sandy - good for you!! It's great that you are so motivated about walking!!

Have a great day everyone!
I'm really enjoying it, but my knees aren't - they are killing me :headache: I"m starting to wonder if I made a bad decision to start this, but I feel so energized after walking in the morning. I've even started jogging in small spurts, and I"m sure that my knees are really ticked off about that - but I love it!!!!! I always dreamed of running a marathon, especially the Disney marathon, and I was up to running 6 miles before I had Stephanie, and I would love to get to that again. But we'll see if my knees will allow it

Hello Ladies!

The museum was fun yesterday...it was crowded and really LOUD in there though:headache: I think everybody came out to see the Star Wars exhibit.

The kids always get a kick out of driving through the city. It really takes them out of their element!! They can't believe some of the things they see:scared1:

Have a great day everyone:wave2:

Kimba
I"m glad you had fun at the museum yesterday :cool1:
There was a Star Wars Exhibit here at our museum recently - I wonder if the one you saw is the same exhibit? What type of museum was this again? The museum here is The Museum of Science and Industry.

Well, I'm off and running - I'm doing my stepbox aerobics this morning
Have a good day today everyone!!!

When I went out for my walk yesterday, there was a big grey coyote staring me down right in front of my house - I didn't like it!!!! :sad2: Luckily, he was behind a cyclone fence in a retention area, but it would have taken nothing for him to hop that fence, or to run to a broken area of the fence to get out. But it made no effort to come after me, it just wanted to make me nervous by staring at me. By the time I got back to my house, it was gone.

Have a good day friends!!!

sandy - that would creep me out too! The only coyotes I've ever seen were dead.

I am still tired from my trip. It's hard getting back into the swing of things! Yesterday at work was rough! One of our nurses was out, so we were running all over the place. Today should be better. Synagis season ends this month, so we will be slowing down soon.

Have a super day!!

It was The Franklin Institute - It's a science museum mostly dedicated to Benjamin Franklin and his inventions.

Wow, that's scary!! Do you bring a big stick or pepper spray with you? Coyotes mostly likely won't attack humans but if they are sick or injured or have babies with them they could. Just be real careful and watch your back. We don't want anything to happen to you!!

That post trip fog is tough!! Especially for you being a nurse - you always have to be on your game!! Usually we are coming home right into Christmas preparations. Getting the tree, wrapping presents, etc. It gets crazy!!

My :firefight DD went to her first drill Monday night. She had a good time and laughed alot. They were having a class by paramedics about firefighter fitness and health (all the while having pizza as their snack:rotfl: ) The got their Blood Pressure taken and they ran EKG's on everyone to have as a baseline for their file. Ok DH told me this when they got home and I shot him a look:scared1: ....he said "The women were in the office with the door closed, no men at all in there!":lmao:
The have roped my DD into joining the dive team as well. She is deathly afraid of boats and wanted nothing to do with it. But they convinced her that the woman who does the accountability needs help. She has to monitor their air tank levels and who is in and who is out. So DD is going to do it on the condition she goes nowhere near a boat. She can't swim but she will have to wear a personal floatation device whenever she's on a dive scene.

We had a call early this morning. One of our firefighter's DD had a seizure. She's 10 and has never had one before. They live one house away from us and are friends with my children. They rushed her to the hospital. Hopefully they will get some answers as to why. Scary:scared:

Well I'm off to start school with the kids!! Have a good day everyone!!
Kim

Hi all!!!

Lets hope that the coyote isn't staring me down again this morning when I go outside - he/she makes me a little nervous:rolleyes:

Kathy - What is Synagis season? I've never heard of that before.
**I hate going back to work after vacation too ::yes:: It's always hard to get motivated.

Kimba - I would love that museum, because I love historical things ::yes::
**I don't carry anything with me, because it would slow me down. I speed walk, and I'm trying to train myself to do the Tower of Terror run/walk at MGM Studios when I am there in October. In order to do this though, you have to walk a 16 minute mile, and this event is 9 miles long. So far I walk 2 miles in a 1/2 hour, so I'm right where I need to be, but I need to keep up that pace for 7 more miles:eek: I'll be able to do it, but it's going to really take some training :) Thanks for the hugs!!!! :goodvibes
**Your DD sounds like an amazing young lady!!! I bet you are so proud of her!!!:goodvibes
**How is the little girl by your house?

