This is our second home :teeth:
Please continue with our regularly scheduled programming :thumbsup2

For our new friends................

Please share a little about yourself, and your relationship to a fireman/woman.
We love getting to know people :)

I got to bed at 11pm last night, and took some Tylenol PM's to make sure I slept, and I did sleep - really good. I actually feel more tired this morning than yesterday morning though, because I didn't get enough sleep. Whenever I lose a huge amount of sleep, it always takes me a couple nights to make it up.

After work I worked on garage sale stuff again, and the stuff at home is all organized, priced and ready. Now I need to get the stuff from the storage unit, and get that organized with the stuff at home, and I'll be all set. Kevin is still get ready for the sale. He cleaned out the garage yesterday, and today is cleaning out the shed. I sure hope all this stuff sells {{fingers crossed}}

Tonight is Katie's graduation from preschool - she is so excited!!!!!
I remember, like it was yesterday, when Stephanie graduated - where does the time go:guilty: So we are looking forward to that tonight:goodvibes

Tomorrow I work, and then in the evening, Kevin and I are going out for our anniversary, while the girls spend the night at my inlaws:yay::woohoo: Our anniversary was Wednesday - we've been married 14 years. We are eating at Weber Grill downtown, and I'm really looking forward to it. It's been a long time since we've eatin anywhere really nice, so it'll be a treat!!!:goodvibes

Sunday is going to be busy getting the yard and house ready for our company next week. So much to do, and I need like 3 days to do it. I hope I don't have to go back to my store that day, because that would make getting things done even more challenging:rolleyes:

So, that's my Friday and weekend in a nutshell.

Sam - Yes, this garage sale is a major event ::yes:: I'm hoping to make some decent $$, but we'll see. I don't have any big ticket items, like furniture, but I have mountains of baby/kids clothes and toys.

Karen - Have a safe and great trip:cool1: I can hardly wait to hear all about it!!!! You have a lot scheduled, but it'll be great!!! I wish I lived close to you, so I could see all your pictures when you came home.

Well, it's time to get Stephanie off to school.
Have a good day everyone!!!

Hi!
sandy - I am glad I checked in this morning so i can see our new home!!

Congratulations to Katie!! Time really does fly, doesn't it?:confused3
I hope you and your hubby have a great dinner!! It is nice to get away sometimes!
Your garage sale sounds huge! I hope ya'll make some money! We used to have yard sales. We even did a few that we organized with lots of families in our neighborhood and then advertised. we havn't done that in a while.

I think when I get home, I will upload my pics to Walgreen's or somewhere. Then i can order prints, but I can also share them online.
I am going to do a trip journal for Emi. Mom suggested it when we went to Europe and I did it then. It is amazing how many things slip your mind after a trip and the journal has been nice to share for me, Mom and Sarah. Sarah & I made a small scrapbook for Mom after the trip with pics, ticket stubs and funny comments from the journal. I think Emi & I will do the same thing.

I will try to check in while we are gone. I know some of the kids will have laptops.

:wave2:

I found you guys!

Now i have to go study and pack. Im going home tomorrow morning for the weekend and my firends B-day. Ill tty next week.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Katie's graduation last night was really nice, and she was beaming with pride:goodvibes She was also so glad to see her friends, because she hasn't been to the daycare in over a month. I sure hope some of these kids go to her elementary school, because they are a great group of kids!!! Then when we came home we made a fire and ate smores - the kids really wanted to do this!! It was a relaxing end to the day, which is something I needed!!!

Karen - Thanks for Katies congrats :)
The trip journal sounds like a great idea:thumbsup2 Have a great time!!!

CB - Have a nice time at home with friends and family:)

I gotta go take the dog out :dog: and get ready for work
Have a great day today!!!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I've been lurking for awhile and thought it was time to say hello and introduce myself. Both my DH and I work for a fire department in a suburb of Kansas City (on the Kansas side). He is a Captain and I work in prevention. There are about 120 or so people on our department. We have two DD - teenagers  that keep us busy with their sports and activities - they are so much fun! I spent part of my childhood growing up around Disneyland so have been a disneyholic for many years. I have introduced my family to the joys of Disney and although sports has kind of rearranged some of our visits, it is truly our fav place. Glad to finally be 'hanging out' with you all!

It was a very busy and productive weekend.

