Calling all January 2011 POP'pers!!!

We will be at Pop from Jan 29-Feb 5. Celebrating my college graduation, mine and dh's anniversary, and our first trip to disney. Soo excited. 45 days to go!

Okay.
So I know half the fun of going to disney is tinkering w/ your dining ressies, making slight adjustments to plans here and there. I assumme most people stop that at 45 days out and just anticipate.
I am 39 days out and I've been thinking and looking at a few things.
Right now our agenda to drive to St. Louis on 1/23 spend the night and catch the 6:30am flight and arrive MCO at 10am. It's all booked and paid for. .... so I was just thinking, in the grand scheme of things how much more would it cost to stay at Disney instead of STL that night? only about $30 taking meals and all into account!!
So ... if sometime in the next 35 days SW puts their flights back on sale and I can get the flight on the 23rd for close to the same price as I now have on the 24th ... and if they have room at the Pop on 1/23 (which I'm assumming should not be too far fetched in late Jan. ), then we will catch the 1:30pm flight on the 23rd, arrive MCO about 5pm grab some dinner at the Pop. Our luggage should be delived between 8 and 9. We can unpack that night, get a good night sleep and hit the parks bright and early the 24th. AND we won't have to get up at 4am to catch the early morning flight.
So maybe this all does hang on a lot of "ifs"
Doesn't this sound like a good idea?
am I completely nuts or does anyone else tinker this late?

Hello everyone!!! I just found this thread and am so glad to see there will be lots of other Disers there during our trip!
We went in June of this year w/ my sister. It was my first trip in 36 yrs and my DD first trip ever. We LOVED it! But it was WAAAY too hot and crowded for us. I started saving for a Jan. 2012 trip. On a whim decided life is too short and booked a trip this Jan.! Still can't believe I did it.
We are SO excited. This will be our first time at the POP and our first time not with a large group.

I'm a little late joining in, but nonetheless I am here! DH and I are going to our favorite place Jan 4-13, staying at POP of course, with free dining that we upgraded to the regular DDP. We went in May 07 for our honeymoon and stayed at POP - we're addicted - will never stay anywhere else. I am an uberplanner so here's what we're looking at so far:
1/4 arrive MCO at 11:30ish, lunch @ POP, dinner @Tony's 7:45
1/5 EP L@ Sunshine Seasons, dinner @ Coral Reef 7:40

We are now down to 18 days. This started out as a surprise trip for DH's bday...back in Sept. Then I spilled the beans, and we mutually decided Jan was a much better time to go. So excited...ok, breathe Jessica, breathe.

Going Jan 10-14th with my BF. It's our first big trip together and a little personal celebration for surviving my first semester of college.
We're at nineteen days and I cannot wait.

Ony 37 more days! We're surprising the kids on Christmas morning with news of the trip! I'm as excited about surprising them as I am about going! Well, maybe ALMOST as excited... nothing beats the excitement of an upcoming trip except being there!

There is a master list on the very first page. Alaskanmommy has very kindly put it all together.
there are quite a few of us that will be there the last part of Jan. I will be there the first week you are there. I'll have a lime green Mickey head in the window w/ my Dis name on it.

I just stumbled upon this thread. We leave in 16 days and my DS does not even know yet! He will find out tomorrow night when he gets to open one gift before he goes to bed! I cannot believe that I have been able to keep the secret this long. I am so excited I am about to bust! We are there from Jan 8th until the 16th! Here we come!!