Well, I gotta get up and start walking
Have a good day today everyone!!

Kimba - **How is the little girl by your house?

I talked to her dad last night. The doctors think she may have Lupus. He seems really shaken up by it all. Her mom had two seizures before and it took them months to figure out that she has Lupus. Apparently it's hereditary. They are going to take her to a pediatric neurologist to find out more.

His wife suffers severe memory loss because of her seizures, so they are concerned about the effect the seizure had on their DD. They also have a younger DD too that they will need to watch closely.

Thanks for asking Sandy!

Go look with your training! I'm sure you'll reach your goal - attitude is everything!!:thumbsup2

I have to go grocery shopping today..can I borrow some of your stamina?:rotfl:

Have a great day!

Does anyone here watch ER?
Does anyone here think that it's time for that show to go away?
I started watching that show at the very beginning, and have NEVER missed an episode, and I have vowed to see it through until the end. I just can't get over how bad this show has gotten:sad2: it sorta makes Kevin and I laugh every Thursday. I got season 1 for Christmas, and when I watch it, it blows me away about how awesome that show used to be. All good things need to come to an end, and this show is one of those things ::yes::
(no offense to those that disagree)

kimba - How sad about the little girl having Lupus :guilty: I didn't know kids got Lupus - I thought that was a grown up thing. I'll keep her in my prayers:angel: and please keep us posted on how she is doing.

Karen - :wave2:

Well, I guess I should start thinking about getting my behind in the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!!

sandy - I gave up on ER years ago! It has been on a looooong time!
Synagis is similar to a vaccine. It is given to preemies, babies with heart problems or other illnesses to protect them from RSV. It is given from October - April. I like your new addition to your siggie!

Kimba - how terrible that the little girl may have lupus! I will keep her & her family in my prayers!

I used to watch ER when it first started. I really liked it back then. I tend to stay away from tv dramas now. Well...I do like Deadliest Catch. DH was hooked on Heroes till the writers strike.

I was surprised that young children could get Lupus too. Her dad said it's hereditary. Her mom is Latino and they tend to have a higher chance of getting it. Right now he's trying to get her in to see a specialist near Philadelphia. Insurance companies have a way of making things difficult!!
Thanks for the prayers! She'll be happy to know people are praying for her.

Tomorrow is the Chocolate Buffet:yay: We plan to take her on a horse-drawn carriage ride too. She is so excited! My youngest DD is excited because she gets to bake cookies with grandma. My DS is going to hang out with my nephew and play Rock Band all day:rolleyes1

I'll let you know how it goes!! I won't be able to use my wheelchair because the streets are cobblestone so I'll be just using my cane. Should be interesting!!

Today is the BIG day!!!!! (Stephanie's First Communion)
I can't believe it's finally here:guilty: :) (2 smilies for that one)
Stephanie has to be at the church by 8:30am for professional photos. After I drop her off, I have to go back home and get Katie ready. Then Kevin, Katie, and I will get back to the church by 9:20am (thank goodness we live really close). After Mass we are going to a hall and having a party with approx 50 guests - it should be really nice:goodvibes So it's going to a very busy, and emotional day - I'm ready though, I already stuffed my purse with tissues :thumbsup2

Karen - Thanks for the explanation on Synagis :)
**Thanks for liking my siggie addition. I'm hoping that it keeps me on track to lose some inches around my waist. It's been really bothering me that all my pants are tight in the waist - I don't like it!!!!:sad2: I'm not looking to wear a bikini again, or have a rock hard body, all I want is to not have to buy new clothes because my current ones are to tight.

Kimba - How was you night last night? I'm so anxious to hear all about it :)

Well, I have to go make myself beautiful for the day (just to get all misty eyed once I"m at the church:sad1: ) All these kids are going to look like little angels today:angel:

Have a good day today everyone!!

