a science unit. Mind you, this science unit concluded and the crayfish were out of my room in DECEMBER!!!!!! The next words out of my mouth...who wants to help Miss Lauren by doing a cleaning project? That's right, I made kids dispose of the thing. What can I say, I'm evil. So now I want to know how that dang thing got back there and where the mouse is!!! When the crayfish unit rolls around again next year I'm going to be so paranoid about escaped crayfish crawling around. Never a dull moment, I tell ya.

Peej, have you ever watched "How Clean is Your House?" on the BBC? Shall I emulate Aggie, affect a Scottish accent, and tell you all the dread diseases you can catch from breathing around dead things and "mouse poo?" Those poor kids...

Yeah, I'd make them clean it up, too :teeth:

Nothing to tell tonight. Having a bit of a freak-out here.

I don't really watch tv. Mouse traps have been set by the janitor. Hopefully the mouse problem will be a thing of the past shortly. The thing about the crayfish is that I swear it never smelled in there! It really was just a shell of the crayfish. Its insides had been eaten out. Maybe that's why it didn't smell. Did anyone really want to know that? You're welcome.

Why are you freaking out? What's wrong?

I'm a little upset right now. I went for retraining orientation at the CT Works office today. I have to fill out a job log in order to qualify for WIA. I have to give them 8 companies to which I've applied for employment. AND they check, they say. I haven't applied for 8 jobs because there simply aren't any in my field! The office gave me the same list of websites that I'd already come up with; I check them every other day and zilch! Even the guy at the CT Works office said flat out, "You're not going to find anything."

So now what? Just find 8 jobs and apply so I can put them on my list? And then...is there any guarantee that when the state calls them, they'll be able to say for sure that I applied? There are so many people out of work in CT, I can just imagine that companies are inundated with job seekers and cannot say for sure that So-And-So did apply. I know that many companies just "circular file" resumes/applications without even looking at them.

I'm too honest; I don't have it in me to just look stuff up and say that I applied if I didn't. With my luck, it will come back and bite me in the butt. But my mother says to just put a bunch of stuff down, that they don't have time to check everyone.

Squiddy: Wow. 50 lbs? You look amazing!

Liz: Good luck with the job hunt!

I'm just applying for things that sound interesting. I even registered with the Field Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago! It's just discouraging; you've got one person that works for the state telling you not to bother, because the jobs aren't out there, but then you've got another that says you have to find something anyway (but the companies don't consider you because of your lack of required skills)... :confused3 For example, I found an ad for mortgage data entry. Sure, I could do that...but then, there was a disclaimer: "You MUST have a minimum of 6 years of mortgage experience; we will NOT consider any candidates without this knowledge."

Oh, well...I'm watching something on the Science Channel right now that included a segment on psychic chickens. Yep...this is my life... :teeth:

I'm making dinner for my boyfriend tonight. It's the one thing I actually can cook, my Italian chicken and rice. I'm making it at home, then taking it up to him, so if I burn the bottom layer of rice (like I always do), he won't know!

Happy Thursday Nutters! What's happening everyone?

I noticed some familiar faces so I thought I would drop by and say Hi:yay:

I hope everyone is doing well.

You're tricky! :rotfl: Good luck with the cooking! And the job hunting. What a headache...

Nothing much to report in my world. Man, I'm boring!

:wave2: Great to see you again!

Yesterday I had my kids make earth day posters. Some of them were pretty cute. I was hanging them on our bulletin board this morning and one little girl's poster said:

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!!
Today, remember to recycle, reuse, and reproduce!!!!

:lmao: Man I love 'em. I hung her poster in our room. I told her it was "special." I didn't want any of the older kids making fun of it out in the hallway. :rotfl:

Now where the heck is the starter of this thread?

Hey Fellow Nutters.........

Sorry it took so long to get over here and get some pictures posted, you spend 6 days away from the computer and it takes your 14 to catch up, must be that new math, maybe PJ can explain it to us.