Dinner at Weber Grill was nice (this is where we ate for our anniversary - it is downtown Chicago), but not our best experience there. They sat us next to the grills, which isn't the best place to be - so LOUD!!!!! Not a romantic place to sit:sad2: Poor Kevin didn't realize that the white stuff in his bowl was horseradish, he thought it was cottage cheese, and he ate a big spoonful of it - not good:sad2: My steak was medium rare, instead of medium, so it had to go back - that took alot away from the meal:guilty: So it wasn't our best experience there:sad2: But we'll be back, we still love it:thumbsup2

Yesterday was very productive with getting ready for the garage sale. We got all the boxes out of the storage unit, and got them emptied in the garage (not organized). The rest of the kids clothes are organized and ready to be put out. So the only thing left to do it organize the stuff in the garage, and then put all the clothes outside on Thursday morning :thumbsup2

The rest of the week is going to be dedicated now to getting the house ready for company on Thursday and Friday night. Everything in this house seems disgusting, because it's been so neglected. So that's next on my agenda:thumbsup2

Busy busy busy!!!!!

puffin - A new friend!!!!!:woohoo::yay:
:welcome:
We love new friends!!!!! Please come by often - we would love to get to know you!!!!
That's great that you and your DH work together - I would love to do that!!!!
My DH is a paid on call firefighter - so when the pager rings, he goes. He's been doing this now for almost 12 years - I can't believe it's been that long. He really enjoys it, and we've met some wonderful people throughout those 12 years:goodvibes

Well, it's time for me to get Steph up for her last week of school:woohoo:
Have a great day!!!

Life is still crazy with getting ready for this garage sale, and family dinners this week. My house is a disaster, my garage is a disaster, and I couldn't tell you the last time I've cleaned my house  I can hardly wait for this week to be OVER!!!! I want my house and garage back - I can't take this messiness anymore!!!!:headache:

Karen - I hope you are having a good time on your trip!!!!:cool1:

Well, I'm off to get this day started
Have a good Tuesday everyone!!

Yawn........one more day until the garage sale:woohoo::yay:
I've been getting ready for this thing since January, when I put my Christmas decorations away. I'm so tired of thinking about it, that I can hardly wait for it to be over and out of my hair!!!!

Speaking of the garage sale.
I will not be on the rest of the week due to me having this. The sale begins at 8am, but I need to be outside by 6am getting stuff outside and organized, so I will have no time. I will try to check in on Sunday, but I may not, if I sleep in, then during the day, we have a ton of yard work to do. So I may not be back on until Monday.

Well, I gotta run and clean some house for all the company I"m having over for dinner Thursday and Friday night.
Have a good day!!!

Last week so LONG!!! :faint:
But fun at the same time!!! :teeth:

While getting ready for the garage sale, we also hung out with our neighbors alot (they did it with us) and had some great laughs. The kids were able to play alot, and it was fun!!!

Thursday was a bit of a nightmare with all the rain  I slept only 2 hours that night because my mind was raining on what to do because of the rain - we had so much stuff - especially baby/kids clothes. We did have several tents that we put up, but everything and everyone still got so wet. It was not a fun day!!!!:sad2: There was still a great turnout with people, and we made alot of money:woohoo: Then that night my relatives came over, and my mom bought pizza. It was hard to entertain when we were all so dead tired (the mom's too, who helped all day).

Friday was a nicer day, which was nice, because we could spread things out more. We still had a decent amount of people come, but not as much as Thursday, and we made 1/2 of what we made on Thursday. Then that night the relatives came over again and we had a cookout and a fire outside - we also invited our neighbors. It was alot of fun and we were outside until 11pm.

Saturday was a yucky weather day again, which was unfortunate. We were selling everything for 1/2 off, and didn't make as much as Friday, but we still did well :thumbsup2 Then that night we had another cookout at the neighbors, but we didn't stay out as late - we were tired. The mom's (me and my neighbor) took the kids in by 9pm, and the guys stayed out until 11pm. It was another fun night!!!!

Sunday I caught up with doing some things in the house, and then I went outside and worked. I got the pool deck all swept off and the furniture all set up. Then I started pulling weeds - buckets and buckets of weeds:eek: The girls play area is like someone seeded it with weeds - it's awful!!!!!:scared1:I pulled 4 huge buckets of weeds, and that wasn't even all of it. I found Poison Ivy growing through the fence, and I'm not happy about that at all :sad2: It scares me to think what is on the other side of the fence:eek: I need to send Kevin to check it out. Then I raked tons of mulch, in their area to even it out. I wasn't planning on doing it, but one thing led to another and I just did it. Now today I am very very sore!!!! But I feel good about getting it done :thumbsup2

Well, I need to go get ready for work.
I hope all is well with everyone!!!
Have a great day!!!

Hi all! We are home from our trip. it was really wonderful. Emi was sick on Sat. and on the overnight bus ride. She came in Sunday afternoon and just crashed. Her temp was >102 all night. I went ahead and took her to the MD since we had been travelling and lo and behold she has the flu! What a yucky souvenier! So, she is currently quarantined in her room. She has cable and Sarah leny her a laptop. I set her up with snacks and a little ice chest with some gatorade. Now we wait! We wait for her to get better and wait to find out if she has the H1N1 (swine) flu. There is no difference in the treatment - just a whole bunch of phone calls and stuff from the Health Dept.
I will try to post some pics when we get some - the lost camera is a story for later!!