Dear Slo-Have a wonderful, blessed day. I know you are so happy for Stephanie. Baptism is a great beginning but to actually be able to receive Jesus in the Eucharist is almost overwhelming--something even the heavenly angels cannot do. Love to you and your family, Grannywishes

Yesterday was a fabulous day!!!!!! :goodvibes
The church service was wonderful, and boy was it packed with people (standing room only, with people smouched (sp?) together:eek: ). I could just see how Kevin was thinking that was over Fire Code:laughing: All the kids looked beautiful:angel: and the priest did a fabulous job explaining to the kids exactly what they were about to do - it was just great!!!!! :)

After Mass we went to the hall, and that was great too. The catering company (people I know) did a beautiful job with everything. The food was great, the service was awesome, it made the day perfect!!!! :goodvibes It was also so nice to visit all the friends and family that came - loved it!!!! Stephanie was in her glory with being the center of attention:cloud9:

After the party a couple of friends came back to the house and chilled out with us for awhile - that was nice!!!! :goodvibes Then we got some pizza for dinner (I was starving because I barely ate at the party) and then everyone went home. What a great great great day!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Oh grannywishes, thank you so so much!!!! :goodvibes
It means so much to me that you came by here to post that!!!!
Please please come by anytime to visit - you are always welcome!!!! :grouphug:

I'm off and running, to catch up on some work around the house
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Sandy - sounds like you had a wonderful day!!! I'm glad everything went smoothly. I'm sure your DD looked beautiful!! Did you need to use all those tissues??

We did our chocolate buffet yesterday. Well first we did a private horse drawn carriage ride. We really enjoyed this. We had a very feisty horse! Apparently she used to be a carriage horse in NY and they don't stop for red lights. Well in Cape May they do and this horse was NOT happy about stopping!! I think this ride was the highlight for DD.

Next up was the Chocolate Buffet. It was really nice. They had a Chocolate decadence cake and OH MY!! was it delicious. The had chocolate croissant bread pudding, various fondues, chocolate "grown up" drinks and so much more!! The only draw back I think was that we were too hungry. The more chocolate things DD and I eat the sicker we started to feel. We actually had to get up and leave early to get some real food. So we went to this cute little cafe. I got the most delicious cheeseburger!! It was huge! By the time we were done eating the weather had changed for the worse and DD was freezing so we headed out.

Of course we had to stop for Salt Water Taffy before we left. We couldn't eat any but we brought it home.

We had a great day. However when I got to my mom's to pick up my younger DD I found her to be not feeling well. She looked awful, and was complaining of a belly ache:sad1: I've been keeping an eye on her today. She still says her belly hurts but she has a bad headache too. I had a rough night too. I was hurting so bad I felt nauseous. Plus I was worried about her.....I didn't sleep much:sad2: So today we are taking it easy.

I gotta go check in on Jocelyn (my little one)...Have a great day!!
Kim

sandy - I am so glad everything went wonderfully for Stephanie! Did you have to use all your tissues?

kimba - I am glad ya'll had a good birthday celebration! How is Jocelyn feeling?

I had such a productive day yesterday!!!
We went to the mall, and searched it from top to bottom for a spring coat for me to wear with a dress (I wanted it long), and there wasn't one to be found in the entire mall - I was so mad!!!! :headache: I asked Kevin, "It is only April isn't it?" He agreed that it was unbelievable that there were no coats to be found - how ridiculous!!! I told him that I need to open a store that's called "Always in Season" and it's a store where the season we are in, is the only type of clothes I'll sell - I think it sounds like a good idea!!!:thumbsup2 (I'm really not opening that).
Then when we came home (this is the productive part) I went outside and picked leaves out of my rocks for 3 hours, and completed the task :woohoo: (I have a lot of rocks, and there were ALOT of leaves). I wish my tree shed it's leaves in the fall, so I didn't have to do it in the spring, but it doesn't shed it's leaves until Jan/Feb. I was glad to have a decent day to do it yesterday, because it's so much easier to do before all the Purple Plum bushes get it's leaves. I tried using the blower for the first time, and I wasn't very talented at it:sad2: I told Kevin to tell our neighbor the next time they have a fire call that if he has some leaves in his yard, it's because of me:laughing:
So, that was my day yesterday!!!! :)

Kimba and Karen - I didn't have to use all my tissues, and in fact, I was a little annoyed on how the CCD leader ran things. She wouldn't allow the parents to be present when the children were practicing, so we had no idea about anything (even the priest didn't know what was going on. When he wanted Mass to be over, she says to him "they have a song to sing". He says, "Oh, they have a song?" she says "Yes" - I couldn't believe that she didn't even fill in the priest:eek: ). I would have liked to have sat on the same side of the church as Stephanie, but we sat on the other side (unknowingly) and I barely saw her. They had rules about when parents could enter the church, and then didn't enforce it, and because we followed the rules, we got really crappy seats (which wouldn't have annoyed me if everyone followed the rules) and there were other things. The CCD Leader is a real piece of work, and I don't care for how she runs things. The whole thing happened so fast, that I blinked and it was over. Oh well, what are you going to do.

