Hey neighbors! We're headed to HHI this spring. We've been before but didnt do much more than swim and lay around.

Can you guys give me some great reccommendations (or warn me away from) for other activities. Which golf courses are open to the public and nice? Where are the great places to eat? Also, what can you reccommend for Grandma's birthday?

Thanks gang!

Golf courses in the spring, I may be able to help with. DH loves the Robert Trent Jones course right across the street a little ways. He also enjoyed Harbourtown Golf Links, but since that's really expensive, I made it clear that's a "once in a lifetime" place. Although DH wasn't fond of Indigo Run, I know another DISer who's husband loves it. Since the weather was cold and miserable when DH went, that may have colored his opinion.

Renting bikes is definitely a must. We love taking the Pinckney Island excursion and always do a dolphin tour. As far as restaurants go, our favorite restaurant on the island is Stripes. Debbie (the owner) is a doll, and the food is amazing! We are hosting my father in law's 80th birthday there next week. Thirty of us will be staying at the resort for Christmas break! We also love Redfish and of course The Old Oyster Factory. Have a great time.

Redfish? Is that the place that is just to the right of the bridge as you leave the resort?

no. That place is awful! Had one of my worst meals there. I can't remember offhand the directions to Redfish, but someone at the desk will definitely be able to give you good directions. Have fun!

Hi Manning--

Oh my God, no! That would be pretty scary! We actually have 5 Two bedroom villas reserved. I love my family, but that's way too much togetherness :grouphug: . As a matter of fact, my husband 2 sons and I took a 2 bedroom just for the 4 of us, just so we can have a little down time. We leave tomorrow and can't wait! :cheer2:

That's too bad. Kind of was looking for a new world record and a bunch of that's not allowed posts. Guess Guinness book of world records has to wait awhile. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Have fun and post some pictures.
