Calling all Fireman wives!!!

We got a 2 story...agh!! Seems like I am up and down stairs all the time..what is nice is the laundry room is on the second floor...so nice! It is a gated neighborhood and it is nice to not have to worry about door to door sales.
DH is full time.. 24 on 48 off..he is a Batt. Chief for the shift. He has been there for 16 years and retires in 9. But I don't think he is going to retire when his time is up..I think he will continue in the drop plan and bank all the $. Then again...the head fire chief is leaving in 2 years and DH is one of the very few with a degree and all the required years of service for the position. He doesn't want the job..too much stress, but I can't imagine that he would turn it down.

Good Saturday everyone!!!

It sure is nice DisneyDmbNut that your laundry is on the second level. My laundry is on the third level - so you can imagine how often I am up and down stairs - but I don't mind, I can use the excerise!! .

So, how is everyone?? We are doing great here. It's pretty darn cold though - a high temp of about 9 to be exact. Stephanie has a b-day party to go to today, and she is so excited .

Hi Girls

We want to move soon also but we have to wait till my son is in his Senior year next year because of Wrestling .

The houses we are looking at are also gated , how do you like it ? We kinda want to move to our Country Club DH wants to live on the golf course LOL. I wont do that cause you cant a fence if you do and I am not going to be without a fence.

Vacations went well I loved them all . Vegas I did really well !!
Disneyland was great because my Nephew had never been before so it was so nice to see it all over again for the 1st time . Disney World was a blast because DH had never been before with me .

He has been accepted to the Police accademy so now he will be working his Fire job 24 on and then have one day off and the 3rd day be there. He said he needs to do it to do arsen work or be a fire marshall when he is to old to jump off the firetruck LOL.

I am so glad you girls are coming around again . See you guys in the morning !

Your husbands extra education sounds really interesting. My husband does investigative work on structure fires in our town, but he never had any formal education for it. You'll have to keep us posted on how he is doing with that.

So, tell me about Disneyland. Do you like it as much as WDW? I have never been to Disneyland, and I would love to take the kids someday (and myself of course ). My mom has been a very long time ago and she said that it is smaller, but The Small World ride is nicer than the WDW ride. Anyway, you'll have to tell me sometime on what your opinion is.

I asked you back in Sept. but I don't remember what you said. Did you get caught in the hurricane at WDW in 2004? We left 2 days early and just missed it. I remember you were suppossed to be going when we were leaving. I remember thinking of you when we were leaving and hoping you weren't going to be caught in that weather mess.

Our house backs to a preserve ( nothing can be built there...they just did some drainage improvements and now I am looking out the window at a lake...not bad.owned the house 30 days and already the property value has gone up 10K

Sorry Slo I forgot to say NO Hurricanes for us ! We loved it but it was sad to see the trees down ans stuff.

Wish us luck we have State Duel Team Championships for Wrestling in the morning . We want it pretty bad but you know how that goes ......
My son has only lost 2 matches this year but some of his team has been a little slow this time around . It only takes a second to get pinned .

Think of us too - we are drowning in snow here. It's not that dreadfully deep - it just won't stop coming down. I really hate winter!! I should put a countdown clock up for when winter is over

Ok girls my son didnt loose a match today but some of his team didnt do so well . So we took 4th in Texas State Duels . Now to most that would be a good thing . To my son 4th is not worth anything ! The boys didnt stay to pick up thier 4th place medals ..... Very sad day in the house

I'm so sorry to hear that. It's really hard on anybody when you work so hard to be the best and then you don't achieve your goal. Wish him well from me will you. Does he have another opportunity next year? Or is this his last year? Well, I hope he feels better soon.

So we received alot of snow here yesterday. Approx 16-17 inches outside our front door and it is really pretty outside. Stephanie played outside for a short while, but it was just so cold out today. I was going to take Kate out, but it was -2 windchill factor, and I just didn't want her to get to cold. It snowed though starting Friday night and I woke up to it still snowing out this morning. I'm glad it is over with so the roads will not be to bad tomorrow.

Snow...I hate snow !!!

Do you like it ? I know it is pretty but I hate the way it is wet and cold LOL

He has next year but he wanted it pretty bad this year...

I'm very indifferent about snow. I absolutly hate winter - no doubt about it . When it comes to actual snow - its quite pretty when it is falling and it's even prettier right after it's over. But the day after when it is all dirty and nasty - it's just depressing. I could live my life quite easily never seeing snow again .

Hey Mad4Mickey - I'm sorry to hear that you are sick. What's been wrong, or do you not care to say? The reason why I ask is because I felt a cold starting on Sunday and I started taking Ziacam (the one you squirt into your mouth), and it really did shorten the length of my cold and made my cold symptoms alot less. I am really swearing by this stuff. It tastes really bad, but it's worth it.

I think my DH has had me watch backdraft a dozen or more times. He was a volunteer for many years before getting into a paid department. He absolutely loves his job. Most firemen do. My boss tells me that my DH is crazy. Most people run away from fires, while firemen run into them. They are a rare breed and the brotherhood they share is like none out there. I too am very proud to be a fireman's wife. and I love to see him in his uniform!
