slo - My doctor was a little stunned by my resignation, but he didn't offer me more money to stay, so... Everybody is very supportive. I hate to leave because I really like my job, but I am trying to feel very positive about the new one because it should be better for my family. My last day will be the 29th.

Our steam is starting to run out
We were at the store again late - until 10:20pm
The kids have been really great - I'm so glad we got the tv w/ dvd player for them. They just lay in the office and watch tv . But I'm starting to feel so quilty about keeping them up so late. I told Stephanie that after Friday, it's going to be much better.


So today is a very very busy day - I'm not looking forward to it at all
After I get to work, I have a 100 things to do.
Then at 11:30 I have a Chamber of Commerce lunch (I joined our town's business Chamber of Commerce).
After that I have to go back to the store and do another 100 things.
After my delivery, which will hopefully be on time, I need to rush home and get Stephanie ready for her dress rehearsal - that's at 5:30pm at a school that's a 1/2 hour away.
After that I need to feed us, and go back to the store so my mom and I can make 150 gift bags for this party tomorrow.
Afterwards I can come home and die


All I can say is thank goodness I have my new employee. She has been helping me so much - she's just great!!!! She'll be at the store today while I'm gone to do things - she's been a great help!!!!


Karen - I'm glad the resignation went well. Even though the doctor was stunned, I can guarantee that he was grateful that you gave 4 weeks notice - I still think that was really great of you!!!


Well, I gotta go figure out what I'm going to wear to this lunch
I don't want to go because I have so much to do. But they are all invited to my party tomorrow, so I need to go.

Well, I survived yesterday, now I have to survive today

Think of me at 5:30pm tonight, that's when I'll be having my ribbon cutting. I can hardly wait to tell you all about it tomorrow!!!!

I AM SO GLAD THAT YESTERDAY IS OVER!!!!!!

The party went very well, and it was a success. I was expecting some more people, but with it being a Friday night, in the summer, maybe they had other plans. I know several people we knew couldn't come due to their children having baseball/softball games. But we still had a good showing, and everyone had nothing but compliments for the store, which made me feel very good

I woke up this morning to another phone call about the alarm going off The phone call came in at 5:30am, and I had to run over there to turn the alarm off and meet the police. It was sorta funny though because the police officer that responded was someone I invited to the party, but couldn't come because he had to work. So I told him, "So you decided to make it to the party afterall!" We both laughed!!!

Now today we have Stephanie's dance recital at 12:30 and then this weeks activities are over!!!! To celebrate the end of the week, my family and us are going back over to the store after the recital and having left overs from last night. Sandwiches, fruit, cheese, and cake - it will be nice to sit and relax!!!!

Tomorrow I think Kevin and the girls are going to go swimming, and I have to go to the store and finish putting all the prices into my computer system. It's a boring job, but not a stressful job, so I don't mind doing it. Plus I need to have it done to be ready to open on Monday

Well, I gotta get ready for this recital, and then get Stephanie awake to make her beautiful for this recital. She really wants to wear makeup, and have sparkles in her hair She's going to look so grown up - I want her to stay little and small forever.

How is everybody doing?

All is well on our end. 2 more weeks until Brett is done school for the summer!! Going to WDW with all 3 kids and my parents before my oldest 2 move out the day after we get back. Jesse is going away for his 1st year in College and Tyler and his GF of 6 years have rented an apt. right next to their school for their last year. It's going to be so weird without them here!!! At least they'll be kind of close by...2 hours at most. Lucky that Brett will only be 11 in July...means I won't be an empty-nester yet!!!

Lisa - welcome back!

Sandy - I am so glad your party went well!!! I know you will be glad to settle into a routine! How was the recital? Was she beautiful???




We had a football camp at the park today. It takes alot of people & work to put all that together! The heat makes it rough!!
Jim and James leave tomorrow. They are headed to University of Alabama for a football camp with Nick Saban & his staff. I am going to miss my baby! I am so glad Jim is going!!! He will stay at Sarah's apartment and watch everyday. james will sleep at the dorms.
Sarah went to Atlanta this weekend for a Braves gane with her friends. She is doing GREAT in her summer classes and I am enjoying haivng her home.
Emily's school squad went to camp last week and they were great!! They got a bunch of awards. Miss Emily got picked as one of the All Stars (best at camp). This comes with an invite to march in the Thanksgiving pre parade at WDW!!!!!!!!!! I talked with Jim and he didn't pass out!! There is hope that this could work out! Keep your fingers crossed!

The recital yesterday went great, and I'm so glad that all these events are officially over!!!! Now I can open the store tomorrow w/o any extra stress


Today we are going to try to get a little pool time in. The girls have been wanting to swim so bad for so long, and it finally looks like we'll time for that

Karen - Stephanie did look beautiful, and old Since she's an "older" girl, she had to put all her bangs back (not easy) and wear makeup - it really made her look older.

Well, today is the big day - I'M OFFICIALLY OPEN!!!!!!

