I figured this was a good time to make a comparison! haha

DH & I are going to WDW with another couple Oct 1-8 and the other wife has asked me what the weather will be like. DH & I have been in November but never in early October (although I went in mid-sept as a child).

At the moment, it is H-H-H here in central Mass... is this the kind of weather we should expect at WDW that week? Or will be (hopefully) be cooler and less humid? Also, what are the nights like temp-wise that week?

TIA!!! :love2:

:sunny: Yes it is H-H-H up here. We go in Sept. alot the weather is hot but not as humid. Days I think are in the 80's and nights in the low 70's very nice. We have even gone in the pools. We will be going in Sept. again this year. It will seem cooler but warmer then up here at that time of year.

I'm not from New England but I have lived in Florida for 16 years :sunny: . In Oct., it is still warm but not as humid as it is in the summer. At night, it gets cooler.

Hope that helps!

:flower:

Sure is h h h here! Good news. We're from South Shore MA & love Oct/Nov in FL. We've gone 2x in the second week of Oct. both times were low to mid 80's & very very low humidy. I don't know if we just lucked out or if that is the norm. I would compare it to early to mid Sept up here.

Have a great time. When we go in Oct. it is usually Columbus day week.

I grew up in MA, lived in FL, now live in GA. The humidity is probably going to be a lot higher than you're used to.

The evenings can be really wonderful then, though, especially if there's a breeze.

Sooo, just a lot moister than what I remember MA being...

We were there 1 year Oct 8-12 (went on the cruise the 12). We had a couple days where it was chilly and in the morning we all had to go and buy sweatshirts. Of course they were saying those were record low temps for October, but it goes to show you it can be cold. And it did warm up some a few days in. ;)

Hello from the Berkshires! :wave2:
Just keep an eye on the weather channel online for the 10 day forcast before you go. Then you'll have a general idea what to pack.

We're going the last week of Oct and I'm looking forward to the warmth again before it begins snowing up here! :rotfl: Friends of ours will be going the same week as you. Hope you have a great time!

The humidity isn't bothering me too bad though I am sure I'll be crying when I see my electric bill from the use of the air conditioners!

Oct is a nice time to go to WDW. The weather is usually warm during the day(not tike what we are getting today in New England), and cooler in the evening....perfect! :goodvibes

We went 10/7 - 10/12 last year and it was about 80 during the day. Nice warm evenings. We wore shorts/t-shirts every day and night except one night we added sweatshirts. The night of MNSSHP it was downright sticky.

We will be there 10/2-10/8. Looking forward to it! We are in technically in Western Mass, but the next town over is Central Mass. My parents live in Florida on the Gulf Coast "just north of Tampa". We chose October for a few reasons: 1. Been in November during Thanksgiving week in 2000 and it his about 30 degrees! Burr. 2.Our best friends moved to NC and are having a party October 8th which we were planning on driving too for the weekend. 3. FREE DINING!, so we will drive down and stop at friends house on the way home. The Florida heat never bothered me and I have been just about every time of the year except October and March! So looking forward it. DH will not do disney in the summer, so I thought this would be perfect.

I'm from s.e. Mass and live 15miles away in RI now. I lived in FL for a while and I can tell you early Oct is similar to late June here with hot days but not as humid as we've been having lately, and it cools down a bit at night.

Excellent!! Thanks so much guys!! It is downright HELLISH outside today and I was afraid of a week of this! :sunny:

I didn't think until after I'd already booked it, that when I was a kid we went in Sept (about 3 weeks earlier than I'm going this year) and I was so sick from the heat/humidity that I actually don't remember parts of the trip!!

I feel much better now!!! In 66 days I'll be mid-air on my way "home"!!! :earboy2:

Hi, Holden. We used to live in Paxton, and October was hot, but certainly not like I hear you're experiencing now. But it is hotter and more humid than I remember Holden summers (we spent alot of summer time in Holden). Keep cool, and if Friendly's still sells those Watermelon sherbert coolers, have one for me. It won't be this hot in October in WDW.

I pretty much agree with everyone. We went in Oct and it was great! 80's daytime, night would cool down a little but we never needed a jacket or sweatshirt. Also, it never rained at all. Would love to go again in Oct but DH won't take the kids out of school.

BTW, we're from Seekonk, MA. Lost power today, probably due to too many people using air conditioners. Had to go to the grocery store to stay cool.

Go New England - Home of the World Champion Patriots and Red Sox!

Hello fellow central MA DISer. From Millbury, MA here. The weather in October has been great to my family. Low to mid 80's, great temps at night. The three times we went in October we have onlt encountered rain during the overnight a few times. We will be there the week before you, Sept. 24-Oct.1. Hope you have a safe and happy trip.

Greetings from the southcoast of MA!

The closest to the dates that you mentioned for us was - the last week of September and the 3rd week of October. I recall getting off of the plane both times and stepping into HOT temperatures and humidity. Not at all like Sept-Oct in N.E. The week that we went in Sept. was HHH and hit the 90's every day that we were there. The week in Oct was a little milder, but still in the high 80's and hot. I loved it since to me going to FL is supposed to be hot - not cool like it is here (except for at times in the summer).

This year we are trying a trip in Dec. and I am just hoping for mild weather and not too much rain. Either way, it is sure to be milder than winter in MA (yuck).

Let me see....... Oct. weather in MA. Crisp; chilly some days, warm and sunny other days. Florida........80's, "less humid" which translates to still wicked humid.

It's definitely better than the recent hot spell, but not by much. Especially when you try to transition from our gorgeous fall weather back to mid-summer style heat and humidity. It takes 2-3 days to reacclimate, but it's bearable.

Greetings from Southern CT (that state that's on your way to NY?)

I'm going in September and I'm hoping it's not going to be too hot. I suspect October will be much more milder.
