Calling all FP experts - I have a complicated question...

This is kind of a complicated question so I will do my best to explain what I am trying to figure out...

Once you've used your 3 FPs you must book your 4th at a kiosk. Also, once youve booked that 4th FP on the kiosk, you can subsequently change it using MDE. So for example, say I've booked Peter Pan as my 4th FP on the kiosk, I can then change it to Spalsh using MDE.

My question is, when changing that 4th FP using MDE, do I have to keep it within the same park or can I change parks? So for exams I am at MK in the morning. I use my 3 FPs and book a 4th using the kiosk. Can I then use MDE to switch my 4th FP to something at Epcot or HS?

Thank you!!

Aw, bummer! Still hoping they'll change this before December...

But I CAN book 4th FP at a different park using a kiosk once I arrive at the 2nd park, correct?

Yes.

And if you head back to your resort after leaving the first park, you can try asking the concierge if they can book it for you.

I swung by the MK after we finished with DHS and made a FP reservation for the family. (The park to park buses are so convenient.) Everyone does not have to be through the turnstile to have a FP booked in the new park.

I had a Dole Whip float, watched the Enchanted Tiki Room and headed back to the resort for an afternoon break.

One person can make Fastpass reservations at a kiosk for the entire party? I assume you don't need their magicbands? And are you serious that the park to park buses are convenient or was that sarcastic? Thanks!

They need to be linked to your MDE account. It was just our family so there was no issue with other groups traveling with us.

Specifically, I booked a FP for my two kids and myself for Space Mountain. My wife does not ride SM so I unchecked her name at the kiosk. She headed over to the MK later and wanted the option to be able to book her own FP. Our kids did not enter the park until our SM FP window was set to open.

This was our last day at WDW this year. They wanted to ride the three mountains that night. It seemed better to me to take the short ride rather than stand in line for SM. We were able to get additional FPs for BTMRR and Splash that night too along with a few others.

Just an FYI--there was no need to "uncheck" your wife from Space Mountain. You could have gone ahead, booked everyone, and then she could have gone in and changed her FP on her phone--even at the resort while resting. Once they're made in the park, they can be moved around and changed on the app.

She has an IPhone but did not have MDE loaded. I have a Blackberry which is only worthwhile since my company pays for it. It was necessary in this case, but not for everyone.

It is definitely true that one person can make FP reservations at a kiosk for te entire party, I have done that before.

I have done this often too. The rest of our group was eating lunch and I slipped out, made a FP+ reservation for all of us then rejoined the group. Was super easy....especially when it was a TT reservation good for 15 minutes later. Someone must have cancelled theirs. Bonus!!

I have no idea if the poster, Hootch was serious or not (I assume the comment was serious,)
but the park to park buses are in place and running for the convenience of guests who want to "park-hop."

We have used them multiple times per trip for years.

We don't park hop at WDW. It takes way too much time. We plan and commit to one park/day. We enjoy the heck out of that park all day and night :flower:

I think the park to park rather than going to the T&TC is a major plus for Disney transportation. We hop almost every day we are at WDW. That bus probably saved me 20 minutes at least.

We have been planning to do some park hopping but people in my life who go often have discouraged it because they say it takes FOREVER to get from one place to another. I'm happy to hear that not everyone sees it that way! Oh, and these same people are ones who like to take breaks in the afternoon and go back to their resort for a nap or swim. As if that doesn't take time, too?? lol

We're in the no park hopping camp. Never have, never felt a need for it. But it's strictly a personal choice--definitely no one right answer to this.

But I would suggest at least not buying the hopper ahead of time unless you're 100% sure you'll be using it. You can add it on when you get there and it costs no more than doing it ahead of time. I made the mistake of buying it on our first trip, never used it, wasted over $200! Also keep in mind it costs the same whether you hop once or every day. If you're doing it just for one or two days, is it worth it? Again, a personal choice, but unless I was going to use it most days, I wouldn't bother.

With FD we had no choice but to get it this time. Otherwise we had been planning to do as you suggest and wait. Our hopping plans are the flexible portion of our trip. We'll hop if we feel like it, or stay put if we don't. :)

Seems like they avoid anything on the app booking an additional park FP, probably because people might not be able to hop in time. Gotta have your feet on the ground...

But why would they care if you make it to the FP or not? It's not like an ADR where they lose money if you don't show up. If you miss an FP reservation, they just let the standby people in quicker.

I'm still trying to figure out why you can't just add it on the app--whether in the same park or a different one! What does making us go to a kiosk to schedule it really accomplish?
