no work today! :cool1: Its cesar chavez day here.

my family also makes seperate potato salads. I think for my uncle who doesnt eat pork, we make it without bacon. But it may have been something else. I just made chicken salad the other day and i saw a recipe that said to use eggs in it as well. I may try that later. I absolutely love eggs. Anyway you make it ill eat it. except raw! ;)

sandy- wow i cant believe you havent put all your music into itunes! how long have you been using it? what did you use itunes for before that? and how did you put your music on your ipod?

All considering you have a lot of music! I only have about 1300 and I thought that was alot, but maybe not. Have you downloaded any podcasts? That takes up most of the audio room on my iphone. Some professors even podcast their lectures, so you can download and listen to them again. because you all know i relisten to lectures in my spare time. you can also use your ipod as a external hard drive or flash drive and transport files with it. or if you wanted to give someone music, just put it on the flash drive instead of a cd. that way you dont waste a disc. ;)

anyway if you ever have any questions about computers you can always ask me! Ill be here to teach you! :teacher: Im teaching my grandma how to use the DIS. We get on the computer at the same time and get on the phone together and i talk her through how to get to different threads. Its kind of fun actually. :rotfl:

And it rained and rained and rained!! Still raining here!

I don't have an ipod at all so, sandy & sam, ya'll are way ahead of me!

We are getting 1 - 6 inches of snow tonight :cold:
I don't know what I would rather have - tons of rain or snow :scratchin

I never thought I would like an ipod, until Kevin got one for me. In fact, after he got it for me, it sat in the package for almost a year:eek:Then I decided to put some music on it, and found out I love it!!!! Now I'm obsessed with getting more and more music on it. In fact, we are going to the library today, and I'm going to look for more CD's :teeth:

just got done cleaning up after dinner, Sophie is sitting on my lap, and I thought I would check in and say "HI" :wave2:

What a yucky day today :cold:
The only benefit of today is that it kept us home and I got some work done around the house. Now that my work is done, I'm going to go watch tv :happytv:

Well, I gotta run and get Sophie outside, so we can veg in front of the tv:happytv:

Have a good night everyone!!

Hi everyone-
Sorry I havent stopped by since I got home from Florida...Ive been sick since I got home and have been in bed all weekend long--Hopefully the worst is over and ill be okay for work tomorrow.. I cannot believe March is almost over!

Yesterday, Kevin accidentally put a steak knife in the dishwasher pointed up, and it stabbed the palm of my hand - Ouch!!!! It hurt yesterday, but it hurts alot worse today, and it's in a place that is always going to split open, and it's in a bad place for a band-aide. I'm not to happy about it:sad2:

BE - I'm sorry to hear that you are sick :guilty: I'll send lots and lots of PD your way to feel better soon:wizard: When you get better tell us about some of your adventures from vacation - we would love to read about them!!!:)

Spring break is now over, which means Stephanie will not be happy this morning:mad:(her face). She was already starting to complain about going back to school on Saturday:rolleyes: She should be a real joy this morning

Have a good day!!!

Good Monday morning!

As Sandy already knows... spring break is over! :cool1:

now i can finally stop sitting around and start to get back into my routine with school now in the mix. Im kind of excited. I really love school, but after hmmm...15 years straight, you kind of get burnt out. So now after no school for almost a year im ready and actually enthused about it. Hopefully my grades will reflect that. If so i might have to take more breaks to WDW!:rotfl:
Also I've had more coffee than normal this morning so im pretty chipper.:hyper:

Now that i've been home and in a routine i thought it was about time i got back into a healthier eating routine. When I went to florida i ate out ALOT and having gotten back in step. So now im trying to change and make things easier. I also have to get used to making food for just myself and not just eat out because its easier. Last week i made my chicken salad and i had that to eat all week. I took it to work, or had it for dinner and it worked out well. I just finished using the last in my sandwich for today.:thumbsup2 Ive also ben eating yogurt and celery with PB in the morning. Its fast and I can take it to go, plus im hypoglycemic so i need the extra burst of protein. It really helps alot. Im glad im starting to find more things that work for me and are healthier too, not just convenience foods. Marcs told me that when I reach my goal weight Hell take me to Disney. :yay: Land or world im not sure. But its motivation.

BE Im really excited to hear about your trip! Im kind of having wdw withdraws lately!