Nothing to new going on around here - just trying to get our house back together after the garage sale last week. Even though the actual garage sale was only a couple of days, the week of planning and organizing really took a toll on our house:upsidedow

Karen - Welcome home!!!!:goodvibes
I"m so sorry to hear about Emi getting sick :guilty: Have you found out if she's got Swine Flu or not? How is she feeling today? Hugs to her!!!

Well, I best get going and get ready for work
Have a good day!!

Greetings everyone!

sandy - we won't know the final type on Emi's flu until later. She will probably be all better then. She is doing well, thanks for the hugs! She has really been great. I stayed home again today to make sure she stays in her room! How are things there? Are the girls excited for summer? How is Kevin's hunt going?

sam - how were your exams? the wedding?

puffin - :welcome: Please come by often!

Off to do more laundry :laundy: - Sarah's today!

Morning all! It is going to be hot here again today - 97 degrees! I am going back to work at least for 1/2 the day. Emi has had no fever for > then 48 hours, so she isn't contagious. She is still pretty weak and sore. She has been a really great patient! I may let her out to the livingroom today. We found out one other friend from the trip had a positive flu yesterday.

how is everybody doing?

Well friends, we finally turned on the air conditioning last night (we've had such mild weather here)
Poor Katie was sweating so bad, I had to give her some relief (she gets so so hot and sweats so so much. I feel so bad for her, because this will NOT be a good thing for her as she gets older).
I think I will keep the air on all weekend, so our family is comfortable on Fathers Day :)

Speaking of Fathers Day - what is everyone doing?
We are having the family over - as normal.
I'm hoping we can be outside and use the pool - the kids are dieing to swim.
I also would like to bring out the couquet set and the bean bags to play with - I love doing those games!!!

Is anyone excited like me about Public Enemies?:yay:
I can hardly wait until it comes to the theater - I will pay to see that!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Karen - I'm so glad that Emily is feeling better :) Let us know when you get the Swine Flu results - I'm very curious on if she had it.

Well, it's time to get ready for work - I want to go a little early so I can make sure I get people's Father's Day done.
Have a good day!!!!

Good morning!

sandy - Your weekend sounds fun! We have had the AC on for awhile now! Of course, we don't have to run our heater very much in the winter!

Emi is much better. She still gets tired very easily so we are just taking it slowly. I got a call from our doctor's office yesterday to say that there was a mix up at the lab and we had to have the second swab (the one to go to the state lab) repeated. So we went to the hospital lab yesterday for another swab. She was happy to get out, but after a few minutes in the 97 degree heat she wilted!
We are having a family cook out at my house Saturday evening. Jim has to work on Sunday.

shootingstar - it's great to hear from you! You can just buy one of those button extenders and problem solved! Post a pic whenever you can!

Emi is much better today. I actually worked all day! When I came home she and i went to Mosley's Meat Market and bought steaks for Dad and Jim for the cook out tomorrow. Then we went to Target and bought some other stuff for the get together. I am so excited - I to to have my new great-nephew all day tomorrow! His mommy is going to be in a wedding so he is coming to visit. He should be here around 7am and I expect my mom won't be far behind! He is her first great grandbaby! So we will have a fun day!

Talk to ya'll tomorrow!

hey everyone! im finally home from my week off. Now i have to recover from my terrible allergies i get back home. School starts early tomorrow :faint:

I hope you all had a good weekend!!!!!:cool1:
Sorry I didn't check in this weekend.
Saturday I had computer problems (my computer gets disconnected from the internet, and I don't know how to reconnect it down in Kevin's office), and I decided that on Sundays I'm going to read the paper outside while Sophie stretches her legs for awhile.

Happy Father's Day to all our dads out there!!!!
I hope you had a good day yesterday!!!!
We celebrated by having our family over, so that was nice!!!

Happy Summer!!!!! :sunny:
I"m so glad it's finally here!!!! :cool1:
The girls were able to go in the pool both days this past weekend, and they were very very happy!!! I look forward to when I can go into the pool too, but I don't forsee that happening for a very long time :guilty:

Karen - I"m so glad Emily is feeling better!!!:)

SSM - I'm glad you found us!!! :goodvibes
I"m glad the baby is doing well, and DS1 is adjusting to being a big brother. The pacifier is just the start of some jealosy, but that's normal ::yes:: They'll do great together!!!:goodvibes

CB - Good luck with going back to school today - what class(s) are you taking?

Well, I best get going and get ready for work
Have a great day today everyone!!!
