Can someone please help me out?We are going to DWD in Nov, and we need a way to get to Universal I think we are going to stay at Port Orleans waterview. I saw someone said something about mears bus and that its $18 round trip. Can someone please tell me how it works? How do I make res. and where do they pick you up from and drop you off.ThanksJim*

I don't know anything about Mears shuttle, but if it wae me, I would rent a car from somewhere in a hotel close to DTD. Take the ME bus from PO to DTD (I think they might be as early as 8AM) Then walk to whatever DTD hotel has the best rate for a one day rental (we've had luck with Dollar at Regal Sun - check their opening time, tough) then rent the car for the day and drive. Sometimes you can get a rental for under $40 for economy - actually, we've got $10 and $12/day rentals. Of course, you do have to be over 25. Regal Sun resort has Dollar - another resorts has Alamo, and Hilton has Hertz, I think. There might be more too.

Yes, you have to call them the day before you want to head to US/IoA. They will ask what time you want to leave..they will give you the time they will get to your resort. You can either tell them, when booking, what time you want to be picked up for your return to your resort, or you can call Mears a few hours before you are ready to leave US.
It is $19 pp, r/t.

Don't forget that you'll have to add the cost of parking at Universal to the total when trying to decide which is more affordable. I guess it'll depend on how many people are in your party (and if you are going to CityWalk for an adult beverage:thumbsup2).

FWIW, I saw posted somewhere that, to "celebrate" the opening of WWoHP, Mears was charging $16 pp, ONE-way, between Disney hotels and IoA. (Of course, I can't find this info now... which is making me think I goofed up!!) Using this info and looking at the outrageous cost of rental cars in August, DD and I bought the Dreams Unlimited package (round trip transportation and a 2-park, 1 day ticket). I am now thinking that I spent too much money, if Mears is charging a round-trip price of $19. Grrrr....:headache:

Also, just a note, the Mears drivers can ONLY accept CASH for the transfer. So if you want to purchase your ticket with a CC or debit card, go to any Mears desk at MCO before boarding your DME bus and purchase your Universal transfers.

You still have to call the night before and arrange a pick up time, and then just give the driver the voucher.