My hand still hurts today, but it hasn't split back open - I tried to not use it much yesterday. I need it to heal fast because I have a couple cross-stitches to stretch, and I don't want to bleed on them - that would not be good:sad2:

CB - Good luck with restarting school and your new way of eating :wizard: Finding good things to eat, can be challenging, but once you get into a routine of it, you'll never go back to your old ways (at least I never did). I eat the same thing for lunch - 1/2 of turkey sandwich w/ mustard, 20 pretzels (yes I count them), cherry tomatoes, and strawberries or a fat free yogart (depending on what I have) - except on Friday's during Lent, then I have tomato soup:thumbsup2 Karen is on weight watchers, so she's eats healthy too, so whenever you need some motivation, you can count on us to help you with that :teeth:

Well, I must go eat my grapefruit, and get Stephanie up for school:teacher:
Have a good day everyone!!

Hi all! We had pretty weather for a couple of days and now the rain is coming back. I took the day off of work yesterday. I went to the doctor and the dentist. I wil have several more trips to the dentist. I am a dentist phobe and haven't been in a loooooooong time!

sandy - how is your hand? I bet that hurts.

sam - what a great positive attitude! :thumbsup2 I struggle with what I eat. It isn't always easy!

blueeyes - how are you feeling?

morning everyone-
im actually still sick, i have taken a sick day today and i am on hold with the doctors office try to get in for an appointment today.

Florida was great! I dont have many pictures to share b ecause someone else was always in them, and i wnot post unless its just me..but i think i have some scenery shots..ill check in a minute.

Lets see--I got there Thursday night and we drove right from Tampa to Orlando and stayed at my friend's friend's house. We stayed up til abotu 3:30 chatting and decided we needed sleep because we were getting up reallly early! I got up at 730 and we were out of the house by 830...we did Animal Kingdom first then Magic Kingdom. MK is d efnitely my favorite.. By using fastpasses we got absolutely everythign done at both parks. We even watched the 3:00 parade, Spectromagic and Wishes..The only thing we didnt do was Splash mountain because none of us wanted to get wet.

We went back to the house and again stayed up til 330 and went to bed.the next day, just one of the guys and i got up and did MGM with just the 2 of us..we had a blast and again, got everythign done we wanted to do--including toy story, the american idol experience, TOT,RNRC...We called one of the other guys and we all met up at EPCOT. The one thing we did not get to do was Soarin'-Since we were not there first thing, all the FP were gone and the line was over 2 hours. But everything esle got done and we watched fireworks.

When we left we drove the 1.5 hours right to tampa and got to my other friends house. We were up til 430 watchign tv ( i hate staying up late!) The next day we had no plans and figured we would all wake up when someone else did---my friend woke me at 1--i dont think i ve ever slept that late! We spent the day at the house and my friend's family came over for a picnic, which was great.

On monday, we just woke up and stayed around the house til it was time to leave for the airport--it aws asuch a great trip!!

Hi all!

blueeyes - That sounds like a great trip! I am not big on staying up late! If I am not up and moving, I fall asleep! How are you feeling? Did you get an appointment with the doctor?

Not much to report here! The weather was OK today. We have had so much rain lately. We will be busy this weekend. We have a cook out & awards for Emi Friday night for her allstar gym. Saturday Emi has her confirmation retreat all day. James will have a baseball game. Then Saturday night Emi is having a slumber party (her bday is Saturday). Once all the girls leave Sunday we will go to church and CCD. Emi eill have cheer practice Sunday evening & James will have baseball practice. What do ya'll have planned?

Good morning-
I was able to get in with the doctor and am feeling a bit better.
We had a firefighter in our department pass away on Tuesday night. He was injured in a fire on Feb 9 and has been in a coma ever since. His viewing is tomorrow night and his funeral is Saturday. Please keep Manny and his family, and firefighter family in your thoughts or prayers

Hi all - sorry I've been MIA:guilty:

BE - I'm glad you are starting to feel a bit better - here's some more PD for you:wizard:
**Sounds like you had a great trip - thank you for posting that!!:goodvibes
**I'm sorry to hear about that poor firefighter:sad1:I will absolutly keep his family in my thoughts and prayers!!

Karen - Holy cow you have a busy weekend ahead of you!!! :faint: My most important thing to do this weekend is to watch the 3 hours of ER that I DVR'd last night. I'm a little nervous about watching it, because I know I'll cry. I've watched every single episode - what am I going to do with myself on Thursday nights at 9pm now:confused3 It's weird!!!!

Well, I gotta run and get outta work.
My best friend is treating Kevin and I to some pizza tonight. She's been out of town for over a week, and she's coming to visit. I'm so glad, because I've really missed her. She owns an insurance company in my plaza so we normally see each other every day.

Have a good night!!

Sandy-i cried watching ER too. Ive been watching it forever. Ill never forget I was getting surgery when I was like..15 and was w atching ER..the doctor thought i was crazy!

I just got home from the firefighter's viewing. It was one of the saddest things. I did not really know what to expect. We were there for teh firefighter walk through which was absolultely amazing. There were at least 500 firefighters in their class A uniforms, very touching. There were some great speeches and it was a very touching night.

