Calling all Fireman wives!!!

Ok so I am ready to get my Christmas groove on!! I worked last night, but now I am off until the 27th!
I have a few loose ends to tie up with shopping, everything is wrapped, and I am up this morning working on cookies to send to the station.
Jim works Christmas day this year - so we will have very early presents before work. My best friend Christine (since high school) who Jim & I fixed up with a fire fighter on Jim's shift and who is now married to said firefighter have decided that we will take all the kids and go have dinner at the station with the guys that evening.

eeyore - I would be a little freaked out by the alarm! When I went to work where I am now, they had an alarm that thankfully quit working so I never had to work it!!

slo - we love Disney Scene It! Other people don't want to play with us because they say we know too much about Disney!

Well I am off to continue working on cookies!! When Sleeping Beauty (Sarah) wakes up, we will probably go finish up the shopping! Have a great day!

Happy Friday everyone!

I am so envious of both of you guys for having so much time off around the holidays. I know that I should be thankful not to have to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but I am so bummed not to have a little more time off around the holidays. I'm so used to having time for cookies and decorating and such. I just have no holiday spirit this year. Sorry for whining, just felt like venting. At least I'm glad that DH has both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off. That hasn't happened for many years.

I am off today. I'm just so overwhelmed by all that's left to do....like the majority of my shopping, all of my wrapping, etc. I just need some time to sit back and enjoy the holidays and feel the real spirit of the holiday!

I see that the boards will be down starting at 5 p.m. tonight so if we can't get on here before Christmas I want to go ahead and wish all of you and your famiies a very Merry Christmas. You are a very special group of friends!

Today I am making Christmas cookies all day, and the girls are so excited They love it when I bake!!!

Then tonight we are going to FD family's (friends) house for drinks and fingerfoods while the kids play - I can hardly wait, I love these couple of family's that are getting together.

Karen - I have the exact same loose ends as you. I'm confident they will all get done today I also have off as long as you - my next day of work is the 28th, which is also Kevin's birthday.

Kathy - I understand how you feel because that's how I have felt every year until this year. This is my first year working so little around the holiday's and I'm feeling a little guilty. Try not to get to stressed out - here's some Christmas PD coming your way, to help you out

Christmas is almost over.

The girls are in bed, and I'm sitting here watching Pirates on ABC.

We had such a wonderful holiday!!!!

We all received what we asked for - we are so blessed!!!!

Stephanie is in love with her American Girl doll

Katie is in love with her new Baby Annabelle doll.

I'm in love with all the wonderful gifts Kevin gave me - especially my new fondue pot and gazing ball for the backyard.

It was such a wonderful holiday!!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday too!!!!

Even though it's late, I wanted to pop in to tell everyone, Merry Christmas!

DH is working today, his first Christmas workday in his 13 years at the department. I sure do miss him.

I love relaxing at home, while checking out all the new gifts the kids have received. Kevin and I gave them a V-Smile this year, so I'm going to set that up for them today

It was slooooooowww yesterday and all throughout the night for them. Sometimes he's not sure if that's a good thing, or a bad thing, since it makes the 24 hours crawl by!

He has to work NYE too. I'm sure it won't be as quiet on that tour!

Yesterday was such a great day.

Stephanie and Katie played with their new V-Smile, and they seemed to like it. Katie needs a lot of help - so we'll play with that together when Steph goes back to school.

Stephanie and I played with her new Magic Kingdom board game, and it was fun. Each player gets 5 destinations and you have to visit all 5 of you destinations first to win - it's fun!!!!

Then Stephanie, Katie and I played with Katie's new Dora Candyland game. Katie never played Candyland before, and she enjoyed it - especially because she won the first game

Then we watched Cars on super surround-sound. That movie is great when it's loud


I'm not entirely sure what this day is going to bring.
I'm just playing it by ear

I'll be here alone, but that's okay, since I have to sit with my 107lb sissy of a Golden Retriever. She's petrified of fireworks!

If I get up, she'll literally walk in between my legs with me, so I almost end up riding her! Any holiday where they're selling fireworks, is usually one where you'll see me sitting at home with her.

Chloe, and she's a HUGE sissy. A big HAIRY sissy! Not the type of dog I'd recommend to someone with allergies, unfortunately!

Hope Kevin's b-day goes as planned! Take him somewhere where they'll make him where a sombrero at dinner and where they smash whipped cream all over his face. John loves it when I do that to him.

Hello everyone!! Sorry i haven't been around! James was sick before Christmas. We had a super Christmas. Jim had to work so we got up at zero dark thirty and had Christmas before he went in. Then we went to Christmas dinner at the station. It was nice. Then Mom, Emily & me went to see the Nativity Story. It was great! It was such a good way to remember the reason for the season!
Emily and I have been very sick! I made it out of bed & to the computer, so I must be getting better!!

Hello everyone!! Sorry i haven't been around! James was sick before Christmas. We had a super Christmas. Jim had to work so we got up at zero dark thirty and had Christmas before he went in. Then we went to Christmas dinner at the station. It was nice. Then Mom, Emily & me went to see the Nativity Story. It was great! It was such a good way to remember the reason for the season!
Emily and I have been very sick! I made it out of bed & to the computer, so I must be getting better!!

I hope you get to feeling better soon. I swear, I was fine an hour ago, and then I came down with the worst cold I've ever had!

At least I think (and hope) that's all it is. My throat is killing me, and I can't stop sneezing!

And... we were at Sam's Club earlier and John and I shared a soft drink. Ooooppppsss.

Thank goodness we can sleep in tomorrow!

Hello Everyone!

So glad to read back and see that everyone had a wonderful holiday. We did as well. We are very fortunate and blessed! Heather came up on Christmas Eve for the day and stayed through Christmas Day and went back to Charlotte that night. We had family friends over for Christmas dinner and had a very nice time!

We have ALL been sick since Christmas, though! Andrew had been sick right before Christmas and went to the doctor the day before Christmas evening. The doctor said he just had the "creepy crud" that was going around. Christmas night Matthew and DH started getting sick - fever, aches, headache. Not the same as Andrew had. Then Tuesday A.J. and I got it. I took A.J. and Matthew to the doctor yesterday. Seems A.J. has the same creepy crud that Andrew had but Matthew, DH and I all have the dreaded flu. It's really been terrible! Right now I'm suffering the effects of the non-drowsy cough medicine. I'm not coughing...but I can't sleep either!
