The store is officially 100% mine
I passed my occupancy inspection yesterday, and my landlord then got my occupancy permit. My build-out is done, and I will have no more contractors coming in and out of the store - I am so excited!!!!! I actually have a store - it's so hard to believe This is such a dream come true for me!!!!!


The carpet guys did their best to fix the problem. The walls are now cleaned, but naturally the scratches are still there They fixed the carpet on the wall by using contact cement - hopefully that will work


Today I have my rep and merchandiser coming from my main frame company to hang all my samples - I am so excited!!!! Once that happens, I will really look like a frame store I also have the Dish Network coming out today to hook up the tv - this is exciting too, because the girls are getting awful bored while we are there


Well, I gotta run because I have to get going earlier than normal today. Katie is not going to be happy with me when I wake her up She went to bed later than normal last night.

We are counting down the last days of school! Next Friday will be the last day! The kids can't wait!

TGIF EVERYONE!!!! ​

I actually look like a frame shop!!!!
75% of my samples are on the wall, and my rep is coming back today to finish the job (this company is so good to me!!)


What is everyone doing this weekend?
Tomorrow Kevin is staying home from Indy (what a great DH) so him and his dad can do the countertops in the store. My friend is also coming Saturday to help me set up the equipment
Sunday I have to concentrate on planting 2 flats of flowers (which are now in my shed because of the frost) and cleaning the house.
I have a pretty productive weekend in store

Kevin is staying home from Indy today so he and his dad can make the countertops for the store. That will be great to have that done, because the showroom will be finished then


Well, I gotta run and get myself ready for the day.
I was going to meet my friend today, but I'm now meeting him tomorrow. I figured it was easier that way, because then we are not tripping over Kevin and his dad. The store is a decent size, but it's not that big either So, since I"m not meeting Matt today, I'm going to do alot of house cleaning today - I need to get an early start

Good morning! I am working this weekend. Yuck! Emily & I went grtocery shopping last night & bought two shopping carts full! The kids love when everything is full!! We are starting to prepare for the end of school. They have several half days this week.

Mom & I are planning our pirate party for Friday night!! We love the pirate movies!!

I rarely go grocery "shopping" much any more since I went full-time. I'm in the store five days a week so I just pick up whatever we need when I'm there! I do love when we can do those two or three shopping cart trips, though!

Sandy - Did you get your flowers planted today? I want to re-do our beds in the front of the house one of these days soon. They don't get much sun so it's taking some time to figure out what all I'm going to put in there.

I am going into the hospital Tuesday for an out-patient procedure (lithotripsy) to have my other kidney stone busted up. Please keep me in your thoughts.

Well, I didn't plant my flowers yesterday because it was so cold outside So, I took advantage of the cold day and did alot of cleaning inside the house

I'm popping in for a quick hello this afternoon.

My PT's gave me the green light to not come in any more As happy as that makes me, I will miss them I enjoyed visiting with them every time I went in.

Katie had her first time being at the store with me for a couple of hours this afternoon. She got a little antsy, but I think that's because of the chair she had. I need to get her a nice bean bag chair so she can relax more - she probably would have fallen asleep if she had something more comfortable to sit in.


Well, I gotta go get Stephanie ready for dance

Good morning all!

I got some great news Monday afternoon. I went for my cat scan and the kidney stone was gone. It was supposed to have been rather large and the doctor can't believe that I would have passed it without knowing but that must be what I did! So, I didn't have to have the lithotripsy done.

Since DH and I had planned to be at the hospital all day yesterday and I was off and he was off until late afternoon it was like a real bonus day. So we took advantage of it and went to the lake for a picnic. We had a great time and it was so quiet. Here are a few pics from yesterday...

One thing that was nice was that we didn't have cell service around the lake. Once we got home DH's cell started ringing and I came into the house to find 6 messages!! And DH ended up having to go into work early. Oh, well, it was nice while it lasted.

Sandy, congratulations on not having to go to PT anymore. You must really be doing well. How much longer do you have to wear the knee brace?

Well, I'm off to work. I was supposed to be off today because I had taken yesterday, today and tomorrow off for the lithotripsy. But since I didn't have to have it done I volunteered to work today for my supervisor. She was working to cover for me and she's used to her Wednesdays off so now she's happy!

**Thanks for the congrats!!! I have to wear the knee brace faithfully until July, and then after that, I have to wear it when I feel it's needed. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate it It's so HOT - I could complain about it all day if you let me

It's such a beautiful night here in the Chicago area!!!!

Last night my friend was finally able to make it to my store to look at my equipment He taught me how to use the one item I bought (We didn't have this at the other store I worked at). It was easy to learn, but it's going to take alot of practice I think I'm going to have to buy some pieces of cheap moulding at Menards so I can practice using my new saw and my new joiner (that's the items I spoke of).


Today I someone coming to talk about their visa/mc program, which makes my head spin There are so many fees to talk about that they all start to sound the same. But he said he can do better than the first person I talked to, so that makes me happy!!!


My sign for the front of the store is suppossed to come today (fingers crossed). I can hardly wait to see - I"m so excited!!!!

Well, my sign didn't get put up yesterday due to issues with the town. I'm really hoping it gets put up today - it sounds like all the issues have been rectified - plus, I'm dying to see it!!!

We are counting down to the 7pm show of the new Pirates movie tonite!!!

Today was the last day of school!!! Emily will continue to have cheerleading practice with her school squad until they leave for camp in June. James is going to a football camp at the Universoty of Alabama this summer. He's pretty excited. Jim is going to stay at Sarah's apartment in Tuscaloosa while James is there. He can observe during the day and then go out to dinner and sleep at the apartment. Several of the dads are going and his sister lives there so he will have plenty of company. James will sleep at the dorms with all the other boys. This makes me nervous, but I think he's ready.

Well, my sign didn't go up again yesterday
My friend who recommended him (he also did her sign) left him a flaming message, and told him that she's not referring him anymore. So we'll see if I have a sign on Tuesday

The movie was GREAT!!! We really had fun! It was a radio premiere night at the same theater so the kids got:
SHrek magnets
Shrek tshirts
Spiderman 3 light up wrist bands
Shrek baseball hats
and James got a deck of Pirates playing cards

We had a big group. Emily took a friend, James had a friend & his little brothe, Sarah brough a friend. Then we had my Mom & Dad and my sister Tina (lives next door) and her new boyfriend Doug. Someone pulled the fire alarm about 5 minutes into the movie so we had a partial evacuation, but it was no big deal. They handled it well.

Well I am off to work today! Have a super Saturday!!