I know tomrorow is going to be emotional and tough but I know that I need to be there you know?

Thanks for the good thoughts

I had so much fun last night with my friend over. The pizza she brought was so yummy, and then we played 500 Rummy, and I won!!!!:woohoo: I don't win much at things, so when I do, it's pretty exciting. Jennifer is already planning a rematch, because she's not good at losing, and she said she needs to study a strategy, and then we need to play again:rotfl: We had some great laughs last night, it was great!!!

BE - I ended up not watching ER last night, so we'll do it tonight. As much as I felt it was time for the show to be over (it had many years that weren't the best) I can't believe it's really over - it's so hard for my to fathom. It'll really hit me Thursday, when I have nothing to watch.
*Walk-thrus are always emotional to watch - they are really quite impressive. I will continue to keep this family in my thoughts and prayers - I feel so bad for them!!!:guilty:

Well, I must get ready to run my errands - lots to do!!
Have a good day!!!

blueeyes - I am very sorry to hear about Manny. FF funerals are always so big and emotional! :grouphug:

sandy - congrats on your rummy win! Did you watch ER?

Emily's gym cook out was fun. James' team lost Friday night. i took Emi to the monastery this am for her retreat and then went to James' games - they won! First time this season!! I then came home and have been cleaning ever since! I just cleaned myself up so i can go meet Emi for Mass. After that we will rent movies and get the last couple of things for the slumber party. Then back home to clean some more & make cupcakes!! Of course both kids have CCD tomorrow and both have practice!! Maybe I will take the day off Monday...

hi!

Its been one busy week. Marc got home thursday, so we went out to eat and watched a movie at home. Then after i finished class and work on friday, he picked me up and we ate and again sat around just relaxing watching another movie. Hes out for a run right now, so i figured it was a good time to catch up on the dis. i made sure to get all of my school work done earlier in the week because i just wanted to be able to spend the weekend with him and not doing work.

I've been having a really difficult time when marc is away. Last time he was gone for 2 weeks and i missed him terribly. I had plenty of stuff to do to keep myself busy, but i miss having him here with me everyday. I cant imagine doing that for the rest of my life, it's very hard. It was especially hard because theyve been having wildland training and i didnt see him much while i was staying at home with my grandma. Then as soon as we got back home he left for another 2 weeks.:faint: Its going to continue like this for the next month or so because he has classes and is teaching some of the wildland classes. On a better note as of the 12th hes off his probation period, so that went really fast!

Have you guys had to deal with this? How did you manage?

On a brighter note, I love to order the brochures through disney and recently they sent me the DVC package. It came with a coloring book, so i colored a picture and mailed it to my grandma with a little message. There was a picture on the other side so i told her it was her turn to color. Yesterday in the mail i got a card from my grandma with an adorable kitten saying thanks for being there when i need you. She colored the other picture and send it back to me with some money to help me out. I just thought it was so sweet. I was there to help her out and she talks to me on the phone and tries to make me feel better when im lonely. tries because she usually just unintentionally reminds me how alone i am which makes me cry.:rotfl: Shes my favorite person in the world and that letter just brighten my day.

Everyone have a great weekend and dont burn yourself out!

Karen - I did watch ER last night, and it was good, but I was surprised with how unsad it was. Did you watch it?

CB - I"m sorry you are having times of loneliness  I not a good person to ask if this has happened to me, because Kevin is volunteer, which means he's paid on call. He goes if he wants, and doesn't go if wants - he's never away for long periods of time. Karen would be the best person to ask. But I'll send a hug your way, and hope it gets easier to deal with

Well, I'm off to clean house - the cleaning never ends.
Have a good day!!!

I had a great day yesterday!:)
I worked alot around the house - I cleaned and cleaned. Then at 3:30pm I curled up with a blanket on the couch and watched tv until bedtime - it was great!!!! I watched RV, The Day After Tomorrow, and then The Fast and the Furious. I've seen all these before, but that's okay, it was nice to relax:goodvibes

We had snow last night and it was pretty incredible. When I took Sophie out, when it first started snowing, the flakes were so large, that it was loud when they would hit the umbrella. Sophie didn't know what to think - she kept chasing them. As much as I hate snow - it was pretty cool standing outside last night. Now, I hope it all goes away super fast!!!!!!

Time to get Stephanie up for school - have a good day everyone!!!

:surfweb:

The snow melted really fast - that's great!!!!:thumbsup2

It's time to eat my grapefruit (I went to Aldi's last night and got some more, but the price isn't as great anymore - they are now $0.49 a piece - so I only got 4), and then get Steph up for school.
Have a great day!!!