Kimba - I'm so glad you had fun on Saturday, but I'm sorry you and your other DD don't feel well :guilty: I'll send tons of PD your way to feel better soon:wizard: :wizard:

Karen - :wave2:

Well, I need get outside and go for my walk :cold:
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good morning all! I woke up this morning with both eyes almost swollen shut - yikes! I put in my allergy drops and am hoping for the best! I'm not sure the families I go see would have much confidence in a mostly blind nurse!

I took James & Emily to the doctor yesterday. Emily just needed her sports physical which was great. James has been having leg pain for awhile so I wanted to get that checked. He has shin splints! Ouch!

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies!

Karen - shin splints hurt!! I've had them before and my oldest gets them often from dancing. There isn't much to do to treat them is there??

Jocelyn is feeling better now. Not sure what that was about! She also finally lost a tooth that had been bugging her for over a week!! I think I was happier then she was!!

My DD16 - Kayla, went to her first official Dive team drill yesterday. The Chief taught her how to work the accountability board and how to fill out the diver worksheets. She even has her own accountability tag now. She seems to really enjoy it.

Wow...it seems like I'm always talking about my daughters. I have a son too..really I do!!:rotfl:

I'm really sad today because of the news of Bob's (Bawb from the Dis podcast) passing. I didn't know him in person but his death has really upset me. Not many people understand how you can become friends over the internet but I know you ladies do!!

Thanks for listening!
Kim

We are 1/2 way through the week!!:cheer2:
I'm getting ready to do a car show this week (I have a booth for the store), and I'm really looking forward to getting it over with. I'm not looking forward to it:sad2: It's going to be cold and damp - not fun!!! But I'm hoping that it will give me alot of exposure, and drum up some more business (fingers crossed).

Karen - Oh no!!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your eyes:guilty: How are they doing today? Did the drops work? I'll send tons of PD your way for your eyes to get back to normal ASAP!!!:wizard: :wizard:

Kimba - I feel so embarrassed to say that I have no idea who Bob was, I never heard of him:sad2: I read the thread that Webmaster Alex did to inform everyone of his passing, I couldn't believe I didn't know who he was  especially after 4 years of being here, and posting as much as I do. I guess I just didn't go where he was.

Well, it's time to go!!!
Have a good day today everyone!!!

kimba - James has some exercises to do and we are going to put inserts in his shoes. They also rec. he wear his Nike shocks all the time. He loves this because his school shoes are pretty much shot form a whole year of wear! They do hurt him alot! It really breaks my heart! I am glad Jocelyn is feeling better and lost her tooth. I think that is great about your other DD and the dive team! You will have to declare one day to only tell us about your son!

I had read a few threads about the podcast so I had heard mention of Bob. I am sorry to hear his death is affecting you!! I really don't understand the whole concept of the podcast - explain it to me sometime! I totally understand about getting close to people on the Internet!!

sandy - Good luck with the car show! I hope you get lots of business!!!!! My eyes stayed puffy all day, but never got worse! They are much better this morning!

Mom and I went to a sneak preview with the kids last night. I love free movies! We saw Iron Man. It was very good, only one little sex scene. It really didn't need that scene, but I guess if half of your target audience is men... We did enjoy it. I am happy that it seems like Robert Downey, Jr. is getting his life together!

:surfweb:

Hey.....It's May 1st!!!! :flower2:
That means I can plant my flowers this month, we open the pool this month, I can take my summer clothes out of the attic this month, it's the last full month of school - I think I'm going to love this month!!!!!

Karen - Thanks for me good luck with this car show on Saturday :car: With the weather is looking, I'm starting to wonder if this show is going to happen (due to rain). I hope it does, because the rain date is next Saturday, and that's when I have my glucose intolerance test, and I don't want to reschedule that, but I will if I have to. So we'll see what happens:rolleyes:
**I'm glad you eyes got better!!! :)

Well, I'm off to get ready for a Chamber of Commerce breakfast this morning.
Have a good day today everyone!!!