Yesterday was a very relaxing day for me, and I really needed it too After we went to church, we came home and had some nice pool time. The girls played and played, and I laid and laid I tried floating in the pool, but the breeze was a little cool. So I laid on the lounge chair for 3 hours - it was heaven Then last night we watched tv, and I was in bed by 10:15 (which was great, because all last week I was coming home at 10:15pm.)


Today is the start of Katie going to school everyday - she's not happy That makes me feel bad, but I know she will have loads of fun once she starts getting into the everyday routine. Katie has a hard time with changing her schedule, so I hope it doesn't take her a long time to adapt.


Stephanie goes to work with me on Monday's and Thursday's, so she has no daycare today. My mom, brother, and SIL are going to surprise Stephanie by taking her miniture golfing and out to lunch today - she's going to love that!!! I can hardly wait to tell her later (after Katie is at school).


Well, I gotta run and get ready for work.
Then I need to clean some house before I go to work (I'd rather do it in the morning, than at night or the weekend).

Sandy - I hope your first official day is great!! How nice that ya'll have a cool breeze there! It is super hot here - but then it is summer in the south! : ) Next week we go to the beach for a week. We are using my doctor's condo. I was worried he would change his mind when I turned in my notice, but he didn't. I am looking forward to just relaxing for a week!

sandy - Congrats on a successful first day!

Me & the kids will go to the condo and Jim will try to come down for part of the week. It's only about an hour drive from our house.

James is having a great time at his camp. IHis daddy is having lots of fun, too. They will be home tomorrow afternoon. I miss them!

Stephanie has to be at daycare by 8:20 this morning - not good!!! The "school-agers" are going on a field trip and they are leaving at 8:30am. I'm always up with the chickens, but Katie isn't - she's NOT going to be happy when I wake her up earlier than normal , and then make her go to school earlier than normal She's going to be really mad at me!!!!


The good thing about the girls going to school early is I can go to the grocery store before I go to work. I'm trying to keep food at the store, so when the kids are there, I know they have lunch, dinner, or snacks. We got a decent size fridge w/ freezer so I can keep lunchables and frozen dinners in there. So I'm going to go to Jewel and get some of these items before work.

Stephanie had a great time on her field trip, and was no problem getting to daycare. Katie was exactly as I expected - very crabby!!! But then when she gets to daycare, she's all smiles No one would ever believe me if I told them how crabby she was at home


Luckily today, the girls can sleep in a little bit before we need to start our day. I'm so glad that I decided to open the store at 10pm instead of 9am.

TGIF EVERYONE!!!!


I didn't have a single sale yesterday But, I refuse to get frustrated, because I know things will pick up once people know that I'm there. I had a second coupon drop in the paper, so I hope to see those soon Luckily, I still have things to do around the store, so the time goes by fast. Plus I get a lot of visitors throughout the day - which is always nice!!!!

I had no sales again today
Not even a single phone call
But, I'm still trying not to get frustrated.
The one thing that I am disqusted with is how much money I have put into advertising, and I'm not getting anyone to acknowledge it. I guess I was hoping that people would see my ads and call to inquire about the place. Oh well, I just gotta keep the faith, and tell myself that I know things will pick up soon.



Well, this is my last 45 minutes here, and then I"m going to rush home, woof down dinner, and then Kevin and I are going to take the girls shopping at Kohl's. Poor Stephanie has basically no shorts to wear I need to go buy her some before the winter clothes start coming out


I may not post first thing in the morning because I may sleep in a little before coming to work. So....I will see you all sometime tomorrow

We are celebrating Father's Day today since Jim works tomorrow. We got up early (not sure why!) and paid the bills. I know this sounds stupid, but Jim likes it when I sit down and participate in the "paying of the bills" - I say whateveer - it's his Father's Day! The kids gave him a bunch of gifts. We are goung to Waffle House for breakfast (well not Sarah - she went back to bed) and then to the flea market. Jim could walk around there for hours. James loves it too. Emily and I lose interest in about 30 minutes, so we'll see how long we stay!

Well, I am off for the day!! I will check in tonite!

I slept in a little longer than normal for me, and it felt good. We were out late last night (until 10:30pm) buying Stephanie new summer clothes. I'm glad we went, because Kohls was having a pretty good sale She got alot of new stuff!!!!


Today the bank, by my plaza, is having a 2nd Grand Opening celebration to help spark some new business. The PD and FD are both there, and they also have a jumpy house, clown, and food. Kevin is there representing the FD, so the girls are happy because they can be over there and have fun


I'm hoping that this event will help generate some awareness of my store. I haven't had anyone come in yet, but the days not over yet - hopefully someone will come in today

So how did the day go Sandy?

We had a nice day. Very low key, but it was nice to be together. I will leave with the kids tomorrow afternoon for the beach. James & Emi are both bringing a friend for the first part of the week. I will bring them back Wedneday. That is one of the nice things about being close. We don't have big plans while we are there - just taking it easy! I am going to take the laptop in the hopes I can find some free wi-fi down there!
